Changed my mind. Eliza Dushku's Tru Calling isn't doing well. So I'm now betting on a Faith spin-off.

I'm beginning to think we are not going to be getting a spinoff anytime soon. With Spike on Angel, ALyson going to be doing a spinoff and Eliza...well, I'm not sure, something tells me she is going to try her hardest not to be type cast as Faith.. That pretty much leaves one option: XANDER AND ANDREW'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE

Nah, it would probably be about them hanging out at a comic shop fighting midget versions of Big Bads (Little Nasties, if you will) all while getting into comical situations with their landlords (Mr. T and Edith Bunker). Could also be called "Dude, Where's my HellMouth?", Tuesdays on UPN right after "Rock ME Baby"

Anyway, well, it's been a couple of months and still no word about a spinoff for a long while (cept for that phony rumor of the The Show "Chosen" on Showtime, that was confirmed false). LEt's look at what cast members might be availabel for the show. Maybe that will help us speculate who will be in the spinoff, if it were to happen any time soon:

Eliza Dushku- Right now Staring in Tru Calling, but the show is probably on the verge o being cancelled. Odds on coming back to star in Spin-off: 50/50

Nichalos Brendon- Dilming TV Movie, but mostly has a free schedule with no long term commitments. Odds on doing the spinoff: 99/100

Alyson Hannigan- Starring in her own sitcom in the fall. Odds: 10/100

Anthony Stewart Head- Doing a show on BBC, a few TV movies, but said that he would like to come back to the role of Giles. Odds:70/100

Michelle Trachtenberg- Has'nt really said anything about what she is doing right now anbut said she would'nt come back for a spinofff. Odds:5/100

Tom Lenk (Andrew) Not doing much from what I know, but appearing on Angel later on the season. Odds: 97/100

Iyari Lemon (Kennedy)- Did a tampon comercial. Odds: 95/100

D.B Woodside (Robin Wood)- Has a major recurring role on 24. Odds: 20/100

Again, those are just oddds I made up in my head, but it seems like alot of people who could be considered for the lead are busy with other roles or aren't ilnterested. Maybe something featuring a new lead chracter or one oof the potentials (Hopefully not Kennedy, that wouldn't go over well) Or they can wait until James MArsters finisheds up his stint on Angel and then just give him his own show

They seem pretty correct, except. The odds of Iyari returning most likely depend on the odds of Alyson returning. So instead of 95/100 it's (95/100)*(10/100)=9.5/100 which isn't so good.

Well, when deciding the Iyari odds, I decided to factor out the whole "willow" thing and pretty much based it on availibilty. She probably would want to come back to do the show, wether writers would want her back without having Alyson in the mix is a compltetely different story. Must suck to have the future of your chracter rely on wether another actress wants to come back or not and to have everyone of the fans hate you. Poor Iyari.

Nichalos Brendon said at the David Boreanaz event that he has probably left the Buffyverse for good. Really can you see Xander in his own show?

Eh, honestly, I think that Buffy, Willow , and Xander's tales are pretty much done with as far as ever being a mainstay in a show goes. Even though, I really can picture Xander as a lead, they just need to get him out of the whole "comic relief" trip. But it's probably time to focus on charactrs who haven't been delved into as much. My choice would be aFaith show with Andrew on as goofy sidekick (Hey, he can even pull a "Wesley" later on tin the series) and bring in Giles for good measure, then the rest could be all new characters.

I can picture it now,: Faith rding a mototrcycle through the desert with Andrew riding piggy back and Giles in the sidecar giving the desposition.

I really don't think that any of the main Buffy characters could support their own show. I mean, it's simply that they aren't strong enough characters. Perhaps Giles could, if he had another strong character to back him up, but by himself, I think not. Willow couldn't support her own show, she'd get killed the first episode, not being able to use strong magics. Xander is definitely not strong enough to support a show of his own. I mean, after seven years of a sorry-fighting goofball, I don't think an audience would buy him turning into a fighter like Wesley. Besides, Brendon (sp?) has already said that he's finished with the character. I don't think that Eliza Dushku could or should reprise her role as Faith. I certainly hope that no one flays me for saying this, but I think she gave to worse performance in Buffy/Angel history as Faith. I mean, she's absolutely wonderful in Tru Calling, but in Buffy she was awful! I'm just really sad that Tru Calling hasn't gotten better ratings, because it really is a good show. Now, as far as spin-off's of Angel go, Spike is your best bet. Either Spike or Wesley. They're both, in my opinion, strong enough characters to pilot their own shows. Gunn probably could support his own show, but I'd put him in a backup role on the Wesley show. All in all, out of all the characters in the Buffyverse, I'd give Spike the best odds for successfully piloting a spin-off.

I agree with the last half of that but I have to disagree that Willow couldn't do it. We really don't know what happened to her when she did that Slayer spell. She could have been changed or chosen in a way herself. They could go anywhere with that and do crossovers as well. Who knows. I just hope they do something soon because God knows I'm not going to survive with no Buffyverse. Oh, and I liked Faith. But I can see where you're coming from...

I agree that Spike is the best bet for a spin-off. He would probably have got his own show after Buffy but Joss must of thought it would be better if he went to Angel and helped with the ratings. Maybe when Angel is over (which I hope is a LONG time away) Spike could have his own show.

A Wesley spin-off still has my support though.

About the Willow spin-off, I just don't think that she is a strong enough character to star in her own Buffyverse show. I like Willow, but she's naught more than a supporting character. For one thing, Willow's personality would never enable her to be a leader of aught short of a school science club. All in all, though I do like Willow, I wouldn't want to watch her heading a show.

A Spike spin-off would turn out to be too much like Angel, I think. A Faith spinoff would be great.

But wouldn't a Faith spin-off be too much like Buffy?

Hostile_17 and No Angel, I love your ideas 🙂

Besides Andrew and Wesley (oh how I love them! 😀), I would want to see Buffy, Giles, Faith, Spike, and/or Anya in a spin-off.

i would have to disagree with Agent Finn, i believe Willow is a very strong character. They would really be able to get into teh whole Wiccan thing. If you were talking abotu seasons 1-3 Willow i would agree she was not strong enough but she really became a much stronger character by season 7😀

I honestly think that The whole 'Ripper' idea has more hope than anything else, Giles is a universally loved character. (C'mon guys, who DOESNT like Giles?! He's English!). Giles has the ability to rope in ANY character from either Buffy or Angel, because he has the links, which makes it alot more believable.
Also...They need a change of scenery, sorry but the LA scene has been played. London would be awesome, also alot of bad ass demons would be there, some major evil mojo would come from Europe.
Perhaps Dawn would go into 'Ripper' (please dont cut off my head for that!) but her character is actually quite well written, it's hard to write a teenage girl without been sterotypical. Also the father-daughter relationship could be more explored because they've never fully written into that. Also, I would love to see Giles skirm about having to deal with a normal teenage girl that isn't a slayer or a witch...or a key (is she even the key anymore?!).
Anyways, I could babble for ages about this.....But I won't ;o)
