What do the writers want us to believe about Spuffy sex?

I quickly looked over the thread but didn't find anyone who might have mentioned this.

It's kind of disgustine so any minors please jump to the next thread.

We're talking sex here. We're talking sex with a vampire. A vampire that can't feed off humans at that point as well.

So Blood / Vamp / Sex / Woman - And this went on for how long? Their relationship lasted maybe 1/3 of the season so that's about 3 or 4 months.

What would usually stop a normal couple from having relations, happens once a month and would on the other-hand probably be a huge passion booster for a vampire?

Do I have to fill in the blanks here? I am a bloody cunning linguist but I really can't make it any plainer than that.

NASTY

PS. ....and if the writers never contemplated that someone would make this assumption I'd be so surprised.

ewwww... true! but still ewwww!
That is quite possibly the most brilliant yet simultaneously disgusting theory I've ever heard! Love it!

It is very interesting...I don't know if Buffy would be down though...at that time of the month. Who knows though. Anything is possible.

In reference to that possibly turning on a vampire...I don't know. I mean, it's a different thing then the blood they would drink...I don't think vampires would consiter it the same thing.

Would the Slayer even menstruate?

I mean we know that Nikki had a child but was that pre-calling.

I would think that pregnancy would impede the Slayer, the essense would possibly hold that off - and if thats the case, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't have a time of the month...call it another perk for dying young.

Hmm. Interesting idea. Well, that would make sense why Buff never got pregnant with all that sex she was having 😉 lol

Would it?

Riley looks the sort of guy that carries more protection gear than the riot police at a Manchester United vs Leeds United game being a boy scout and all that and Parkers one night stand, hmmm AND then we have the vampires who I assume fire blanks, if indeed they fire anything at all.

Buffy DID have herpes...got them from Parker...no wonder she chose vampires as sex buddies!

Oh, and Riley just probably thought they were mosquito bites...blockhead.

I'd think so, considering in School Hard Xander is looking through Buffy's bag and a load of tampons fall out.

This is a bizarre thread...

Forgot about that...
About the comment on my comment;

white avenger agrees: It was Angel who was the torturer and rapist. Spike was, by his own admission, "All about the kill."

Uhm... You seriously think that Spike never ever raped or tortured? He just killed, no pain, no suffering, just death? i have to say, he seems way too sadistic for that. Not patent enough to torture for days, but I doubt he has never hurt people "that" way. Just look at how he teased Willow before trying to bit her, and the "having" comment in lover's walk speaks volumes, and how he's generally cruel.

Of course he did all these things, he was bad for a long time, so he surely happened to rape or torture someone. Spike is my favourite character, but I dont think he was just Angelus' victim and wouldnt be to blame for all his actions. I hate people who just dont see that Spike was very evil before he got his soul. Many people wouldnt be that forgiving if he'd killed their mother or a friend.

Sorry for the offtopic. D:

As to Spike the rapist/torturer... isn't this at least very strongly implied in one S7 episode (don't remember which one, but definitely first half of the season) when he tells Buffy something like "You want to know what I've done to girls Dawn's age? Hurt them just enough to still keep them alive... because it's no fun if they don't cry?" (not a literal quote... even though this time it's just laziness on my part, as S7 is the only season I do have in the original version, lol) Certainly sounded to me like he's talking about torture by rape.

I agree. That's what I got out of that quote, too.
Couple of points.

I can't remember which episode it is but I think in Season 7 when Spike is chained up due to the manipulation by the first he talks about "Girls Dawn's age" and how he knew just how much to drink from them to damage them buy not kill them because it was only fun if they cried when he..... and he kind of leaves that hanging. Rape was obviously the implication.

And in the original Buffy movie there is a reference by Buffy's watcher about Buffy's menstration and how the blood yadda yadda yadda could help her sense a vampire. (I hardly even consider the original movie to be part of the story but I guess it is considered canon and it's in there)

As far as any other speculation on what did and didn't go on between them, I don't think the bondage thing is a possibility. When they are under the carpet in Spike's lair he holds up a pair of handcuffs and asks, "Do you trust me?" Buffy answers - "Never"

To add credibility to my EEEEEWWWWWW theory, it wouldn't be the first time in Vampire fiction either. In Anne Rice's "Menoch the Devil" The Vampire Lestat mixes pleasure with dinner in one of the last scenes of the book (cannot remeber who was the Un / Lucky lady though.)

