Xander for me definitely. In the beginning he was one of my favorites, and I liked him less and less as the show progressed. Now I don't like him at all. Faith I didn't like and now I do. I like her more every time I watch.
The only one I can really think of not really liking at all is Gunn. I did not like him or really care for him but then watching it again and well again I like him and think he adds to the series.

Sorry for posting again forgot I had said something about Connor but when I think about it he was not as bad to me as gun was the first time.
The only main character that I used to hate was Dawn. This was pre-season 7. In season 7 she started to become less whiny and pathetic and started to become herself.
I have been an Angel fan since the very first episode of Buffy and my opinion of him has never faultered. Until now! Season 8 has ruined Angel entirely. The things that he has done are so out of character that I just don't like him anymore.
This might come as a shock, but I liked Angel for about an episode after his first appearance, from there things turned sour. I really don't know why, maybe its his personality or something, but I simply cannot manage to like him. I think that is a main reason why I've never been able to finish Angel. He's not impossible to watch (I don't HATE him), I just generally dislike his character. 🙁

You didn't like any of the other characters enough to keep watching?
As the show went on, I loved Giles less and Tara more.
I never cared for Xander either. Although my original disliking of him has moved to more of indifference.
TsquaredHonestly, no. The only time Angel truly interested me was when Aly and Eliza guest starred. But, without being biased I am going to finish Angel! :)
Xander definitely. He's funny and quirky in the beginning, and he's got the cute geek thing going on, but as the seasons progressed.... his judgmental attitude really started to bother me. And NOT just with Spike, but the way he viewed situations in general. He was very judgmental when he had very little right to be so. Also, his insecurities started to get annoying.
I used to love Xander, I'm not sure what changed between my first watch and my second. I'm not sure if I changed, or if he changed as the seasons continued and then rewatching even Season 1 made me cringe.
Yeah, that would probably be my only major one.
And Riley is the other way around - hated him for ages, but recently I have come to appreciate and respect his character, I'd even be tempted to say he is my favourite boyfriend of Buffy's.
I used to hate a lot of characters. Now I don't hate any character. Though there are characters I lost interest in and some grew on me more.
In my earlier days in Fandom where fanfiction played a great role in my likes and dislikes, I used to hate Buffy, Riley and Angel with PASSION because they always stood in the way of Xander and Spike's happiness. Now as I started to read fics with no character bashing and actually watched the show 😀 I fell in love with all three of them.
I used to really LOVE Willow and Anya, but as years went, I lost interest in both of them. Willow because she became too larger than life for my liking, too powerful, too magical, less normal, less relatable. I find myself enjoying Willow more when she's interacting with Buffy and Xander and being just a girl
also, Willow admitting she wants kids and a normal life and is jealous of Oz cause he has them made my love for her return in waves
With Anya, it's mostly my annoyance at the claims that she's been abused and mistreated by Meanie Xander and she's the poor little girl who can't defend herself from the Xander Monster and obeys all his demands and slaves for him days and nights... etc. That's all bull! And the more fanfic I read about Abusive Xander snapping at poor Anya, the more I dislike Anya.
As for characters I grew more interested in: Dawn. I didn't care for her much before, but I'm falling more and more in love with her after watching S7 and her awesomeness in S8. I love sarcastic women, and Dawn is the sarcastic voice of S8. Also, Dawn in fanfic rocks. She's always written with depth by all fans and it helped understanding her character better than the show did.
Giles. I loved Giles from the start then it began to fade and after season 7 well, I plain don't like him anymore. And season 8 bleh! Ruined!
The oh so popular Dawn 😉 Never liked her, she started to grow on me a little bit in season 7 but honestly towards the end of that and come season 8 I'm back to disliking her and wishing they would never have created her character.

I agree. I could never hate Xander but as the show progressed I definitely stopped liking him. I think it was around season 5 that I really started to get quite sick of him :S
Darla--I hated her in BTVS, but she started to grow on me in ATS, S2. Same with Cordelia. I was happy to see her leave Buffy, and she really irritated me in the first half of Season one of Angel, but as time wore on, and she matured as a person, I found myself growing more fond of her.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I loved Willow up until Season 5, and then I found myself getting incredibly upset and annoyed with her...and I'm sure this may upset some, but I really don't like Michelle as Dawn. I don't know what it is about her, but she irked me.
I liked Willow a lot, especially high school Willow. But she just got really whiny. I was especially angry when she made Tara forget their argument.
Also, I really didn't like Angel when he was on Buffy. But I am quite pleased with the show, Angel. It was nice they were able to flesh out his character more. Who'da thunk that he was actually hilarious? First time I realized this was after his imaginary funny dance in season 1. Also Wesley. Really didn't like him on Buffy, even in the beginning of his time on Angel. It wasn't until season 2 that he started to grow on me. It's funny that characters I didn't like went on to Angel where I would eventually grow to like them. Except Cordelia. I always liked Cordelia!
Anya! When she first came in Season 3 and the start of four she really bugged me because she was so serious but season 5 onwards she became one of my favourite characters, she always brought some much needed humour
Yeah, Anya! I forgot to mention her. She was so serious in S3. I started to like her in S4. And I LOVE HER in S5. I couldn't stop laughing about her money craze. Or I just can relate to her. 😀 Then again, she was a little boring in S7. So sad to say this. 🙁
I've realized that I really like Cordelia. At first I thought she was just your stereotypical high school mean girl, but she makes me laugh. I like her speech about being lonely even when surrounded by followers. There's a human being underneath that stuck-up exterior. She has always had that desire to be glamorous, but she really started to humble on Angel. It just goes to show how much she matured over the years.
The main character I can think of is Wesley. I LOATHED Wesley on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and still disliked him for the first season of ANGEL. It wasn't til the second season when he started to loosen up and really show he had sweet core and on top that could be a champion, that I started to really like his character.
