Ok, is it just in Australia, but has it been really really hot lately?
On wednesday, it was 46 degrees! thats like really hot, and we had no air conditioners at school, it felt like I had a fever!
Is that like it anywhere else??

Yeah, its just Australia....lucky...*bleep* lol...
It aint hot in Birmingham, so no for me....

***growling***Uh huh, rub it in...we're getting freezing rain here in the Great White North today...and if there is weather in hell, it's freezing rain. The only time we see 46 degrees is in our frickin' ovens...

Will you guys stop winding KD up - he'll be getting out the cauldron again to work some of that hockey/weather magic 😉

For all of us American's who can't use the internationally accepted metric system, that's 112 degrees and upwards. Sounds awful. My mom (who lives in Aus) is always complaining about it to me.

I complain about the snow in Utah, but I think it's preferable to such intense heat.

Thanks for clearing the up Kindred! I was like " 46, that's freezing." 112 is pretty hot, arent you in summer in australia? It's winter here and was almost 80 degrees F on monday. That's why I love California...our temp never changes between like 60 f and 80f

That warm summer rain is one of my favourite weathers - as long as it doesn't last too long 🙂

Yea I like it too, I saw it and ran outside and like "RAIN! RAIN!" and then the thunder and lightning came and I ran fir my life....

Well, I used to live in Adelaide, but when it was summer there, I would come to see my dad in Utah, where it was really cold, and then, when I moved to Utah, I spent my first two summers that would have been here in Adelaide with my mom... Where it was less than warm. But last summer I stayed (am poor now) and had my first real summer in about ten years....

...Speaking of rain, I'm in Portland, Oregon right now, where it does nothing but rain. I like it here... It's all nice and green.

Actually, it's more of a glacier than an iceberg. The snow is so deep and layered we've had some of those Antarctic teams taking core samples...and even they complained about the cold...

To tell the truth, it wasn't too bad today...sunny and 7C. Last week was a bit hard on everyone...we had 3 straight days of -18C to -21C (-4F to -10F for my American cousins) with windchill putting it down toward -30C (-24F or so).

A quick conversion for Celsius to Farenheit:

2 X degrees in Celsius + 32 = degrees in Farenheit
This is not exact, but it will give you the basic temp to within a couple of degrees. Celsius (also called Centigrade) and Farenheit read the same when the temp reaches -40 degrees. Or, we could use this chart:

All temps in degrees Farenheit:

70 - Texans turn on the heat and unpack thermal underwear.
Canadians go swimming in the lake.

60 - North Carolinians try to turn on the heat.
Canadians plant gardens.

50 - Californians shiver uncontrollably.
Canadians go sunbathing.

40 - Italian and English cars won't start.
Canadians drive with their windows down.

32 - Distilled water freezes.
Lake Superior's water gets thicker.

20 - Floridians don coats, thermal underwear, gloves and wooly hats.
Canadians throw on a flannel shirt.

15 - New York landlords finally turn on the heat.
Canadians have a last barbeque before it gets cold.

0 - People in Miami stop moving.
Canadians go around licking flagpoles for fun.

-20 - Californians fly away to Mexico.
Canadians get out winter coats.

-40 - Hollywood disintegrates.
The Girl Guides of Canada sell cookies door to door.

-60 - Polar bears begin to evacuate the arctic.
Canadian Boy Scouts postpone "Winter Survival" classes until it gets cold enough.

-80 - Mt. St. Helens freezes.
Canadians rent videos.

-100 - Santa Claus abandons the North Pole.
Canadians get frustrated when they can't thaw their beer kegs.

-297 - Microbial life no longer survives in dairy products.
Canadian cows complain about farmers with cold hands.

-460 (absolute zero on the Kelvin scale) - All atomic motion stops.
Canadians greet each other with "Cold, eh?"

-500 - Hell freezes over.
The Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup (this is Nerd4hires favourite one!!)

You have got to be kidding me??
-30 C ??? that must be like freezingful!
oh I feel so sorry for you *hug*
