The Honesty Thread

Lets see...

I'm a hermit who has barely left the house in four years because of increasing agoraphobia, when outside I've always suffered fairly bad social anxiety disorder, yet I've only had one or two panic attacks that I can remember.

I have mild-moderate OCD which impacts nearly every aspect of my life and since my best friend has a severe case we're getting as bad as each other, we'll be living in a bubble someday rofl.

I'm a very timid, gullible, easily lead on, not too bright, anxious, nervous and emotionally melancholy person. Which has lead everyone to trample over me, occasionally literally, over my life time.

I'm asexual, I don't like being touched, people within four feet of me make me flinch and very uncomfortable. Even too many people in the same room can be overwhelming.

I have no patience, little tact, no social grace, a very short temper, anger issues and very little or tolerance for most other people, I'm a misanthrope and always have been.

I was suicidal for two years, to the point I had to be supervised in school and all sharp objects removed from my reach. I still have quite a few scars, but left all of this behind years ago. Its the only problem I've "conquered" at this point.

I have a terrible family that back stab, gossip and generally mistreat each other from birth, all poor, all close minded and all act like its still the 60's. Just idiotic white trash.

And I'm prone to attention span problems, its taken me minutes to type all of this lol.

poor you! your family sounds hideous.
Its interesing how quite a few of us seem to have some similar problems i am loving the openess of this thread its really cool 🙂

People who get genuine pleasure out of other peoples' misery make me so sick I could spit in their face.

This thread has been WONDERFUL therapy, and I feel a lot closer to you guys. 🙂

I also feel very close to the friends I make online. It may sound stupid to some, 'cause I know some people are pathological liars and may never really be themselves, but I care too much about people. I will even sometimes bring up stuff that my online friends have said to me in normal conversation, and other people look at me like I'm nuts.

I probably am nuts but I don't care. I am a generally happy person and I don't care if people think I'm a psycho. 🙂

Out of all my ex boyfriends, 3 of them have come out of the closet since we broke up. Sometimes I wonder if there's something wrong with me that I made them be that way, and other times I just tell myself that they just decided if they couldn't have me, no other woman was good enough so they went gay. LMAO

I am a very spiritual person, but I can't bring myself to step foot in a church because of numerous things that have happened to me over the years with church people.

I cuss way too much. I have seriously tried to stop, but I can't do it. Sometimes I feel like I have Tourette's 'cause I say them without even thinking about it.

One of my ex boyfriends, who was also one of my best guy friends, killed himself in December and I still think I could have stopped him. I think about and dream about him more than I think is normal.

Hey! I know that you mean. I was telling my boyfriend about some conversation I had with someone on here, and he was looking at me all funny.

And if it makes you feel any better - you can trust me 🙂 This really is how I am. No lying here 🙂

A good guy friend of mine killed himself when I was 17. It as really hard on me, but I got through it. And now I have a greater respect for life and appreciate my friends more.

I secretly hate the fact my best friend texted my today to see if I was ok. She's to nice for me I'm such a rubbish friend.

I was bitten in the face by a dog and the owner said a swing had hit me. My sister has a phobia of dogs now, I don't.

I'm tempted to go out a by a cat.

I have one secret I'll never,never tell.

I have one 19cm scar that run across my stomach, a 6cm scar lower down, and L shaped scar on my right hand and serval smaller ones. Nobody knnows how I got the L shpaed scar.

I haven't eaten anything today.

As some other people (call me a sheep without an opinion if you like 😉) I'm amazed by how some people open up. Major cudos to all of you. I've finally got someone to open up to and won't be using this thread to share all of my deepest secrets or not even a few. I do have some, I just choose not to tell them. Just going to vent a thought or two about this place.

When I first got to BB I found this place to be the nicest place imaginable on the net. Since some time I feel that it's gone way downhill and it's dragging me down with it. I´m ashamed that it clearly affects me but that don't change the fact that it does. I don't see why it is ok to be rude just because it's online or one don't know people well enough. And to get away with it over and over again by saying "it was just a joke" is beyond me. That don't mean one always need to agree or one can't joke "like friends" but in my eyes it's gone far past that. Maybe I'm just too sensitive. If it wasn't for some lovely members I don't want to lose contact with (I might have other ways to keep in contact with them but it wouldn't be the same) I'd probably already left.

