Hey...my apologies to the Fred-lovers out there, but I can't help myself, I love Illyria. ::love::

I'm ready to go down to the temple and sign up as an acolyte.

I'm hoping Illyria is at least a regular now. I want her to get her very own spin-off series.

I can't remember a Whedonverse character that got me this anxious to see her again.

I think Illyria needs a fan club. We should start a fan-club. The first thing we'll do will be to begin campaigning for an "Illyria: Demon God", series.

Don't get me wrong, I love Fred and I hate that she was killed off, but Illyria is kinda cool. I love how she does that slow motion time thing. She doesn't seem evil evil to me though. I mean, if she was evil evil I think she would have killed Wesley in the bedroom right there. Maybe because she's a "demon god" she is a little more proper and knows how to handle herself better. I'd like to see her on the show too, just because Amy Acker plays her and I don't wanna say goodbye to her yet. Do you think if Illyria is a regular, she'll still be blue and have on that armor outfit?

The good fight... I think I get it now.

I have always thought that Amy Acker has a sweet n' sexy demeanor in her portrayal of Fred. I have considered her to be one of my favorite characters; partly for the reason I already gave, but also she has great lines (and I was very moved by the display of character she had while facing death). Her last words stuck a chord in my :: red :: .
Fred to the Research department of W&H(season 5.1): "when I am dying, spitting out my guts, I will have the distinct pleasure of knowing that I am dying with the only people in the city who ACTUALLY DESERVE IT!"
Lorn to Eve: " ... and anouther thing Eve. Winifred Burkle once said to me, after a sinful amount of chinese food, and in leiu of nothing at all, " I think a lot of people would chose to be green, your shade if they had the choice."
That being said, YES, Illyria is the definite change for Fred that I have heard so many fans of the show plead for. She gets to start fresh, moves with an alien grace and sensuality ::drool:: , and grants the LA team a powerful ally (for what I am sure is to be one hell of a dire and messy finish to my personal favorite show) or feared villian (think Glory, if she were a BETTER fighter and could slow time).
It is sad that Winifred Burkle will never get to rest in peace, but that which walks around in her carcass is one of the most interesting ideas in the last few seasons. ::bat::

I agree - great quote. BA
I wanna see her!!,looks like she's great...I haven't seen her(except via pics 😛),but I've read the spoilers and I already like the bad girl,so,..count me as an Illyria fan😀

I know what you mean. Fred was adorable. Those flashbacks to Texas were heartbreaking.

Nevertheless, I personally still want Illyria.

Angel will be gone soon, and people will be talking spinoff. Let's get the Illyria buzz going early.

Think about it...as much as you love Fred, what spin-off would you rather see -

Fred: Physicist, or Illyria: Demon Goddess?

I want to join too. And I don't think Fred is totally gone. When her soul was consumed, she became a little part of Illyria. Plus, Illyria is now experiencing human emotions and she has Fred's memories.

I will mourn Fred's loss but I love the new hybrid. And she would be such a major ally - she could kick Jasmine's butt and take on a dozen Turok Khan.

All hail Illyria/Fred!!! ::fire:: ::fire:: ::fire::

I havnt seen Illyria in action but I want Fred to at least make an appearance again somehow. Willow should find some spell to seperate the entities.

I don't want to spoil things for you but in the ep it was revealed that Fred's soul was consumed during the creation of Illyria. So, she may be in there, mixed in, but it doesn't look like she's coming back. Watch the ep and esp. the ending.

I fully agree that Fred and the Being Illyria (the picture of it in its native form would be frightening to behold) have merged, giving a venue for the woman that Fred was to resurface from time to time. Remember, at the end of Shells, Illyria seemed distraught be the memory of Fred leaving Texas, almost like it felt sorrow at having to leave Texas behind even though that was Fred's memory. The True demon is probably having to deal w/ human emotion much like Glory did when the Ben/ Glory line was starting to blur ("Did you know, Ben IS Glory" as the humans of the buffyverse began quoting frequently).
The reason I think that Illyria was really introduced is that when Angel needed someone to try to ensoul Fred, the ONLY big guns he could think of was Willow. The Angel show has been without someone of power on the good guys side since the start. Buffy had Willow in a pinch, but Angel has.... what, Spike...Lorn. He needs some serious firepower to contend with whatever is coming his way. He probably will have 2 factions of bad guys to deal with (whoever sent the ninja-borgs :: fantom ((NEVER disclosed)) and the soon to be enraged Senior partners ::rm:: , as well as whoever else may be waiting in the wings).
But, whatever is yet to show their hand to our 2 favorite :: vampire 's with souls, I am sure that we will be in for one hell of a treat. :: tu :: ::bat::

I dont care, Willow can do anything!

Um yeah thats a bit of a bummer, I am going to watch those episodes, when Sky have shown up to 5.11, then I've 'got' the rest of the episodes at the moment. I will watch them on Sky as well but I want to watch the finale with everyone, sick of waiting around with all these spoilers to ruin my fun!

I wouldn't say I love Illyria yet, but this is an interesting twist and Illyria could become a cool character. I wonder how the rest of the gang will react to Wesley taking her in and how long it will be before he tells them. I got the impression Spike and Angel were planning on hunting her down so they might not be wildly appreciative of Wesley's decision.

I agree and I think he may have to go rogue again. I don't think they are going to think he is making a sane decision about Illyria. Love can make you do wonderous and sometimes moronic things. But I am so glad that we have this new club and that we will get to see Fred but now...blue, even more hot, and super powerful. And we will get to experience the world new through Illyria's eyes. Done before with Anya, yes, but Anya wasn't this cool. *hides from Anya fans*

This could be interesting, especially if we get Fred back by some miracle, without losing Illyria, and more especially if Illyria and Wesley bond in some way. (Wish the season could go on longer, don't you?)

I could hug you. I would so love to see them as a couple. And they already are sort of...she will be living with him, I would think. And I know it is sick and twisted but he has been through so much and if she feels Fred's emotions, he could have her back...changed though she is.

Did you hear the official news about the Firefly movie? It is a go. Officially, from Universal. Check out www.buffy.nu for some articles. Hooray!!! More Joss!!!!

and who says that Fox or TNT won't pick up Angel. there is still hope.

I must admit, Illyria has become one of my favorite villains (although if she will remain a villain or not is yet to be seen).

The Whedonverse has always given us great bad guys over the years, each of them a unique character the likes of which have never been seen before on television. From the First's sarcastic tauntings, Glory's power and childishness, to the Mayor's sunny disposition, these villains live on even after their deaths. I'm glad that a wonderful character like Illyria has joined their ranks.

... ... ...

It also doesn't hurt that she's major yummy... ::drool::

If it is possible, watching Shells made me even more outraged that the WB cancelled Angel. Can you imagine how great Illyria would be as a regular cast member? Okay, it is not necessarily the path that the writers are going to take, but if it happened, she would probably be one of the greatest characters in the Jossverse. It would be like the merging of all of the greatest aspects of the best Jossverse characters. She would have the comically mixed-up morals of Anya, the cuteness of Fred, the coolest appearance ever, and the same sort of redemption complex as Angel and Spike. I would now sell my soul for another season of Angel. ::cd::

I have to join in on this thread. Illyria is pretty tight. I wonder if she will stay on good's side though. She is full on demon after all. hehe

Hmmm... interesting suggestion. Has anyone contacted the Devil? I mean, I ain't using my soul at the moment. It seems like a small price to pay for a few more seasons of the best show on television.

I'm not sure even the Devil could do it. You could get a spinoff though. Illyria: Demon Goddess
