I went back and forth on the whole thing v just Brazil game. WC odds were 1 in 34. I opted for just the game. Mostly because I didn’t want to jinx mx lol.

I think it would be great for football if we got a new and unexpected winner of the World Cup.

So @Mr Trick how are you doing with your predictions? I've so far managed to not see any game, so I have no idea what's going on unless it makes the news on the radio at work.

Haha surprisingly enough the referee didn't fancy giving Spain a penalty to knock Russia out. Has a look at the replay, sees 2 players shirt pulling and decides he'd like to leave the country alive instead of following the laws of the game. More chance of Scotland winning the world cup than him making that decision.

Croatia & Denmark just started out with a bang! Denmark scored their first goal in under 2 minutes and then Croatia came back with a vengeance and scored as well. Now I have to see how this ends.

Am starting to think that literary anyone can win this World Cup. What a horrible way for this great generation of Spanish players to sign off. Full credit to Russia though. What a great effort even if it wasn't pretty to watch. Great story.🙂

That ended up playing a bigger part than some thought. Also, I think its just a case of this group of players having peaked at least one tournament ago.

That's absolutely gutting for Japan. They played so well and deserved to make extra time. Too honest at the end. I was shouting for them to block the goalie.

Think Japan really surprised a few people this tournament. Hopefully they can build on it for next time. Taking one of the best teams to the limit is to their credit. Fair play to Martinez for making the important changes to change the game. Not always his biggest fan but did his job tonight. Think there's a good case for Fellaini to start every game. Think he offers Belgium greater balance and would make them harder to play against.

Yeah Brazil suck. Watching Germany smash them was the highlight of the last world cup.

I could root for Uruguay... but Suárez managed to annoy me more than Ronaldo in their last game (which is quite a feat) so I'm not sure now. lol

I'm sticking with Brazil. They are working their way into this tournament at just about the right pace. Have great squad depth and have the big match players. But it would not surprised me if it was someone else. Brazil-Belgium in the next round could be a classic.

Doesn't look like either team on today's undercard fancy the prospect of facing the might Lions in the next round.

I agree but come on Henderson went down like a tone of bricks. The player barely touched him.

Anyway good first half for England. Colombia have defended well and will probably work their way into the game second half. England just need to be bit more creative or clinical in the final third. Think it will be a close scoreline. Could even go all the way to the dreaded pens!😛

He headbutted him twice. No need to excuse them. Even the coaching staff are out there cheating. Seems all the South American teams are up to the same tactics.