I'm not expecting everyone to be saints (God knows I'm not) or not to drink or ever take drugs (although I wouldn't mind, especially the last part) but I do think the glorification of being drunk or high on here sometimes get ridiculous. But it has been "worse" than it is at the moment. That's not meant to bash all of you that do get drunk or high from time to time. Your life, hopefully your will.

Believe me, I do not glorify getting drunk. Quite the opposite.

I dont mean to 'gloryfy' drinking or drugs (but who are we kidding, it is fun) I am genuinly worried that I wont be able to stop. Its easier to make a joke or admit the fun than to admit that I am scared
Interesting that the two people claiming they have no problem saying anything have had the least confessional/honest things to say so far.

---------- Post added at 10:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:08 PM ----------

It makes perfect sense. You're coming into the thread and laughing at others and boasting about how you're always honest and yet your posts in this thread are among the least honest. If you're going to make a bold claim that you are always honest and even look down upon others in the thread, back it up with something. Otherwise, your words mean absolutely nothing and one is left to conclude that you are, in fact, not the bold person you claim to be.

That pretty much doesn't make sense to me. I said I have no problem saying anything so why would I have any secrets to share or confessions to make?

I understand what you were trying to say, but perhaps you should have worded it more clearly.
As with the purpose of this thread, please keep comments to yoursleves, or this thread will be closed.

And while I'm in here, try to remember that this is an all ages forum, and everything said here is now public record - or at least BB-public record.

I'm drunk, so this is most honesty you're going to get out of me:

If you HONESTLY like Twilight, I can't help but question your intelligence. Anyone who thinks for themselves wouldn't bother being interested in something so trite. [By 'honestly', I don't mean the Twinkie metaphor - there's not natural ingredients, but yet YUUUUUUUM.]

I consider a few people on this board to be a part of my family. And I mean the kind of family you can create - my friends are much more my family than my actual family.

I'm kind of depressing in the sense that I'm a sickly hopeless romantic. I like watching Mark sleep. I like it when he looks at me, I like how he smells, etc. I miss him when he's gone and I understand I'm a sad person because of that.

I'm very sensual. My life is a constant surround-sound experience, and I am consistently categorizing touch and smell and emotion.

I really think my writing sucks. I want to pursue it someday, and yet I feel like I can't get over myself enough to write about something other than myself.

I honestly like some Seven Day Sonnet songs. The words are easy to learn and it's fun to jam out to when I'm getting ready.

Jordon was the one and only thing I regret. And I still miss him so much it hurts.

Agree on the Twilight!!
Okay...here we go.
- I'm really shy in real life. It may not seem like it online but it's true. People don't notice me much because I'm so quiet, and I wish I could be louder, more confident but I can't. It's so much easier to express opinions and stuff when you're typing!
- I do spend a lottt of time online, and sometimes I feel like my online friends are better than my "real life" friends
-Buffy Boards is a great escape from life.
- I can't sing but I like to anyway! (just not by myself)
-I can NOT lie. I always feel sooo guilty, so I pretty much tell my parents everything hahaha
- I HATE Hannah Montana and all those stupid sitcoms that so many people like. ughhh.

more later maybe!

Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus need to be shot!
I don't have any real deep dark secrets, but I would still like to share.

Now I'm 20 years old, I have to come realise that a few years ago I really wasn't a very nice person. I was really mouthy at school and got into fights. I have always been very opinionated but I've have only just learnt how to use it positively and to listen to others instead of shouting my mouth off, which I try to do now. I also used to bitch about EVERYONE all the time, it really used to do my boyfriend's head in. But I have stopped doing it now and I'm actually quite proud of myself 😛

I had a massive falling out with my best friend (at the time) 4 years ago, it was very messy and I hadn't spoken to her since. But a couple of weeks ago, after 4 years I admitted that I was wrong too and got in touch with her 🙂

I'm finally comfortable with who I am, after spending a lot of my childhood bullied. I can generally say that I am actually a happy person now.

- I think some people on this forum are blatant liars, who will say anything to be seen as "funny."

- I've got a job interview tomorrow, and I'm actually really nervous about it.

Oh-kay, here goes nothing.

I set my Facebook and such to "private" mostly so my students can't see how much I bitch about them.

