Was Skip a Baddie?

So in Angel Investigations there's a question asking why Skip was grouped in the Avatars with the Baddies.

Interesting question. I kind of liked him, but Skip you naughty demon you weren't playing nice.
 
He did both good and uhm, less good stuf, but willow was about to wipe out humanity in buffy, and i don't find her in the baddie avatar section, so i say he's a goodie!

He had a bad day! Not like Angel is any better on that department (he was torturing and about to kill giles with a chainsaw in becoming p. 2)

Really? I didn't know that. I haven't been to the avatars in so long.

What about Dark Willow, and Vamp Willow? Are there avatars for them? What section are they in? (Oh gosh. Now we should be back at AI. This is a tricky subject, isn't it?)

He wasn't Angel at that point, he was Angelus.
 
Angel and Angelus are both sides of the same coin. Btw, angel also killed a bunch of people in cold blood when he was Angel.


People have bad days.
 
See Angelus, Vamp Willow and Evil Willow are all different counterparts of individual characters. Sure you could have an avatar in the bad section for Angelus, Vamp Willow and Evil Willow, but there good counterparts would still be in the goodie people section.

I think its pretty obvious that Skip was bad. And I think it wasn't just a bad day for him, he probably led an evil life. If he was good, he wouldn't have tried to kill Fred or even done the dirty work of Jasmine.

Sure you could argue that Jasmine was good, but peace on earth vs. literally consuming people is still evil!

He was bad, bad, bad, bad!
 
It's about an established pattern of behavior. We've seen that Angel, with a few exceptions, is very much a good person, in fact, he's a selfless hero. The same cannot be said for Skip. What we have seen of him seems to suggest he's a 'baddie'.

Yes, I think he's evil, but I loved his character. The whole thing with the Matrix. "And then Triniti's like 'Dogde this'".
 
I thought I'd add a post as Skip was my av for a long time in the old pre-mod days🙂 He was just a mercenary, as I recall, and, although I thought he was just a working stiff when he first appeared, it turned out Evil was paying the most😉 Still a very cool character tho'...

Angel and Angelus may occupy the same body, but they are two different personalities entirely.

Most of those killed by Angel in cold blood were those who were working for the side of evil anyway. His mission was to fight against those types.

One bad day doesn't make someone bad...but if you consistently do bad things more so than good, you'd be labeled in the buffyverse as a baddie.
 
I just thought that Skip like a insider or something. He was some bad guy that pretended to be good so he can not be slayed by and PTB champions.

Angelus was torturing Giles. Angelus is evil, he doesn't have a soul, I definitely don't class him as the same person as Angel..not by a long shot!

I put Skip is a baddie, and I think Cordelia pointed out perfect quotes as to why! 😀
 
How is this even a question? A "bad day?" I think it was made quite clear that Skip had been working for Jasmine for a while, maybe since the beginning of time. Even when he did do some things that could be considered good at the time, it was always for an evil purpose and led to disastrous results. He didn't make Cordy into a demon because he was concerned for her well being. It was so that she could become the vessel for Jasmine. He was evil, plain and simple.

If you consider some of the choices a souled Angel had made, or Wes or Gunn, Skip was no more evil than the rest of them.

He was a good demon who made choices that had evil results.
 
It's easy to explain Cordelia. You just have to subscribe to the world vision "Good guys are bad. Bad Guys are good." Lilah good. Fred Bad. Pre chip Spike good. Post soul Spike bad.

At it's base it goes "Good is bad. Bad is Good."

After you get there, you're not supposed to think to much.
