Will you be watching the London Olympics 2012?

I only ended up watching the last hour or so of the opening ceremony when the teams were coming out and that was it.

Bad thing is i'm missing a lot of the early morning things with doing early shifts at work, but i still get to see a good 9 or so hours a day lol.

China are doing amazing so far.

China (1) - 6 Gold - 2 Silver - 2 Bronze
USA (2) - 2 Gold - 3 Silver - 2 Bronze

Lizzie Armitstead wins Great Britain's first medal! Considering that we live in a town of around 13,000 I'm quite proud of little Otley just now.

Yes, the first two days have been a bit of a disappointment but gold will come- after Saturday the important thing was just to get a couple of medals wherever they could be found to take some pressure off the team.
 
I watched the women's teams gymnastics all morning today and it was just incredible. Canada got into the finals! The gymnastics are my favorite events to watch, so it's been pretty fun to see.
 
For France, in one day:

Two gold medals : Camille Muffat (400 m freestyle), and the boys for 4x100m freestyle
One silver medal: Céline Goberville (10 air pistol)
One bronze medal: Priscilla Gneto (judo)

Colour me pleased (besides, it won't last long so I'm savoring it)
 
I'm really upset that I missed the women's gymnastics as its my favourite. I'll have to see if I can find it on BBC iplayer. I did watch a good 2 hours of the opening ceremony though. It was good.
 
I have spent the last two and a half days switching between two chairs. One in front of the TV where the Olympics is on from the moment I get until I go to bed and the other chair is at the computer so I can mess about online. A most productive weekend, I feel 🙂
 
Team GB are having a shocker! I think its because of all the pressure and all the hype that we were going to have such and such a gold in such and such an event. I hope we get a Gold medal soon though.

I'm watching more of it than I planned to do 🙂
 
I'm watching it all day, whenever I'm at home. Starting at 5am (on mute) when I get up for work and as soon as I'm back, I open the tv again.

Still no new medals for Canada, but the diving competitions aren't really starting before Wednesday. I'm pretty sure Alexandre Despatie, François Imbault-Dulac, Ruben Ross, Riley McCormick, Eric Sehn, Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Fillion will take back some medals 😀

I sure hope so, because we seem to be lacking the Olympic spirit that we had in Vancouver. 🙁
 
I love the Olympics! The coverage here on free to air tv has been terrible though, Im quite disappointed, and wishing more than ever that I had unlimited downloads so I could stream it online. They put some equestrian on last night so I was happy for that.

My fav sports are Equestrian, gymnastics, rowing and water polo. The hype around the Australian team hasnt been as big as usual, so we obviously wernt expecting too much this time round. There is huge controversy in the equestrian dressage team, so I'll be interested to see how they go. We didnt go too well in the cross country in the eventing, had a couple of falls, the riders just wernt careful enough/unlucky on the slippery course. But its really inspired me to improve my riding.

I hope the athletes enjoy themselves, there is nothing quite like the olympics!

I think we'll always be better in Winter Olympics than in Summer ones. Must be the snow and cold weather 7 months-a-year 😉
 
I've been getting really Into the Women's Swimming, although soccer is still the thing I look forward to the most.
The US Swim Team made a funny singing video about "Call Me Maybe" that made me very fond of our swimmers.
Also, a bit of quick trivia: This is the first time in Olympic history that all teams/countries have had women competing in events.
Go Olympics 2012! USA! USA!
 
I'm just about getting 9-10 hours or so on T.V daily lol.

Still I'm just going between events. Seen the mens Athletics with GB winning Bronze (should have been Silver!)

Do agree though, there are huge expectations on GB to win in events that others are 10x better at.

LOL!

That's no excuse though. 😛 Even if we're the greatest at the Winter Olympics, the Olympic spirit should be carried into the Summer ones as well.

On that note, Canada won another Bronze so hopefully we'll be able to pick it up. 🙂
 
I cant believe Michael Phelps has won his 19th medal! That is just incredible!

Team GB are now 23rd in the Medal Table with only 4 medals, none of which are Gold 🙁

The thing I'm not liking at the minute are the allegations that some of the swimmers are taking drugs. I thought they were tested regularly for that anyway?

Michael Phelps: That's insane!! Good for him, though. 🙂

We are probably tied with you...maybe? We only have four medals ourselves, all of them Bronze. 🙁
 
Michael Phelps is just incredible.

I've been watching Olympic coverage most of today. Water polo, beach volleyball, rowing and the rapids rowing have been on the most.

I'm pumped for the women's team gymnastics finals, which are being shown in Canada later tonight. We've got a real shot at a medal! Only four bronze so far, so I'm itching for us to pick it up.

And, I don't care who it is, but someone has to beat China in the overall medal standings.
