As we all know it's not very long until the 2012 Olympics begin. I was wondering if anyone was looking forward to it, not bothered or indifferent? Will you watch it? And what parts are you're favourite?

Personally I feel a bit meh about it at the moment but I'm sure I'll get into it more once it begins. I did get very excited when the Olympic torch came round at work and we were all having our pictures taken with it 🙂 I like to watch the gymnastics most of all. I love to see the gymnastics performing on the mats and the bar the most, I love the performances and how they chuck themselves around so effortlessly.

So tell me what you think guys...

I love the Olympics, winter and summer. Love them. I don't follow most of the sports during the off years or anything, but when they role around I'm super into them. For the last four or five Olympic Games I've taken a full day, spared no expense on the snackage and watched Olympic coverage all day.

It'll be tougher for me this year. I'm moving down to Santa Barbara at the beginning of August, smack in the middle of the Games, but I'm going to try and watch as much of it as I can. I love watching the gymnastics events, those are always breathtaking.

I love just about everything to do with the Olympics (yes, even the advertising🙂), so I'm pretty pumped.

I like watching the opening and closing ceremonies, and the swimming. Not sure I'll be tuning in all that regularly, though, because of the time zone differences.

I love watching the swimming as well
I love watching sport on TV so the Olympics is my idea of heaven for 3 weeks. Because it's in the same time zone as me I will mis some as I will be working, so there will be lots of use of the BBC iPlayer and other catch-up services. Can't wait!

I'll watch them whenever I can and I especially look forward to the diving competition. Alexandre Despaties needs to win *nod incessantly*

I will most likely watch some of it, not all of it, but i do find i get addicted once i've started watching things like that. the torch came around my local town at the weekend but i missed it which was a shame but never mind.

I like the gymnastics the best.

To Boycott or not to Boycott?

Ever since last year and the widespread Chinese bias, I've largely decided to Boycott it.

China, suspiciously, won most of the Golds in 2008

Some of the controversial rulings were concerning premitting the underage He Kexin to participate in gymnastics, not awarding points to Kenneth Egan in the boxing, and probably most controversially how Ara Abrahamian was treated.

I will however be watching the Archery, Skeet, prone rifle and fencing though.

One of the medallists in the Archery in 2008 Olympics was even pregnant!

The Skeet, incredible skill, the target is moving quite fast.

The fencing

Kleibrinkthe lefty lol, like myself

& what I participated in myself from time to time when I was in College, prone rifle shooting, naturally was only at ''intervarsity'' level, watching the pros sure puts me to shame. 🙂

Honestly I feel meh about the Olympics. I'll probably watch the swimming, gymnastics, and some of the track events. Otherwise I was way more excited about the Euros.

I may watch the gymnastics portion but I'm not a big fan of the Olympics. None of us in my house are big sports fanatics, so we don't get into it.

I've recently realised that the olympics starts during my summer vacation.
That wasn't my plan or anything but will most likely mean that I will watch quite a lot of it.

I will at least have it on in the background and take a glance whenever something fun seems to happening.

I couldn't care less about sports. Maybe I'd like to watch (little of) them live, but watching ANY sports on TV bores me to death. 🙂

I love the Olympics so I will definitely be watching as much of them as possible! 🙂 I enjoy watching sports as it is, but I've always really enjoyed getting to watch other athletics that aren't typically widely televised. Some of my favorite (summer) olympic events are aquatics, gymnastics and rowing.

I'm really interested to see how Phelps does, especially with how well Lochte has been doing.

I love the Olympics ! I was so disappointed I couldn't watch them in 2008, and I probably won't see a lot this year, as I'm going to go camping. Still, I'll see as much as I can, especially horseriding (all categories), athletics, fight sports, swimming and I'll be supporting the french feminine soccer team (because men suck). But then I love watching every kind of sport.

I'll probably watch some of it, but I'm working a lot so I won't get to see much.

We've got the US and Jamaican athletics teams staying in Birmingham at the moment, and a few of the US have come to change some dollars... they're all very friendly and scarily fit looking, lol.

I still can't believe you guys stole the Olympics from us though. That's naughty x)
I don't really care much about sports at all. I do enjoy watching the winter olympics (hockey and curling) though. So no, I wont be watching the London Olympics 🙂

I'm not as big of a fan of the Summer Olympics as I am with the Winter Olympics.
I'll probably be watching a few sport events (swimming, track, basketball, volleyball) and the opening/closing ceremonies. That's all that I'm interested in anyways.

But when the Winter Olympics are around the corner... I'll be fully expressing my spirit and will be cheering my head off for my country- CANADA!

We've got 3 OKC basketball players on the USA team (and one on Spain's team), and we've got 13 Sooners going. Heck yeah I'll be watching!

The olympics. The time when we care about sports we hardly knew existed.

In my teens this would probably have been a huge deal now not so much. Maybe because you can watch more or less everything on tv or online these days. You get spoiled.

I'll watch some football (soccer :cussing🙂 and maybe some basketball and tennis but besides that everything else will probably be by coincidence.

I'll watch the Swimming because I used to do a lot of swimming and about 15 years ago (I was 13) I knew a few members of the Great Britain swim team because I'd swam with them in squad.

Other than that I'm not really bothered. I'll watch the athletics if that's on but I wont be upset if I miss it.
