The old Walking Dead Thread is closed, or unable to comment in. Its in the cemetery/Wolfram&Hart
area. I figured I would get some conversation going again since the show is back from its mid season
break. Not only that but its one of the most popular shows, if not, the most popular. I haven't heard
of too many television shows to get red-carpet premiers.

I must give my two cents on Season Three thus far. I love-love-love the show. To me, however,
I feel that the direction of the show is changing. Season Two may be a stand-alone favorite. It seems a
lot about survival and team management. Now I haven't read the comics but the show has taken a direction
of a drama/comic-like show. Going into Season Three with the Prison as a build up.. I must say it wasn't as
cool as I was hoping. It came across as creepy, but was just a few episodes of zombies and suddenly the
formed-town was the new location of the season. Again, I haven't read the comics.. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE
the show 😛 Now I know the show couldn't stay fresh with a survival theme every season. I have enjoyed
the season so far. But not only did we get a bad guy of a beating heart, he is a mayor-like guy with an
eye-patch! I still love it and can't wait to see how it plays out.

Every episode is intense and hits so many levels of emotions. I hope it keeps this freshness for many
more seasons.

What do you guys think?

Wow! No Walking Dead fans here?

I'm a fan! Last nights episode was really good but frustrating too.

Why didn't someone suggest locking Meryl up in another cell block so that Daryl wouldn't leave?! Losing Daryl is a huge loss for the group. 🙁

I get not trusting random people that they run into, but I wish Rick wasn't so quick to send the strangers away. The group is getting smaller by the day and they could use the help; especially now that the Mayor knows where they are and is going to be out for revenge. Mishonne too...I get not fully trusting her but she could be useful.

Andrea is getting more annoying cough*stupid*cough each episode.

I'm not crazy about the Rick going crazy story line...I really hope it doesn't last. Can't say I'm a fan if ghost Lori.

I said lock him up too! Seriously it's three most logical thing to do until you can get back to home base and make a well thought out decision.
I am absolutely apeshit nuts when it comes to how much I love this show. I am one of those who loves the drama between the characters as much as the walker-killing, so Season 2 is my favorite season so far.
I love Season 3, but I'm with Darla... The whole "Rick is crazy" storyline has gotten old. I don't like how he's fine, out there strategizing how to get his friends out of Woodbury, one second and then the next he's swinging his gun around because he saw Lori's ghost. WTF?
I am loving the whole Woodbury/Prison war we've been seeing this season though. I don't read the comics, but I love the storyline and how they change it up so it doesn't mirror the comics and the comic fans can't predict what's going to happen. 🙂

I thought of you HisMRS when I re-started this thread. Hah.

While I understand Rick should be crazy. I don't know how far off the deep end he is going to go. He has already went crazy once and now it seems to have started again. To me he is the core character of the show and is going going to have to get a grip eventually. He is becoming an insane-Shane! We need to relate to someone.

Does anyone watch the Talking Dead? I love that show, so.

I never considered locking Meryl up. I could have seen that situation going many ways including the way it went. I saw Glenn's anger as well but I liked the way Rick handled it as well.

Yeah, I don't think many people like Andrea. It seemed like they tried to make her likable at some point during Season Two but it has yet to work and now in S3 she is more unlikeable, hah.

I will pitch a fit if Daryl doesn't come back. And also maybe if Michonne and Tyrese (CUDDY!) are kicked out of the group.

I get the Rick story line (I'm kind of surprised he hasn't had a mental breakdown until now) but I'm just not all that interested in it. That scene with ghost!Lori from last night's ep kind of reminded me of Buffy's dream in "Surprise", she's asleep in Giles' office and she dreams of Dru killing Angel.

Daryl <3 haha
Norman Reedus isn't leaving the show, nor is Michael Rooker (Merle). If you look at the credits now, they're both listed as regulars. Plus I've seen pictures from upcoming episodes and they're both there.

lol I once saw Michael Rooker at the LA County Fair

That is awesome! I like to think if I saw any of my favorite shows' cast members, I'd be calm and approach them for a picture in a discreet way, but I don't know... I think if I ever saw Andrew Lincoln I'd be a total fangirl. LMAO

I feel like if Norman Reedus wasn't coming back, we would know.

Agreed. A core character like him doesn't leave the show like that. Ignoring that they have already shown him on next week's episode previews, he is too important to drop off the show in passing. I'm sure they are well aware of his fan-backing.. with him doing the voices in the video games and a superbowl commercial.

I saw where a lot of people were thinking he wouldn't return.

I don't think Norman Reedus would ever leave the show on his own. He is a huge fan of the show and the comics, and he genuinely LOVES his character (ever watched him do interviews? YouTube him!), so I think the only way he'd leave is if they killed him.

Yea, Daryl is not going anywhere. Imo, he'll be in the show till the end - which probably means years down the road. He's my favorite character, above and beyond! Liked him from the beginning. 😛

As for the Ricks going crazy storyline, I like it. He's definitely becoming a little psychotic. He is under a load of stress. He's mourning his wife and most likely blaming himself for not making peace with her before she died. He's been responsible for a lot of people - some of which have died partly because of him. Now, he doesn't know if he can trust anyone anymore, and he certainly doesn't want to be responsible for more people deaths... Which explains why he kicked Tyreese' group out. Also, honestly, I think he needs to sleep, lol. Poor dude. He needs someone else to help with leading the group and now Daryl is gone...

Gawd, I miss Shane.

You know Tome I think you're right about the sleep thing. I don't think we've ever even gotten a scene showing that he has claimed a bed in one of the cell blocks... He definitely needs some rest!

I was SO excited about the return of TWD - and it was awesome!

Living in New Zealand I'm a few days behind so I had to avoid all tweets, blogs etc until today.

I fully understand Rick going crazy. He's had plenty of stress & things happen to trigger a nervous breakdown. I hope he starts to trust strangers again though cause they need the numbers.
Did anyone get a Beth crushing on Rick vibe?

I'm sure Daryl will return to the group (they'll be stuffed without him) but I can't imagine his brother ever playing nice.
Besides, there would be a major riot if Daryl was killed off or became a minor character. Norman Reedus has a large following of obsessed fan girls that would storm the studio if anything happened to his character!

Anyone else a big fan of Glenn & Maggie? Those two are so cute and kick major ass.

I got that vibe at first, when I had just seen the previews for the ep, but after seeing the whole episode I think she was mostly just giving him that kiss on the cheek to thank him for bringing her sister back safely.

I LOVE Glenn and Maggie. They're a little taste of sugar in a world of salt, as far as TWD goes. 🙂

Beth's been crushing on Rick for forever! They're setting up some sort of stupid Carl-Rick rivalry thing there (from Carl's POV).

I'm a Darryl-Maggie fan lol

Wouldn't that be weird? A love triangle between a father and his son, and a 17-year-old girl? Ewwww. LOL

Darryl and Carol all the way for me! 😀 They are sweet together... I've been hoping it would happen since he brought her the cherokee rose in Season 2.
