But Video Editing requires the use of computers and as such I will be a slave to them for 1/5 of the day. It's horrible, I know.

I would like to add though, that I may have come here for Buffy, but that's not why I'm here now.
Actually, I came to spam for a petition and tick off FX, THEN I stayed for Buffy, but now I stay for the people.
I've met the most amazing (and amusing) people ever here. It's not even so much that it's a fun crowd, but a diverse AND fun crowd.
Barring the 3rd world crowd, I get to hang out with people who have successful jobs, people who are working their butts off to get through school and capable to juggling more than I can even imagine, people who can add snippets to my Buffy and Angel watching, people (like BotD) who watched them on LSD and have NO idea what they're talking about, people who make me laugh, people I can advise, people who can advise me.....and then there is Willy.

All in all, it seems to be, for the most part, that it's the PEOPLE that bring people back to the boards, not Buffy. Otherwise the irc and dorms would always be empty.

Sure, it's not skydiving, but we're all not cut out for skydiving. We ARE all made to touch other people's lives and the boards just give us all longer arms.

Nice post I completly agree. I have stayed on the boards for around 1 year just because of the people I went off Buffy for a while but most of you guys are amazing and thats why I stay.
 
PS - I didn't post the thread for people to post warm fuzzies and I didn't don't plan to say I did.

I did it for 3 reasons.
1) Someone bugged me and I wanted to tease him - he knows who he is
2) I needed to do something with my time off
3) I really am an arrogant tosser that derives pleasure from pissing people off

I have been on longer than that.

Currently laid up in bed watching Stargate: Atlantis so it is difficult for me to go out.

Well me, I've got a life, pretty good one too. I'm happy....

I also have hobbies and intrests. Buffy is one of them. That goes hand in hand with talking about it. Then there is this cool thing on the net where people organize and talk about their likes and what not.

Just because your part of a forum and intrested in people and topics does not mean you need a life, it only means the board is part of your life. I happen to love the time I spend with my family doing things, fall means football, all the past talk of hunting on the boards has me looking forward to hunting season, I enjoy carpentry and am remodeling my computer room, I'm chasing down Fake Shemps music leads with abandon (she has good taste) loads of other things too.

In my case, your preaching to the choir; I allready have a life. I also like to analyze characters, story arc, etc. etc. as a hobby.

Without hobbies we all go mad! 🙂 !

Basic conclusion by me, we all talk 'too much' about something, from politics to danger factors of the world around us, to our latest great adventures bragging rights.... The people who don't share our intrests are the ones who deem it 'too much'

I don't mind if they don't listen & when they try to tell me how to live my life, I usually just return the favor.

I'm pretty sure I'm 5x5. 😉 but thanks for your concern.

imagine how much worse it would be if the hobbies did't keep us busy. There would be more free time to entertain our madness...only so much nefarious activity can be blamed on the aliens
What im finding funny is that the offended people actually give a toss what BotD said.
 
i was just about to go offline when you first posted this thread. i left thinking 'this will have a ton of responses by tomorrow'. when i came back on today and saw 6 pages, the results were not surprising 🙂.
