I must state my favorite Illyria quote here: (or the closest I can get to it from memory) I've been hitting the halfbreed. He makes noise.

I just love her 🙂
 
My favourite one is with Connor in 'Origin'

lol! I love how she turns her head and says that.
 
"I am God-King of the primordia. The shaper of things" - that's my favourite.

She can no longer walk through dimensions, or alter time, and she's lost some of her stength - sniff, sniff.

I'm a little disappointed after Time Bomb; not because of the episode itself. I love the actual episode, but Illyria has been weakened.

It's expected though. Illyria is the classic tragic hero. It's traditional they be systematically weakened, and taught humility.

Nevertheless, it's a sad day for the Illyrialites.
 
The tragic hero thing goes to show how much Joss loves her too... 'cause it was said, and I'm terribly sorry for forgetting who said it, that Joss always hurts the characters he loves most... this was said in refference to Spike's storyline in season 4-5-6.

Also, I've been wandering, what would it have been like, if Illyria would've chosen a different shell then Fred. So what do you think it would've been like?

Yeah ok, I'm in love with Illyria as well. Her powers are extremely cool and I thought she would have been extra useful in the fight of the apocolypse, fighting alongside the Angel crew...but now she's void of her powers.

I do believe an Illyria spin-off would be sweet. They find a way to send her back in time to her own dimension. Her reign has been taken over, and she must fight to regain it. That's the plot of the spin-off. Yeah...cool.

Hey question...If they had decided to convert Harmony into Illyria, would I be having the "They have no right to change Harmony" arguement with you.

Now that she can do this switching between Fred and Illyria and seems to want to explore her new feelings - with Wes, I love her even more. Amy Acker is so amazing.

Is she playing with the Fred toy inside of her. Is she seeking data on the new world she finds herself in. Is it coming from some engram of Fred that remains burried in Illyria. Hey...do you think it's possible there could be some kind of perverted, romantic spark, the Illyria demon feels for Wes?

One thing I found real interesting was the excuse Illyria gave Wesley for why she took on the Fred persona. She made herself sound miserable when she said it, but basicly she said she didn't want to hurt the Burkles' feelings.

Is it possible Illyria has a heart. If so, is it Fred's?

I think she definitely has a heart, if't only weren't for the fact that Joss is not interested in creating evil characters. So if she's here to stay, she must have some kind of good, be it in the form of a heart/soul or whatever you wish to call it in her. Besides that, I honestly don't see the point in creating a feeling-less character myself either, 'cause where's the fun in that?

I think so. I think she experienced positive emotions with Fred's parents and then wanted to experience the same thing with Wes. But how much torture can Wes take....
 
Seeing Fred again was both great and horrible. Now I want her back more (and with straightened hair). Was nice to see emotion in Illyria and changing for the Burkles but I though Wes would of phoned them, sometime after the brooding and before the craziness.

Anyone else looking at something else when Illyria was walking up those stairs?

and yes, I was looking up her skirt and thinking how amazing Amy is - she can be sexy when she's cold and arrogant and blue and when she's soft and loving.
 
I was thinking more of Illyria, in the little leathery thing, wagging her behind as so to speak, while walking up the stairs.

I don't remeber where I posted it, but I think she has Fred's soul. Illyria doesn't behave correctly for a soulless demon. She seems to care about Wesley and didn't want to hurt Fred's parents. If she is soulless, she should be like a soulless vampire and not care about morality, but Illyria goes out of her way not to hurt anyone. With her amazing power before it was diminished, she could hurt or kill anyone if she had the urge. Therefore Illyria must not want to kill anyone, which is strange for a presumably formerly evil demon. She could just be like Spike in S5 Buffy and care about the people around her because of Fred's memories, but I prefer the soul explanation. With only two episodes left, however, I doubt we will ever find out.

This thread is too precious to end just yet.

I think it's incredible how fast you can grow to love a character. It makes me think, would you have prefered if Fred had been changed into Illyria in season 3 (putting aside the current storyline of course), giving us more Illyria character development.
I really dig Illyria, but I love Fred so much. So I'd stick with her, Fred, lol...