The last time I mixed pleasure with dinner I couldn't finish my clam chowder soup...
Vamps doing slayers, slayer blood...doesn't it have some "special" power for vamps? I mean it was the antidote that saved Angel, etc.

And I can imagine why Buffy said to Tara "Why did I let Spike do those things to me?" if some, er...blood was involved. I mean, that's some kinky vamp/human sex yeah?

Her scenes with Angel and Spike were hot...then Andrew's "room temperature" line brought up the reality of a vamp lover... they don't breathe, their hearts don't beat and their bodies are...room temperature. Hmmm. That must be really weird, to have sex with an animated dead guy...in a crypt...I mean, no wonder she was disgusted. All we saw was the hot steamy, she experienced the reality of a cold, no heart beating lover. And not only that, but she preferred it to Riley.

No wonder Riley decided he had to experience some of that for himself. He must have found it totally repulsive and bizarre that she could get a thrill from coupling with a cold, breathless, no pulse vampire, and worse, that it was more thrilling to her than his own hot muscled body was. That's gotta hurt.

Yeah, in the original film, Merrick tells her she will get cramps when a vampire is approaching her, and this should warn her of his presence. Pretty bad storyline, I know...I think I blocked it out lol until I was reminded if it again here.

Yes. So the Slayer does menstruate. The tampon thing in School Hard proves that 🙂

I'm always down to talk about strange things like this though. 🙂

I am seriously questioning the handcuff thing though. What I believed in is being brought into question...so no more comments on that now.

I've heard others say that so I've watched and rewatched that scene and I don't think that's it. No marks, and she had just said "never" to Spike about the trust thing. Then they showed HIM cuffed, but not her.

I really think the writers would have been clear if she'd changed her mind, since they'd made an issue of it, and the cuffs represented trust, a theme that came up over and over again in Spuffy.

I might be wrong, but I've tried, and can't see what she is doing with her hands as anything more than nerves.

Anyone else on this scene?

So, I've been rewatching the scene in Dead Things with Buffy and Tara in the DoubleMeat Palace break room and...
Buffy says to Tara, "He can hurt me". She then looks like she's spacing out thinking about something, and then the camera pans down (a move to emphasize something) and she conciously looks down at her hands. Her right hand is obviously rubbing her left wrist. There's really no argument there. She then, self-conciously, puts her hands behind her back, as if she doesn't want Tara to see that she is rubbing them. I did think it it was nerves before, but now that I watch it more closely I think that indeed she did allow Spike to tie her up.
I think her comment about "Never" trusting him is confusing though. All I can make of that is, possibly for her, trust is not needed for tying her up? She's lying? I don't know. I don't think such a thing would be implied if it wasn't sopposed to be taken seriously.

What do you all think of this?

I encourage you all to give his scene a closer look before you disregard him also having tied her up. 😉

Also, when Willow says "We know you've been all tied up" Buffy looks scared, like Willow knows...

Also...this trust thing is tricky. I think she might trust him more then she likes to admit. Afterall, she does "trust him" to figure out the whole incident with Katrina and goes home to bed. I know she does go ahead and attempt to turn herself in later, but intially, she lets it go into his hands.

As a last parting comment, I think "Dead Things" is a super-hot episode...anyone agree?

Ok. I have one more thing to add. Than I'm done, I swear 🙂

If Buffy so strongly doesn't love Spike, why doesn't she say so? Tara straight-up asks her and she says nothing. Interesting, eh? Before, she's been so adament about preclaiming her hate for him - why not now?

As much as I believe Buff didn't love Spike, there are arguments against that. But that, I guess, is for another thread. 🙂

Also, I must add about Dead Things. When Buffy is hitting Spike in the alley, he says: "You always hurt the ones you love". Then, in the end of the episode when Buffy says it was Warren who killed Katrina and someone (can't rememebr who) asks her how she knows, and she quotes Spike by saying "You always hurt the ones you love". Meaning, Buffy agrees with Spike about it. And the fact that she said that is another proof for her loving Spike. She did hurt the one she loved.

It COULD be proof that she loves Spike. To be honest, only she knows. But you know, I bumped into this guy the other day, in the supermarket, and it might have hurt him, but I'm pretty sure I don't love him...