I often seriously worry that my political beliefs will be a handicap in the academic world.

I am deathly afraid of confrontation. If someone says a harsh word, or I see a fight coming (even a verbal one, or an online one), I get all freaked out and shaky. At the same time, if I'm passionate about something I'll defend it, shakes and all.

I manage to act confident and self-assured, but there's always at least one thing I'm freaking about about, and I always worry that the people I hang out with (physically and online) don't ACTUALLY like me and are just being polite and wish I would go away.

A few years ago, I was afraid that I was bisexual. Not afraid because "ew!" but because I'm MARRIED. No real room for changing your sexual orientation there. Especially not when your husband is a very masculine person who is uncomfortable with homosexuality in any form. Since then, I've regained an even heterosexual keel, and while I can still see how being with a woman would be interesting, I'm not having the nearly-constant fantasies that I was at the time.

Phew!

The last part of nr. 4 seems to be like me. Doubt I manage to act confident though. More than to a degree at least.

I have recently come to the conclusion that I am not a nice person. I was raised by nice people in a nice home and really am surrounded by great people but for some reason I just really don't like people in general.

I work with the public so it is difficult because it is like all day long I have to fake it and when I get home I just can't anymore. Sometimes when people are at work are complimenting me and telling me how nice I am I just grin and tell them It's Fake. They think I am joking but I am not.

The only people I can tolerate for long periods of time are my parents, brothers, and children. Even my husband rubs me wrong.

I hate to shop.

I am lazy and very ashamed of it but not enough to do anything about it.

I don't like going to church, or any other organized social function even (especially) family get togethers that involve more than just siblings.

I have the greatest parents ever.

I don't like my mother-in-law:lmao: or really any of my in-laws.

My first husband / baby daddy was my high school honey who manipulated and used and abused me for the 11 years we were together. It took a pretty severe case of Postpartum depression for me to figure out that he was a nasty alcoholic drug addict who was not ever going to get better unless I left him and once I left him and he cleaned up his act(temporarily) I realized I really just didn't like him any more.

We have been divorced for 8 years and he still manipulates me better than anyone in the world. I really hate him.

When he was in a motorcycle wreck last year I cried because I felt so bad that I wasn't sad for him.

I try to not let my girls know what a loser their dad is because I know it is bad for their self-esteem but they are starting to figure it out for themselves and it makes me sad.

My husband is my best friend and love him but I sometimes wonder if I love him...

I often wish I had married for money.

So shallow me no big problems really just a lot of respect for what so much of you have gone through and the strength that we all show by waking up and facing each day!

Just a little word of warning here.
Please remember that you don't have to be a member to see this thread. Random lurkers and weirdos (other than us) can view it too. And we'd never know who and where.

If it were up to me, we'd save all this honesty for the dorms, but to be HONEST, that's the Mommy in me. Still, please try and be careful as you never know who you're being honest with, even among the friends we have here.

That's all. Carry on.

Okay, well if everyone else is going to post :silly:...

I love Miley Cyrus. And Britney Spears, despite my best efforts.

I'm one of those people that uses my girlfriend's toothbrush, hairbrush, deodorant, razor, haircare products, clothing, etc if they're closer than my own. I'm pretty sure my hunny knows and just pretends not to notice. But just in case, I deny it whenever she asks 😉

I still have the roses I got for Valentine's Day in a vase, because I don't have the heart to throw them out. I also have popcorn in a bag from the theatre that same day, but that's out of sheer laziness. I should throw that out.

Although I can't wait to go, I'm scared to my bones of going to Europe.

I really, really wish that I had done my Spring Cleaning in the last couple days. Now I'm going to have to wait until next week. I procrastinate FAR too much, folks, it's official.

And I disagree with all the News Stories I've seen lately saying that teenagers have no social graces (because of Facebook, Texting...). In my experience from working in Customer Service, teenagers typically are much better at communicating, particularily when a problem is involved. I'm still astonished by how many grown people would rather scream at the poor 14-year-olds I work with, rather than calmly discuss whatever problem they have with their groceries with the managers that can actually do something about it. There's always exceptions of course, but I would just once like to see a news story about how many ADULTS out there could use some lessons in common courtesy.

(and I just typed "courtesy" into Google to make sure that I spelled it right 😀.
.. and edited my post after BB's karma, whoops! )
