Are you Cuffy or Cander or Cangel or Coyle or Croog or Cesley or Cordelinoor?

I found her and Xanders' dynamic very amusing to watch, so I would say Cander, but I also really ship her with Buffy, and from what I have seen I think I might ship her with Angel as well. It's hard for me to settle on just one, but for the sake of lesbianism I will say Cuffy, and for the sake of polyamory I will say Cander, Cangel, and Cuffy.

Although I do like Cander, I lean more towards Coyle and Cangel.

After her breakup with Xander, we see Cordelia revert backwards a bit. She tries to fit back into the popular crowd, and even when she moves to LA and starts working for Angel, she's still going out on dates with wealthy men.

However, in the midst of this, she's working alongside Doyle who isn't wealthy, some would probably say not even the best looking, and definitely flawed. He even ends up being half demon, which she finds out about when it's far too late. She likes Doyle because he's kind - especially to her - and brave. They claimed that Doyle passed his visions onto Cordelia because he loved her, but I also think on some level, she possibly loved him too, and that's why he was able to give them to her.

I liked Cangel too. They had a strong foundation there built on a solid friendship, and they both grew as people throughout the seasons, sometimes together.

Cander by a mile. Though I quite like Coyle, it didn't last long enough. Had it done so, Coyle could have been one of the best though.

Definitely not Cangel, Croo I felt just got in the way. (Though it was okay as a short term thing in the Pylea arc.) Cordelia and Connor should never have happened ever.

I could never see her and Buffy together meanwhile. Though it would have been better than her and Connor LOL.

I bet the arguments of Cuffy would've been a lot more fun to watch than of Bangel, and that works for me.

Agreed . The arguments would have been better with Cuffy. And then there would have been all the making up :)

Ironically I can see Cordelia being into it more than Buffy. Whilst she may have thought Buffy was a psycho looney at first, after Marcia Ross I think that Cordelia secretly looked up to Buffy as a hero, even if she wouldn't admit it.

Cordy seemed to care what Buffy thought of her, like in The Dark Age when she was hoping Buffy would ask her for help. She also tried to help Buffy in When She Was Bad, protected Buffy when she was helpless and got bullied by the jock, was sad about Buffy dying in Angel season 3, admitted she thought Buffy was cool hence why she hung around with Xander and seemed more hurt by Buffy seemingly betraying her by siding with Xander. (Even though Buffy didn't I guess it must have looked that way to her.)

Whilst Cordy was never bi, in a fan fic I can easily see Cordy looking up to Buffy as a cool, tortured, sexy hero from LA.

Buffy however from what we've seen didn't think much of Cordy. To be fair she had no reason to as she saw her bully Willow and generally be a shallow bitch LOL, but still. She didn't ever consider Cordelia a member of the gang. (Hence the bit in the Dark Age.) She clearly bitched about her to Angel, hence why he knew about the Cordettes LOL. she judged Xander for being so shallow as to date her, openly called her a coward and useless to Angel in I Will Remember You and years later she also didn't look back on her with fondness. She compared a psycho hell goddess to her and gloated about her death to Willow.

I think Buffy at best tolerated Cordelia and never thought about her once after except as a figure of fun. Even when she knew she worked with Angel.

While i have no issue with slash/femme slash or even unslash, i don't see anything that would allow me to imagine a bi or same sex inclination. It is there in most of the other cast members - little moments that show chemistry or even same sex interest.

But i don't see it in Cordelia (or Fred, Dawn or Connor either). I only write slash when something in canon gives me an opening. I think many of the characters do have elements that make it a better fit. Cordelia reads as terminally straight.

And yeah, Buffy does not really like her enough for them to have any chemistry.

Only one situation where i could see it. If Angel died and they were the only ones left to comfort each other - but even then, i see more a friendly getting drunk than sexy times.

WOW
Poor Cordelia has awful ship names. And Poor girl has terrible luck in relationships

1)Cordy and Angel of course
I am personally biggest fan of "friends-into-lovers" trope and They deserved better.

2)Cordy and Xander
Honestly I forgot They were a couple sometimes. But Its better than other options in here.

3)Cordy and Wesley
Better as friends but still acceptable

4)Cordy and Groo
Well.He is heroic and sweet. And He treated her very well but ıts not for my taste

5)Cordy and Buffy
I don't really see Cordelia as a lesbian or bisexual. If I did,It would be Anya not Buffy

6) Cordy and Connor

Gross and inappropriate. And everyone in the fandom knows that.

7)Cordy and Doyle

Honestly Doyle is easily one of my least favorite characters and There is no way,I can ship him with my favorite character.

Jasdelia. It's Jasdelia. Then there's everyone's favorite: Frillyria. 😀 I don't know if Ben/Glory ever got a portmanteau. Blory? Benificus? Blorificus?

As for Cordy...

I have the weirdest time thinking of her sexualized in 'ships. It's had so many misses and a lot of really depth-free comedy pairings (playing them as a joke or consolation prize really doesn't work for me) I can't take seriously. Of all of them, the oh-so-short Coyle is the only one that I really feel anything for.

Pairing her with Gunn (which they clearly toyed with) was actually one of the more promising ones before that ended before it started. It would've saved us from Frunn, which was patently a ploy to give Wesley even more angst in his Holtz/Connor arc, combined with Cangel put forth by Joss precisely because he planned to turn her evil and make Angel kill her, giving Cangel a second-rate rehash of Bangel in Becoming (original plan for Jasdelia before the pregnancy--Gina Torres was also better at being the Big Bad and it allowed Cordy to go out as herself in You're Welcome, which wouldn't have happened under the original plan). Groodelia suffers the same writer manipulation device that Frunn was turned into, which was all about alienating Angel and Wesley at the same time.

