What are your New Year's resolutions?

I was quite content and it was great for me after having a very difficult year full of far too much interaction. I read and meditated and had really long walks and did some yoga. It was like a cheap version of a retreat.

I have found that being around people is really detrimental to my mental health.

Sounds wonderful. You have done so well, your vids are so great and I hope the best for you. I cannot be around certain people, the type who judge me as insane because my comfort zone is solitary. Those who believe a womans purpose is to WANT a husband and children and since those things are not at all appealing to me - I must be defective. I must need treatment to change because being a wife and mother is all they value a woman for. I found the company I was in while living in Perth to be excessively pushy with their personal values. That if I was like them, I would be "fixed". Even moving hundreds of kilometres did not stop some from deciding I must need company, that using my home as a free holiday space was doing me a favour. It has been really hard to cut those people out as they think me saying NO is mental illness or loneliness talking. Its actually authentically me talking but no one respects that. Even here people say they "worry" about a woman alone. I worry I will be sucked into a life I will hate (again). I know my boundaries are very weak, after a leech like relationships that drained my soul.

It was interesting though that none of my family or friends heard from me for 8 days yet no one was worried or noticed I was off the grid. If I slipped and fell getting out the shower and died I would have stayed there until the neighbours complained about the stench or the locksmith came to change the locks after I neglected to pay rent.

Sometimes this crosses my mind too. I have a genetic heart condition that I have given up seeking treatment for, I get blood clots and am at high risk of stroke, most of my movement disorders and cyclic vomiting issues have resolved since ceasing psych medication but I still get monthly migraines (as my mother did) and am at times, very physically unwell. I will no longer push through that stuff for the benefit of others. I did that for far too long. I ignore the knocks on the door if I am meditating so visitors know that I do not always answer. The only way people would know I have passed is if they smell my rotting corpse. When I was so sick in withdrawal I worried terribly about the bunnies, I even put extra water and biscuits and hay out for them when I was at my worst incase I did pass, I didn't want them to starve to death too.

Honesty I know I am traumatised by what happened, but I cant trust anyone (in real life) to help me through this because they push medical treatment on me and I am quite content with living within my bodies boundaries and have no desire to prolong life. What I do want, is to be as pain free and comfortable as I can until my time is up. The pressures of society disregard how I choose to live and then I put that pressure on myself, to be better because that's what humans are supposed to do. Ugh so complicated.

I want to learn to block out all of those modern pressures - even one I have mentioned already - getting a job. I know most work is beyond me and I know I am not useless in all ways but that is how social interaction makes me feel. Its best for me to avoid that and ignore the messages that promote community engagement.

What's this, no New Years Resolutions? Try one of these;

You could try to take a close up photograph of one of the moons craters.

Or

Learn to play a Ukulele,
then play Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy on it.

That is how to do it.

Need to remember this in the new year

Ah yes, the famous words for the sixty year old virgin. Don't sit on the couch and wait for it.

I brought up the topic of a silent retreat years ago with my therapist, who said it was a bad idea and silence causes psychosis.

I've tried it, and it's very good for quieting the mind. I've found that a day or two of not speaking is amazing! I felt more peaceful and had more energy. Combine it with some deep breathing and it's even better.

Do you ever hear the little man giving you the answers?
Not really. But the only questions I ever really ask him is, "what's up? you had to go like five minutes ago and now that's I'm in front of the loo you don't have to go?"

I said this before, but I'm repeating it: I am going on my 'slash and burn' diet in January. I've put on at least 15 pounds since 2016 and I'm DEFINITELY going to drop it with a two months or less. I might even lose more, just for fun. I've got all of several pairs of jeans that I can't fit and I'm tired of it.

I think I'll get on the Bunny bandwagon and lose about 15 pounds too. Since moving jobs I've had less opportunity to cycle so if I don't get my arse in gear it'll start looking fat.

Also, to make more wooly stuff before the moths find it. At the moment I'm going back and trying knitted toe up socks again. I didn't like them much the first time because it doesn't give you many choices on how to do your heels. Sometimes people need more space in the heel and I've found an old fashioned cuff down French heel to work the best.

But I'm going back and giving those techniques I gave up on a second try. Maybe I'll be less frustrated now I supposedly know what I'm doing.

So do you make any? Did you this year?
What have you said to yourself and promised yourself or others to do?

Me... yet again.... I have gone down the healthy diet and exercise route, trying to make a better me for the Christmas season this year as I don't wanna look and feel the same as the Christmas just gone. I make this promise to myself every year but I do feel like I'm in a better place mentally this time so I've promised myself and mentioned to others, that I will improve and do something. I will go back to blogging my journey again with a brutally honest posts (started the Instagram ones already) and I get monitored by nightshade and nagged at to do more anyway so I'm sure she will do the same for me again this year (hehe). The only difference this year is I will not be doing a 'paid for' diet controlled regime... I'll be following a more diabetic (type 2) plan along with Abbs Dad who is actually Diabetic (diagnosed last March). So low on the carbs/sugar and bad fats.

I have let myself get into a poor routine and the Doc has said to me he is not happy with me and I have to change my path... so here I go...

What about you? Do you want to share anything honestly to help keep you motivated (members here will poke you about it and keep you positive if needed - as I know some do for me)?

good luck!!
I could go for a weird one this year, to have physical contact with Nix and Amber Bunny Slayer (at separate times of course),
and by physical contact, as a masochist, I'm thinking of them punching me. Hmmm physical contact!
