Who will be watching Cabin in the Woods?

I probably wont watch it. It doesn't sound like my kind of film, and I'm not gonna watch it just because Joss produced it 😛

Can't watch it, it's an horror movie... But I'm sure it's great, though.

I'll probably go watch it. First I didn't think it would be good and just some typical teen horror flick. And those usually suck.
But I read some pretty good reviews. Hope it's really as good as everyone says.

JCoatsworth agrees: why can't you watch it?

Because horror movies give me nightmares. I can,t watch the entire old Scream movies and the scariest movies I can watch are Valentine's Day (because it's not that scary) and The Covenant (because apart from the spiders it's not scary either)...

It was awesome. The audience I was with loved every minute and I haven't come out of a theater where people were talking about how good the movie was as they walked out of the theater in a long time. Even non horror fans can appreciate it and I think it's some of the sharpest work Joss has done in a while. Very quotable movie too.

Same here. It was great I don't think anyone walking out of the theatre seemed displeased.

Oh, OK. Well, then don't watch The Exorcist or The Evil Dead 😉

haha the evil dead and the exorcist are quite different ;)

See this is where I'm stupid because they give me nightmares and scare the crap out of me yet I go see them anyway 😛

I'm hopefully going to see Cabin in the Woods tonight! I'm looking forward to it!

I was lucky enough to see an advanced screening of Cabin in the Woods last week, and it was amazing. I wasn't too excited to see it at first (I mostly went because Drew Goddard and Amy Acker were doing a Q&A afterwards, and I was dying to meet Amy) but WOW. It was honestly the most fun I've had in a movie theater in a long time. I'm not even a horror movie person and I thought it was fantastic. My advice: even if you're skeptical about the quality, unimpressed with the trailer, or not that into horror movies, watch it if you get a chance! It's definitely worth it and it blew my doubts out of the water.

I saw it Saturday night and I think I can definitely see why it would come across as one of those 'you either love it or you hate it' films, but fortunately I loved it! Our screening seemed to have mixed reviews though. One guy behind me was all "you'd have to be stoned to understand that movie" and I've seen a bunch of reviews where people say they don't understand what happens but I don't get how, it seemed fairly clear to me. But then again maybe I'm missing something 😛 Anyway, I really enjoyed it and I loved Fran Kranz in it. he was by far my favourite person in it and that's a lot to say considering Chris Hemsworth is in it 😛

If its still out on Saturday the 28th April I'll be going watching it. I'm a total wuss when it comes to horror films so I'm expecting to have a few sleepless nights after I watch it 🙂

haha me too
I saw Cabin last weekend and thought it was amazing. The story was brilliant and dialogue felt very Whedon-y. If you are on the fence about going to see it, I would definitely recommend that you go.

It's like Drew Goddard wrote the story and Joss wrote the script. Really worth a watch
I saw this last night and really enjoyed it, it wasn't perfect but nothing is, defo a 8 or 9 out of 10... a brilliant film. I would definitely recommend watching it.

I haven't gone out to see it yet, but some people I know hated the ending. They felt like it ruined the entire film. They also said the dialogue was awkward and horrible at times. I'll attest to that: the majority of the uninformed just don't know how Joss speaks. It goes over their head. 😉

There were a couple moments in it where I was thinking, 'if you're not into Joss then this is probably gonna be lost on you'. I sometimes think you have to be on the sort of... Joss Wavelength to get his work, which thankfully we are, but for others I can see them being like... WHAT? 😛

Exactly. It's like this exclusive club we're in. I kinda like it that way. ;)

One of my friends has been to see it and he said the same thing about the ending but other than that he loved it and he's not a Joss fan 🙂

Haha. I'm going to have to see it for myself, I might find the ending genius. I dunno? :p
Recently, I've been following some reviews and ratings of the movie.
It's doing really well on imdb.com 8.2 is a very good rating for a movie with nearly 10,000 votes!
I just can't wait to watch it!

This Year's Girl
you my good sir are mistaken - sooo scary :D
I'm not going to see it. I gave up watching horror films when I was 17 because I realised they scared the crap out of me way to much. One of the best decisions I ever made - I'm way less paranoid now when I'm in the shower 😀

Well, come on, Psycho is an awesome movie and not that scary :)

ironic, since that is when we're watching you :P

I quite liked the ending but for reasons I can't really say without being spoilery...

If you read this and you haven't seen it, not only I, but JOSS HIMSELF will be very disappointed in you 😉
Just the fact that it was kinda... like they just decided to not be all noble and self sacrificey like is expected. It was just like, bugger the world, I'm living! And I liked that, I thought it was refreshing! And as for all the monsters, well I liked it. I can see why that might throw some people but I thought it was cool!

Horror films scare the crap out of me too but I didn't find this particularly scary! I thought it was on Scream levels of scaryness. Those kind of films don't scare me, but gimme a creepy dead Japanese girl and I'm outta there.

I liked the idea of the ending, although I don't think it was executed as well as it could be, but still the idea behind the ending is great.
