World Cup 2018 thread: Let the Wars begin...

I really hate when players do that. Don’t get me wrong, MBappe is an excellent player and I’m in admiration ahead his talent but he need to stop doing things like this, that’s not sportive and it doesn’t sell a good image of him. I give him a pass and I put this behavior on the « because he is young » but I hope that with experience he will learn to be more fair-play
 
Yeah really enjoyable match. Belgium have been fantastic this tournament and did little wrong tonight. Agree with @The Bronze that France outfoxed them tactically and functioned a little more as team. Their defending was excellent and they slowly worked their way into the game. Maybe Belgium's time will come at the Euros in two years. Most of the squad should still be involved and at their peak then.
 
Fed up waiting for work to finish. Need a beer and start to settle in for the biggest match in 22 years of English football.
 
I honestly don't know who Am I supposed to support lol.. for France in the final, I do not see which of these two teams will be the easiest to play against
Whether it's croatia or england, I think that in the final it will be a very difficult match for us French. So I say one thing, the best one wins !
 
Think England have a really good chance of making the finals at least. It may depend on which Croatia show up of course. Should be an intriguing match. Hold on to your hats folks!😀
 
no, no, no I did not want this to go to penalties, I think it's so unfair that they don't just keep playing til someone scores, which yes may take forever but still better than a shoot out.
 
Croatia are honestly doing really well they've scored a 'real' goal and almost scored far more than England have 🙁 Good thing England's goalie is good.
 
Well that's that then. Saturday is going to be quiet at work, although not sure if people will be bothered as much as they were last week.
 
Sorry for you guys. You made a great match but Croatia is an excellent team. This wasn’t a match easy. I hope we will revenge you.

I feel sorry for poor England, but I'm really happy for Croatia, they deserved it !

It's just devastating. Never thought we'd get so far but once we made it you can't help but believe. Desperately needed to take advantage of our superiority first half. Our formation and players work fantastically well when everyone fresh and we're going for them. After the first half hour or so we struggled both with the shape and quality of Croatia.

Gareth should have gambled earlier and either changed shape or brought on fresh legs because the game was slipping away.

Yet again an abysmal display from the officials. What's the ******* point of having VAR if no one will look at it or understands the rules? First Croatia goal is studs up at head height. Dangerous play, free kick.

Everyone can be proud of their performance though and by all accounts we have some good players coming through the ranks. Maybe next time.
 
Yeah in end Croatia's big match experience and composure made the difference. We lacked that killer instinct. If we had got the second goal when we were really dominating in the first half I think it would have been all over. Fair play to Croatia for how they came back. They deserved the win, though it was very close. Great tournament for England. But we have to build on it now and make sure we're contenders again. As a Villa supporter I'm really pleased for the success Southgate has had with England. I expect France to win the World Cup, though it could be a great final. I'm not sure England and Belgium will care which side finishes third. They will want to be playing each other in two years time in the Euro final😉
