Oooh, lol, how do you really feel about it?! Lol, i completely disagee and will post my reasons why later coz i gotta go! But buffy is just exploting the world - shes only had 4 sexual partners, for G-ds sake!

😀

the sex in this seasons buffy is just the shows way of showing its growing up.this season is about emotional turmoil and sex always involves emotional turmoil

To me it seems a weak and implausible line for the show to follow. Done a million times before and quite honestly done much better. Buffy has far more to offer than these sordid half-stories.

I dont know - i think its part of her growing up - its not as if shes a tart. Plus, i think its been part of a good storyline with her and spike. I think you are too harsh.

😀

I'm not saying people shouldn't enjoy television of this sort I'm just saying that Buffy is far above this sort of thing. We haven't seen any really unique writing this season which is something that usually sets Buffy apart from the competition. And with great new TV series like 24 and Alias debuting this year they really needed to keep the momentum going after the season 5 finale.

I dont think its true, about the no-unique writing. The example that really springs to mind is "Normal Again" - this was a classic episode with very Very VERY good writing! It was so clever, such as when she had been out of the sunnydale hallucinations "once last summer" - ie when she died, was in heaven = heaven coz she was with her mum and dad who were together! Also, the doctor explaining how weird it was that dawn was 'invented' after 5 years without her, as if she had been there the whole time. Here, this was clever and very funny and in that entire episode, joss was making fun of his entire show and creation by making the doctor say "a vampire slayer?! Dont be ridiculous!"
I definetly do not hate this season, i have enjoyed them all, and DarkAngel, while i enjoyed Glory and all, that storyline started to get on my nerves after a while slightly, although the finale was fab!

😀

PS *phew*

😉

I think the best word that I can use to describe this season is: Depressing. It's just so sad and it's gotten really annoying. I don't like it all happy and comedy and stuff, but it's gotten to dark. They need to find a better balance.

I loved the musical, and that's about the only episode this season that could make it into my all time top ten. L:ighten it up a bit Joss!!!

They are just growing up and finding themselves, i think. Its a natural progression for the moment.

OMWF was fabulous. After that though, things really slowed down IMO. I could only give most eps a casual once over viewing, which is not the way I normally watch buffy eps. I definitely agree that this season has been super depressing which is probably a big reason why I havent really loved it. Things started to pick up a bit w/ Hells Bells (though still depressing) and Normal Again. And OMG Seein' RED! I still think "HOLY $^*%!" is the appropriate response. I've watched it three times since I first saw it yesterday and I am prolly gonna watch it again later instead of studying. I thought it was an amazing ep even if I didnt like what happened. If these last 3 eps can be as good then season 6 can be salvaged for me. After all I thought the first half of season 5 was dull, but on whole its prolly my favorite season. I just hope that next year they don't keep us waiting so damn long for the season to get going w/ good material.

I definetly dont agree! Season 5 was ok for me, and i have enjoyed all of this season! OMWF was fabulous! The best!
Seeing Red showed just how good they all can act!

😀

there's more good than bad.and i still think its going to watch better in retrospect.when you can put all things in context.and not have to wait a week to get over a bad episode.sure its been depressing but that seems to be the price of ressurection.also a slayers life is always going to be a tragedy cos they die young,so the closer we get to that end the more intense its going to be.the more out of place stupid things are going to seem .

I think its just the characters developing and exploring life. Yes, its been darker. More depressing. And less physical fighting but i agree, Gunn. Buffy has been heading to her death as soon as she was born. I guess all humans are, but thats another, more philosphical (and negative and depressing) debate!
Ive loved it all, though!

Probably the best season since Season 2!

I really like the way the show has been going. Theres lots of character development, and less focus on random fights. The three nerds being the only villains, theres been no real threat of evil, and it just goes to show that Buffy isn't quite on the ball any more since she couldn't even take care of them for the longest time. (Remember, this is someone who defeated a hell-god.)

I think the thing with Spike was interesting, but predictable even from all the way back in Season 4. (Which was probably the worst season ever...) I also like that Riley has been fairly absent from this season, he was a horribly bland character, and the whole initiative thing was kind of silly. The two most recent episodes ("Seeing Red", "Villains") have been great! "Seeing Red" finally gave closure to most of the nerd crap, and the ending was spectacular for obvious reasons. "Villains" was just great because of evil Willow. (And the quote from her vampire self, "Bored now...") I can't wait to see her and Buffy show-down in the finale, but I expect someone will talk Willow down just before either her or Buffy go down. I just wonder if Spike will be back in Sunnydale before the end....

You said a lot of interesting things there, Perigon 🙂
I find it interesting and unusual that you have thought it has been the best since season 2! Most people (myself NOT included) have felt that season 6 has been below standard, save a few episodes at the end, and near the beginning.
Personally, i have ::heart::d every minute, and have thought the interesting character development was clever and entertaining, and that the fact it has not focussed on "random evil" has been good and different.
It is fair enough that she has not been "quite on the ball" as i imagine the whole resurrection thing was quite strenuous . . . lol, i dont think her powers have weakened, she just needs to get motivated again and to start to enjoy and experience life again!
I agree, season 4 was probably the worst. Riley was more than bland, he had no spark, no 'special something' like angel and spike have.
"Seeing Red" was brilliant, and i cant wait till tonight when i see "Villians"!

PS I havent seen you around, welcome!
