World Cup 2018 thread: Let the Wars begin...

I looked for this Topic before posting my own related to the Soccer tournament but it was not in my 'forum dungeon version' then. After posting mine this thread was brought in from one of the other Levels. Also, I 'accidentally' posted my Soccer thread twice which was merged into one (as expected) with the reason given that one Soccer World Cup thread is enough. Abiding by these 'standards', here I am. Thanks for the invite. 😀

Since the 'automated system', up until now, has programming that causes my loss to supercede anything else. I am now going to start betting with the new (illegal but legal) gambling sportsbars here in Germany. So, when I begin betting on Germany, England, Brazil, etc, we should be left with two Underdogs in the finals including Russia. Bye bye England!
 
Hard fought efforts by both Morocco and Iran tonight. Spain were very lucky to escape with a draw and top the group. Thought Iran did well overall to get four points from a group with Spain and Portugal in it. Think justice was sort of done in the end in their game. VAR again wrecking havoc🙄
 
History has been made! Germany deserve to go out for how they've played the last three games. Only played anywhere near their best in the second half against Sweden. But lets talk about the positives. South Korea were brilliant. One of the great World Cup upsets and great for them to sign off with a famous win and to finish above the Germans. Certainly think its justice that Mexico have gone through.
 
God Bless South Korea! Lol. I can’t believe we won against Germany and lost so handedly to Sweden! Crazy World Cup.

Wasn't it only 1-0 against Sweden? Think you've been in games at least. Guess the pressure was off yesterday which helps. Something for you build on for future tournaments at least.

I mean Mex lost to Sweden 0-3.

Think that is the test for Mexico going one step further than previous tournaments. You never know. Brazil have been very hit and miss so far. You just have to make sure than if they have a off day to take advantage.

England were already through after destroying Tunisia and Panama. They let Belgium win tonight to get a more favourable route through the tournament.

The amazing thing is I have no idea if your posts are ironic or not... keep up the good work!😛

Think Southgate did the right thing resting so many tonight. Sometimes this sort of defeat is fine because it can be a reminder that England are still a long way off. The sad news is we will probably go out to Colombia on Tuesday because the match is on ITV. England never seem to win in a tournament when the match is on ITV!😉
 
Just checking in the express the sentiment, "how the hell did Germany blow it this badly?" I didn't lose any money, but I don't like being wrong. Even about something I know nothing about.

France 2-1 Argentina

Uruguay 1-0 Portugal

Spain 3-0 Russia

Croatia 3-1 Denmark

Brazil 1-1 Mexico (Brazil to win 3-2 on Pens)

Belgium 2-0 Japan

Sweden 2-1 Switzerland

Colombia 2-2 England (Colombia to win 3-2 on Pens, but if England do get through there's a good chance of the semis at least).

I just placed a bet for Mexico (I’m in Vegas!). Mexico is +525 haha. So we’ll see!

I went back and forth on the whole thing v just Brazil game. WC odds were 1 in 34. I opted for just the game. Mostly because I didn’t want to jinx mx lol.
