The last one for me . I used to hurt myself playing sports & would walk it off .You make a noise like a sigh when you sit down / stand up
Tell a colleague you watched the world snooker final on a black and white telly and they are convinced you are making it up
Your niece says she felt old at a club you used to go to
Slight muscle injuries from sports take 7 weeks to clear up rather than 7 days
Some of us were adults 40 years ago😎I just thought some of you were perhaps 40 year olds joking about being 'old'. Are some of you older?
Sounds like you have this getting old thing down . My parents got me a computer to do my homework on so my writing would be easy to read so i understand that . Needed that after a teacher asked what i wrote one time & i couldnt read it 🙂I still have all my 45s. Still have my hundreds of CDs; LPs and a handful of cassettes - but mostly listen to MP3s. I have most of my 400 plus LPs on my hard drive and way more modern stuff that never was on vinyl.
I find both old and new tech useful. Every tech has its pluses and minuses.
I neither fear nor worship computers. They do hurt less to use than a manual typewriter. And there is no correcting fluid or retyping whole pages.
I have dysgraphia and learning handwriting hurt - and i was shamed & punished for failing it repeatedly. I now type well in excess of 60 wpm on a computer and am an expert enduser (not a true techie, not interested enough). No shame. No romance.
I have used outhouses ehen necessary and even the outdoors, but dont get the romance of the "good" old days. Some old tech sux.
If it works i will use it. I can drive and ride a horse and ride a bike and if i could afford it i would learn to fly. Each has its uses.
Adapt and grow, that is what being over 60 has taught me. I will use it all. Life is change. I am married to NO era or tech or lack of tech.
Mum is pushing 90 and i just got her her third or fourth computer. She is writing those novels she started back on her smith corona manual typewriter but did not have time to finish!
I am old but every day is a fresh adventure; a renewal. I seldom feel old - even though my joints try to disagree - but i have the technology for that - it's called walking!
I had a teacher once that wrote in not neat cursive and a few students would question what she wrote but as it was similar to my own messy handwriting I could understand it easily!Needed that after a teacher asked what i wrote one time & i couldnt read it 🙂
My cursive is so dreadful I can't read it. Even when I wrote cursive every day it was a struggle. My block printing is just about readable.Sounds like you have this getting old thing down . My parents got me a computer to do my homework on so my writing would be easy to read so i understand that . Needed that after a teacher asked what i wrote one time & i couldnt read it 🙂
Now I know how to stop ageing!!! 🤣I saw something a umber of years ago on a bus . This kid was asking the bus driver why all of his hair was white & he said its because he was getting old . The kid said did he want to & he said no.
The kid then said well stop getting old like it was that simple .
