Hello fellow Bangeleers. 😀 So, most of you probably noticed that I posted a thread in the Spuffy section of the boards asking what Spuffies didn't like about Spuffy. Well, to be fair, I decided to post another one for the Bangel. Only, you know, about Bangel. Not Spuffy. 😀

Ok, so here's why: As Bangel fans, we always try to highlight what we enjoy about Bangel. In debates, in fanfiction, in fan videos, everywhere. Why? Because we love Bangel, and we like to think about the best parts of it rather than the worst parts.

But I feel that in order to truly love and understand a 'ship you need to accept and love it's faults and weaknesses as much as you love all the good stuff. It's ALL a part of what makes Bangel the beauty that it is. So, here's the thread where you can post whatever it is about Bangel the just irks you for whatever reason, if in fact anything annoys you at all. 😀

Ok, me: Well, I've never really enjoyed the way that they lash out at each other when they fight, like in Prom. It's so vicious. 🙁

I also wasn't a big fan of how Angel was following her around everywhere in the beginning. Yes, he had good intentions, but seriously, creepy much? 😀

And... That's about it for now. And remember guys, I know that we're talking faults here, but please no bashing. Thank you!

The Prom is a an amazing episode...truly sad, but great. Well it is natural that they fight cause Buffy wants Angel in her life forever and she can't deal with the fact that their life together has many obstacles.

And about the following around. I think I have talked about this before but what people don't understand is that Angel is not some kind of a stalker. He had to get close to Buffy slowly and very carefully. He had to make her trust him cause he wanted to help her. He had to hide the fact that he is a vampire. And besides, he follows her cause he is trying to help her in case danger appears. In "Angel" he was there to help her from the "three". In "welcome to the hellmouth" he gave her the cross and he warned her about the harvest. If Buffy asked him to stay away from her I am more than certain that Angel would still watch her from afar, trying to protect her, love her from afar.

And to be honest, I think I like everything about Bangel. The only moment which was very hard to watch, was sending Angel to hell, and Sanctuary when they both fight seriously. But in "The Yoko Factor" Angel came back to apologise and they reconciled!🙂

I agree about The Prom thing. Buffy's way vicious when it comes to fighting with him.

Same goes for Sanctuary. I HATE their fight in that episode. It was just so... cringe-worthy to watch as a Bangel. It hurt my feelings 🙁 lol

I also don't like how Buffy thinks she couldn't trust Angel. He did keep his past pretty much hidden, BUT he has told her before that if she ever wants to know anything, all she has to do is ask. Besides that, the one time she did ask (about Drusilla) she didn't respond very well to it and got really wigged out. lol

Man, this is hard to do 😛 I love Bangel so much 😀

Hmmm... and, I don't like that we didn't get to see more happy moments with them.

... That's it, I guess. 😛

The thing about Dru...I think it was what every girl in love would feel if she watched her boyfriend with a beautiful woman in the middle of the night, right? 🙂 That's why she said that she wouldn't trust him.

And yeah, Buffy can be vicious when she fights with him! All the words she said in Sanctuary ending, that she found someone new, that she could trust...I was like"poor Angel!!!"...the look on his face...and his expression when Faith mentioned a "new boyfriend" in Buffy's life!

Lashing out is something I don't like about Buffy, not Bangel. Angel was pretty much 'level-headed guy' and only called her out when she deserved it like in Sanctuary.

The only thing that I find annoying about Bangel is the way in which they spent so much time denying their feelings for each other. Nothing annoys me in relationships, to be honest. It obviously works as a plot device but it just leaves sitting there going 'duh' at several points in season two when Buffy's all 'I don't know if he likes me blah blah blah'.

Other than that, the fact they're not together is a bit annoying 😉

I agree.
I'm going to sound like a Bangel!Nazi no matter how I say this but I seriously cannot think of anything about Bangel that I don't like. Every moment they have shared has had a purpose. I wouldn't take any of it back.

My problem is always with how other people view Bangel and how they miss what I believe to be the beauty of the ship. The whole highschool, first love thing does my head in.

I suppose if I was pushed I would say that I don't like how they were separated during season 6. The reasons 100% couldn't be helped but I always felt it would have been more true to the characters to have Angel come and try and help Buffy once she had been returned from Heaven.

There's not a lot I don't like either to be honest. And I was also contemplating saying something pretty similar to what you said about how Bangel is treated by others, that is honestly what I find most irritating.

