I saw someone refer to borzois as ”the Tilda Swinton” of dogs, and I can’t stop laughing because I can’t unsee it. The amount of times I’ve gotten an ”what is that!?” 😂

This is uncanny...I'm starting to wonder if I knew this artist from many years ago. Drawings of him remind me of someone I know who would into geek and nerd humor (he does A LOT of math jokes)...and the woman here looks so much like someone we both knew with a very dark sense of humor, and a phobia about plagues (wonder how she weathered Covid), becoming a walking encyclopedia of past plagues.

But I mainly thought to share this here because of talking about women drivers in another thread (about one more way Joss's show is so, heh, "feminist").

I was just thinking, if Hollywood really wanted to destroy "expectations" (along with Skywalker), they could start off with a series "one year before Luke Skywalker." Before the Dark Times when terrorists led in part by a wizard and disgruntled treasonous princess who was so self-entitled that she dared play the diva even to Lord Vader, left the galaxy vulnerable to threats like the Vong to bring back a dysfunctional, corrupt, ineptly bureaucratic Republic. The Empire even offered amnesty to Luke several times, but betrayed them at every turn in his quest for power, while feigning pacifism.

This series is dedicated to those murdered in the line of duty by Skywalker. One year before they were killed by Luke who'd just left Tatooine, this was their lives before cut short by terrorists...

About 6 minutes. I'd suggest normal speed just for the Vader cameo.



And then they could release this...I expect it would get many ready to sign up for the Empire...this one isn't so much fun as amazing, especially if most of the work really was done by one person...over by the 7 minute mark (I think this wouldn't lose much played at speed 1.5, though I enjoyed it at normal speed):

 
That TIE short film has been around for years and is absolutely amazing. I’ve always thought that animation where the bomber barrel rolls and sends out a million missiles is so cool.

It’s also one of the few pieces of media that makes the Empire look extremely competent. I love it a lot for that alone.

They do more than that (one has a comment of something like, "Remember when our biggest fear was that Disney would turn Star Wars into a musical? I miss those days." 😀 ).

But I shared that specific one and one Star Wars fan went ballistic over it. Strangely, he liked most of it, but the ending with Vader really put a bug in his shorts for reasons I still don't understand.
 
I was watching the news today and man, whoever was timing the segments had no chill at all. 💀

They were talking about how families are struggling to make ends meet and then the very next article was about how sports betting was through the roof in my state and continues to grow rapidly. Like hmm…is there a correlation here?

I also can’t stop laughing at this, as stupid as it is.
