This keeps coming up again and again, and the answer is always the same. The President wins the election by receiving the largest number of electoral votes. That means that he is elected by winning the largest number of states. The number of popular votes that he receives is not a factor, and hasn't been since the founding of this nation. The purpose of the Electoral College is to assure that a few densely inhabited states don't wind up controlling the election, thereby setting themselves up as the only ones to whom a potential President is ultimately responsible. Without the College, states like California and New York would, in effect, control the White House, no matter who sat in the Oval Office. Great for California and New York, but the rest of the country can be pretty much dismissed.

Combating misinformation/ignorance with truth and logic is admirable, to say the least. Thank you for your post.

We've had ONE gang so far we've also had a number of gross predators who were white. Yes everyone should be investigated equally but one gang of scumbags does NOT mean that everyone should 'go back where they came from'.
As to the fairness of the college the problem is that it tilts thing too far the other way making it a lot harder for a Democrat to get elected and downplaying what those in the cities want. Why is that the usually less educated and informed about the outside world have their decisions having more sway than those who are. If it was just stuff effecting them it wouldn't be so bad (although their homophobia, transphobia, racism and frankly stone age views on abortion and contraception would still be a massive problem) but the US President affects things on a worldwide level.

Well, "Go back to your country" is a VERY well known and common racist phrase. It's racist because it implies that someone isn't really a part of the country, in this case, American, due to their race. What Trump has said alludes to the racial identities of these women, and plays into racist stereotypes.

Texas, a commonly red state, has a MUCH larger population than New York. Anyway, shouldn't the system count everyone's votes the same? If the majority of a country wants a certain person in the White House than that is the will of the people.

If you have to ask - telling someone to 'go back where they came from' is pretty much most people from an ethnic minority has had to deal with - I remember the comedian Lenny Henry talking about that one in the 80s. If that's the first you've heard of it then it means Trump isn't just racist he's passé.

He does have some dubious friends who may well have given him those ideas it's all grounded in racist rhetoric. If it quacks like a duck you can forgive people for thinking it's a duck.

I went to uni in Leicester it has a huge Asian population none of those problems at all and no obvious racial tensions.

I lived in the U.S for 2 years. I'm quite familiar. I also am minoring in political science, and I know plenty about the U.S. That's still not evidence that Democrats committed voter fraud. I know that some people oppose proof of identification due to the fact that many Americans do not have the kind of photo I.D required to vote, and it may reduce participation. More than 20 million Americans do not currently have government-issued photo I.D. And photo ID can cost more than certain citizens can afford. These are some of the arguments I've heard, I do not necessarily agree.
As for the motivation to commit voter fraud, wouldn't Republicans have the same motivation? This seems rather biased.