And your mention of season six - I don't like we didn't get to see or hear of that interaction. There were blatantly smoochies!

Well I figure I have said about a thousand other times in other threads so what's once more? 😉

Ya, know I don't really know if there were smoochies. Maybe a tender kiss to her forehead, definite snuggling, but I just can't imagine him initiating smoochies. I feel like the two of them, in that situation, would have been delicate, fragile almost.

Don't take my smoochies away from me!

I do kind of agree though. I didn't mean sloppy passionate kisses but kinda (excuse me using Leyton but it's got to be done) Lucas/Peyton high school shooting kiss, full of need to remember the connection if you see what I mean? Not passionate and lustful and full of desire but because it feels...natural?

Foreveresque?

Anytime I picture that "meet you halfway" rendevouz I always picture them under a tree like in Forever.

Yes, definitely like it was in Forever. 🙂

Do you think she told him about the heaven thing? I think she would have done. I kind of see a 'I know how it feels being in a hell dimension' from Angel and Buffy even if she didn't offer that information straight away, would not get away with lying to him, he'd be able to tell. He could always tell.

Honestly? I have always firmly believed he knew she was in Heaven. I have a couple of reasons for this: 1) if he thought that she went to anywhere other than Heaven when she died than he would have been storming the gates of Hell to pull her out. There is nothing that could convince me that he could make peace with her death thinking she was anywhere other than somewhere good. 2) I think if she was in Hell he would have smelt it off her. Ok, stretch I know, but I would assume Hell has a certain stench that Angel would have been intimately familiar with.

It was Willow that made the Hell assumption, I don't think Angel would have jumped to those (ridiculous) conclusions.

I always believed that too. No way on Earth Angel doesn't try to bring her back himself if he has even the smallest suspicion that she's in hell.

lol, I like that theory. A lot, actually. I would have LOVED to have seen that play out on screen, seriously. Safe to say Spuffy would never exist if that's how the start of season six went down 😉

/me ponders...that could make a nice AU fanfic...😛

LOL

This what I take as my established headcanon. I don't even entertain the thought of anything else!

Honestly, if season 6 was done my way then this meeting never would have happened at all. Angel would have been in Sunnydale the night she was resurrected.

😀

I don't like how she can control him. Like she's the guy in their relathionship. Like he can't say anything. That's why I liked him in Amends, he stand up for himself. To be honest, I like most of it. I don't like when they fight, some harsh words come out of their mouths.

Really there's not very much that bugged me about Buffy & Angel's relationship, except for possible the age difference at the beginning of there relationship.

And no I don't mean the 240+ that seperates them. I'm referring to the fact that Angel was made a Vampire in his mid 20's(26 to be exact), however when he and Buffy started dating she was just 16.

However - I didn't have those same concerns - by the time she was 18(since she's technically an Adult).

I agree about the s6, what Kean said. If networks could work this out, we deserved to see their meeting, or a guest starring later by Angel. Cause Buffy was going through very hard times.( and yeah if Angel was there, spuffy would absolutely never happen...I actually have sth else in mind...but I can only dream about it!!!)

And about the heaven thing, I also believe Buffy told him.She could always confide in him , like she did in Forever when she told him about what she was afraid of and what the doctor said about her mom.
I have read a wonderful and very sad fan fiction about that meeting we never saw on screen and Buffy confides in him. Besides, she died to save her sister and the world. Truly, there was no other place she could have been apart from heaven🙂

And Flannen, yeah Buffy was insecure in season 2 about angel really liking her. Was she blind??? the Man(pire) was crazy about her!!!
But I really understand her doubts. Angel is older, much more experienced with women and Buffy was a young girl, with no real experience. She didn't know what Angel liked or wanted.I found it really cute that she tried to be more girly in Halloween, but what Angel really likes is the fact that Buffy is independent and smart and not just a beautiful girl. The great thing they had in common is that they are each other's first and true love.

I don't like how in " Sanctuary," she hit him and then when he hit her she started acting hypocritical by saying that it was very wrong of him to hit her, but it wasn't that wrong when she did it to him first.

FINALLY someone brings that up! That annoyed me SO much.
I was so happy when I Sanctuary Angel finally stood up for himself.

What I don't like about Bangel is the upsetting moments always seem to completely outweigh the happy ones. It just doesn't feel like they ever got any time to just be happy together.
