Who would play Fray - Part 2

The big old controversy thing is if she looks innocent enough. A good actress can play any part, and she is a good actress, but you gotta look at how they look too. I'll keep her in mind though 🙂 She does have the eyes and the skin color thing going on though lol.

Although I like Fairuza for the role, I remembered something about Natalie Portman. Joss' originalconception of how Melaka should look was loosely based on Natalie Portman as Matilda in The Professional.

Now, I know that she usually looks too meek, but I found some pictures that suggest she could really pull it off... I think she needs a harder voice though.

Can I just ask where you got the idea that Mel was an innocent? She's a street-hardened professional thief who's seen death up close and personal in a far-from-cosy future dystopia, unless I read a completely different comic 😉 Or is it just an innocent look you're after for your virtual actress?

I'm not sure that's correct. I think someone was complaining Scarlet Johansen looked too innocent for the role of Melaka, then someone else (me) made the point a superior actress like Johansen can get past that, just as Charlize Theron did in Monster. Isn't that the way it went?

And as far as casting other characters goes, Jake Gyllanhal (SP?) from Donnie Darko is my choice for Harth. He could defintely play evil and young.

Has anyone seen the move movie Thirteen? I suggest Nikki Reed, who played the bad girl.

For Harth, I always saw the guy who played Connor (can't spell his name)

Vincent Kartheiser for Harth? Hmm... Maybe, I could consider that. I was thinking about someone like Ethan Embry maybe, kind of goofy?

(N4H- I saw Thirteen at Sundance last year, I thought it was interesting, and presented some real issues to think about, but I wasn't as crazy abou it as everyone seems to be now).

Nikki Reed is the little dark one. (She co-wrote Thirteen). The taller one is the co-star of Thirteen, Evan Rachel Wood (another possible Melaka).

Thora Birch looks really familiar. What was she in? Why would we yell for you submitting someone?

I've seen a few of her movies. She reminds me of Michelle Trachtenberg when you look at her official website. Not sure how she'd do in the role though. You have any thoughts on why you think she'd be good for the part?