All of those 'ships reek of the writers putting characters in 'ships that are a struggle to fit the characters into organically just to set up a later plotline.

Cordy also suffered the indignity of being Xander's consolation prize to hurt Willow while at the same time having him continue to pine over Buffy more than the girl he was with (and then he cheats with Willow, making Cordy his third choice!).

Cordy has a really bad dating history being mixed into these 'ships without any one true pairing.

Thus, the tragedy of Coyle ends up being the closest she got to any one true pairing that didn't have either member pining over someone else (Xander pining for Buffy and Willow over Cordy, and Cordy pining for Angel over Groo with the unholy bonus of Jasdelia/Connor only being there to hurt/alienate Angel + birth a replacement actress) and wasn't set up for no other reason than the intent to cause pain for someone (sometimes not even someone in the 'ship--her 'ships did it twice to Willow and Angel).

The 'ship only died because of the actor firing situation, but it was clearly set up in City of... with the intent for it to continue had Glenn Quinn's problems not been ultimately deadly. You could argue that it also only happened in the episode Doyle died in for maximum pain, though it did give Cordy the closest thing to an arc she ever had with the visions (which killed her because she refused to let them go).

I completely understand why Charisma still clings to Cangel, though. It's kind of slim pickings and she clearly has reason to prefer working with David over Nick. The rest were extremely short-lived.

That is Jasmine/Cordelia + Glory/Ben

It's like s6 Spuffy on speed.

Make it happen fanfic writers.

Omg.What are you guys doing?I laughed so hard.😂😅🤣

This is one of the writing techniques that has been successful in a number of shows like NCIS and others of its ilk. Show very attractive people having trouble getting paired up with anyone to reassure viewers that being prettier or more handsome would not necessarily improve their lot in life, even their dating life. Cordy went from one disastrous relationship to another.

Xandelia never got very far and Willow was in the picture after she was endorsed as girlfriend material by Oz.

Cander had all the risks Bangel had with loss of soul, but they did look good together in "Waiting in the Wings".

Wesdelia was one of those things that was awkward on Buffy but relied on the disconnect between bumbling buffoon Wesley on Buffy and badass Wesley on Angel.

Groodelia was one of those relationships that always works in romcoms and is the worst in real life.

Cuffy is wishful thinking among the LGBTQ+ crowd that lionized BtVS because of its lesbian content. It never went anywhere.

Condelia was a dumpster fire inside a train wreck.

Coyle never gets the contempt it should have. He destroyed her with one kiss that brought her life to ruin and an early end.

As I said, this is a writing technique that has become popular in television because it shows the viewer that he or she is not as badly off as they thought.

My problem with asking who someone is best with is that it is often very reductionist of the character, especially female characters.

There are better and worse arcs for Cordelia. My ideal? Cordelia standing at the end of the series. My view is that if Cordy had not been sequstrated, they would never have gone to Wolfram & Hart.

Dont want to say this but that pretty good thinking . Head Cannon for a lot of people but that all it was ........

I like your ideas but i would have given more points to Cuffy.

You wanted Cordelia to hook up with Harmony ?
First name is what their ship name ?

Actually I'll disagree and say that I like the idea of Cordelia and Harmony. I see it much more than her and Buffy.

It could have headed that way after Disharmony. The fact that Harmony was even willing to try and control her violent impulses for Cordy shows that maybe underneath all of the shallowness and peer pressure there was something else there between them. I mean honestly Harmony does not get the credit for her restraint in having no soul in that episode. Probably because she betrays them LOL, but still again by vampire standards it was pretty incredible. Could have made an interesting fanfic, seeing where it would go if Harm didn't betray her. It could start out as shallow IE Harm just thinks the cult of vamps are geeks, and sticks with Cordy that way, but in time perhaps Harmony could genuinely fall for Cordy? Only thing is though without a soul or a chip she would just try and vamp Cordy. You'd need to think of a reason for that not to happen. Maybe when Cordy becomes half Demon she realises she couldn't and does a Spike, tries to be good to win her heart. I would just like to say that I would NOT have liked this in the show as it would have undermined the vampire lore, but for a fanfic it might be okay. Maybe Harm could stop Jasmine from happening by being there with Cordy on that night.

Also it's not hard for Cordy to mistake Harmony for a lesbian. "The last time I was happy was with you." Then there is Cordy being unbelievably supportive and even a bit curious about Harmony's new sexuality and still wanting to support her when she is a vampire. Cordelia should know better than anyone how evil vampires are. Spike, Marcus, Angelus, Drusilla, she's dealt with them all up close. Really what was she thinking? I also agree with Wesley, leaving her alone in her home, was a dreadful risk to her neighbours lives.

There being something else there is a better explanation LOL.

While I am not a fan of Harmony and therefore don't want to give her more screen time, the points you make are entirely reasonable. Harmony's behaviour was so very odd and Cordelia so eager to reclaim their friendship it was almost sad.

This is the sort of subtext that we fanfic writers love to uncover and apply to our backstory building when we slash or pair non canon characters in relationships.

By contrast, there is little in the behaviour of Buffy, particularly with Cordy, that hints at same sex impulses. Buffy and Faith begin with a very 'bromancy' power struggle/mutual admiration/mutual admiration that *could* be parlayed into a ship if you squint - and if you write a good enough back story.

But, I don't see strong lesbian vibes in either of those two. Just enough to make something with one's imagination.

The most likely non-straight pairing that doesn't involve Willow involves Giles and Ethan Rayne. They actually have canon sexual histories of orgies (plural) which involved only ONE named female. So the subtext is right there waiting to be text.
