Top 10 reasons I hate Kennedy

Actually if you wanna get all technical on me...there are only 8 (there are two "she didn't die in the end" and one "she's still alive") So um....bite me?

Ok I will get technical, Technically they are different. Technically Kennedy did not die in the end of "Chosen" and you did not like that. And Technically she is still alive, we know this from Angel, so that could annoy you, that she did not die after the end in the time between "Chosen" and "Damage".

So um...stake me! 🙂

I was trying to lighten the situation up with a little humour (I wasn't arguing)....obviously it didn't work. LOL

I agree that Kennedy seemed kinda out of line the way she ordered the others around. I don't know why she thought she was so special. I really didn't like her at all. :ewhip:

Yikes!! I wasn't trying to be disrespectful to people on here at all.....I apologize if I offended anyone. I was just trying to lighten things up a bit.

Are you talking about me?

I didn't really like Kennedy either. From the moment she walked in it seemed as if she dissaproved of Buffy. But that wasn't really the reson I didn't like her.

Willow almost destroyed the world and killed her friends because Tara died. Then a few months later she's kissing someone else. To me that's disrespectful to Tara and their relationship.

This always bugged me too. Even though I always used to be annoyed with her, and say that I disliked her and such, but it still really bothered me when Kennedy did that. I guess it's like with your family, it's ok for you to say/think whatever you want about them but as soon as someone else (especially someone "new") does that same thing, it's suddenly not okay at all. (And yes Buffy does feel like family to me in a way.)

This I never got though... It wasn't like she kissed someone else a day after Tara's death. I don't think anyone can say that Willow wasn't hurt by Tara's death, its is pretty obvious that it destroyed her completely... But is it wrong of her to move on six months later? No. She didn't forget about Tara, she never would, and it's not disrespectful to Tara (or their relationship) to find a way to start living again, find something that could perhaps make her happy again. What could be wrong with that?

I agree with you on that. And there is nothing wrong with her wanting or needing to move on. To me it just seemed to quick and that's the same reason why I had trouble with Riley because it seemed to quick after Angel left, but at least for the begining of season 4 and in a few episodes of Angel we see that Buffy and Angel are still coping with the loss of each other. Granted Tara's dead in season 7 and we can't get that character interaction, but personally I would have liked to see a little more time before Kennedy and Willow got together. I guess I just wanted evrything to work out like a fairytale (Like Joss brining Tara back like he planned), but that rarely if ever happens in the Buffyverse.

Oh I agree with you. And if that had happened to someone I loved as much as Willow loved Tara, it would probably have taken more time to move. But who knows until you've been in that situation (and then again, it's always different). I agree with you I just don't think that at all means that Willow was disrespectful to Tara or their relationship.

I think if Tara came back it wouldn't have shown how real loss can be. Granted the show is about a fictional hero, vampires, demons and forces of hell, but a lot of the show was so real and that's part of the reason why I love it so much.

You know the one that bugs me about Kennedy? It's when Willow zaps her with her magic in Get It Done, and she gets all whiny and wimpy.

I mean she'd been puffing her chest out up until that point acting all tough, and "bring it on", treating Willow like she wasn't so much, even though every one who knew as much, told her Willow was the real deal. Then when Kennedy gets a taste of what she's actually dealing with, she's like a little puppy hiding under the bed shivering, because she peed on the rug.

People like that bug me.

She really annoyed me with that, I kept wishing she'd shut her mouth about stuff she didn't know anything about! When she finally got a taste, I was like, "Yayyyyy!" Take THAT!

I would have to disagree with you there I liked that about Kennedy it showed that she is not always right and she is flawed She (up until then) did not see the real Willow this was a test for their relationship and showed that Kennedy now understood Willow and What she Can do.

Another one I didn't like personally was after Buffy had been pushed out, Kennedy is going after Faith thinking she (Kennedy) should have more power now.

I loved the way Faith shut her down. Kennedy didn't wanna mess with Faith. Faith would've cold-clocked her, and Kennedy knew it. Kennedy was always brave - or more precisely nervy - until she got called on it, then you saw the real Kennedy, all scared and insecure. She wasn't good enough for Willow. No real depth.

Very much agree on the Faith thing..
The reason i hate kennedy is because i hate the whoel "potential" thing, and she was just a nuissance

I forgot which episode it was, but she said this one lien that just made me hate her!

and for some reason i felt she was their to "remind" everyone that willow was a lesbian instead of just being

I'm not her biggest fan, but I liked her relationship with Willow. When you say that there was no real depth do you mean she had no real depth or the relationship didn't.

When we look at previous season there was more time to explore things like this, the relationships and the new characters, but there was so much going on in the final season. Instead it gives us the fans more to talk about and explore for ourselves which is always a good thing.

For me hate is such a strong word so its not one I would use to describe my issues with Kennedy. Basically I didn't take to her character just like I don't take to certain people in real life. Its one of those things, when they walk into a room you just get this feeling about them, something that does not sit quite right with you.

I do plan on watching the final season again because it lets me see things in a new light and my opinions are always changing.

hate IS a strong word even involving tv characters. yup.

Actually I mean my personal feeling was Kennedy herself lacked depth of character.

To me she was all show, no go. I'm not sure a lack time to develop the character explains it. She had the most screen time of any of the potentials. I do feel depth from characters like Vi and Molly who had much less screen time. I felt there was something under the surface with those two as examples. It's just my personal feeling.

Another thing that bugged me about Kennedy was the calling Chloe a maggot thing. Actually not that in itself, because that can just be part of an effective training technique. What bugged me is Kennedy got off on it.

Kennedy was a bully. I don't like bullies.

Kennedy wasn't a bully; she was just a hard teacher.

I personally feel that most potentials were very flat, Molly, Vi, Amanda... all of them were underdevelopped. HOWEVER, I think that based on their looks you could extrapolate what their personalities may be like, which is harder with Ken.

I really think that if Kennedy had another season to develop our views of her would have been drastically different.

To be honest, I've never understood why people hate Kennedy so much. I never thought she was much of a big deal.

She took up valubale time that could be used to oogle Spike and or Andrew

And honestly, I don't really mind oogling over Kennedy.

I agree with Allycat. If Kennedy would've had more time to develop,I'm sure I would like her.I mean to tell you the truth,I didn'y like Tara that much in season 4 but when season 5 came I just fell in love with her. She's one of my favorite characters now. We're all bashing Kennedy(myself included)because we only saw her for a little bit.We just needed more time to get used to her.

I agree, with the added comment that the first time she kissed Kennedy (who is not my favorite person by a long shot, so I'm not saying this in her defense, but in Will's) she turned into Warren because of the guilt! In the end, tho, she realized that Tara was gone, and would be forever, and that she needed to go on living. It's hard, but that's what you do.

7. She made Willow forget about Tara (temporary I know, but they were IN LOVE. I dont see how Willow could move on so easily)

4. She kicked Buffy out of the house (That made Spike sad 🙁 )

Ok, I really don't like the other reasons, but I do however agree with the quoted.
