Ok, I am really not sure about the reaction I'm going to get from this part. Although it's mainly dialogue - that can sometimes be the hardest part!
Still on the street, Willow edged forward towards Nick. "I need to talk to you." she said.
Nick felt as if he needed to talk to this woman too, but he didn't really understand why. He knew that there was definitely a connection between them though. Nick followed Willow to a nearby bench, where they sat.
They stared at each other. Neither of them was quite sure what to say. Willow didn't want to spill too much, because she didn't want to scare Nick away, but she knew that if she tried to lie, he'd know.
Nick had so much to ask, but he didn't want to scare Willow away either, he wanted to know everything about what was happening to him.
Willow started, "I'm Willow," she said with a comforting smile, "You're Nick right?"
"Yeah," he replied, "How did you know?" His face held a curious expression.
"I'm not sure, I've never met you before, but I know who you are. I know it's weird but I feel like I know about you." she told him.
He looked to the floor. "You wanna know what's weird?" he asked her.
"What?" she asked.
"I feel the exact same with you, like I know you somehow. I feel connected to you." He stared into her eyes as he said this, and Willow knew it was time to start explaining, it wasn't fair that she kept this from him.
"I also know that you know about vampires." she stated.
Nick gave her a weird look; but she could tell he was in denial. He didn't want to believe that vampires were actually real. It opened too many doors which he couldn't get his head around. But he knew that the denial had to stop. If he wanted any chance at his life getting back on track he needed to tell Willow, she may have been the only person who could help him.
After a brief pause, he replied. "Yes. I know about vampires. He paused again and thought for a second. "How do you know about them? You're not a vampire are you?" he asked.
Willow chuckled a little. "I grew up on a hell-mouth, I know about pretty much every evil thing in this world. And I'm not a vampire, I'm a witch."
"Wow." said Nick; it was hard for him to be taking this all in, not only vampires, but now witches too.
"So do you have magic powers and stuff? I mean could you make me float or something?" he asked, inquisitively.
Willow giggled softly, "You know I probably could, but not here. Can you just imagine what those guys would do if you just started floating." she said, pointing to a group of stuffy looking people sitting inside a café.
Nick looked over and laughed.
"So do you fight vampires too?" he asked, trying to break the ice a little.
Asking somebody he'd just met if they fought vampires seemed so strange, but what was even stranger was the fact that he didn't care so much.
Willow stood up, "Maybe we should take a walk. It's getting a little crowded here."
Nick followed her and they walked across to the quieter side of the road.
"Well do you?" he asked.
"Do I what?" she asked back.
"Fight vampires?" he replied.
"Me? No, well a little, but not with fists and stuff like you."
"˜With magic?" asked Nick.
"Yeah, there's a few really effective spells when it comes to slaying vampires. I can actually create a ball of sunlight, and you know vamps, the sun comes up and they go poof."
Nick laughed a little, "Wow. That sounds cool. You'll have to show me sometime."
"Maybe sooner then you think." replied Willow. She pointed up ahead; there was a couple walking into an alley. The male was a vampire, Willow could sense it "“ a plus of being such an advanced witch.
"What is it?" asked Nick.
"Vampire," she stated, "let's go."
Willow and Nick rushed to the alley, and it looked like they were just in time. The vampire had the woman up against the wall, with his hand muffling her screams, about to bite her.
"Hey!" yelled Willow, "get off her!"
The vamp looked up. "Beat it!" he yelled, as he bit into the girl's neck.
Nick ran from behind Willow and charged at the vampire. He connected with a swift fly kick to the vamps torso. The woman was free, and went running out of the alley passed Willow. "Run!" she yelled to Willow as she sprinted passed her. Willow just rolled her eyes.
The vamp had just lost his meal, and that made him mad.
"Don't go far!" he yelled, but the girl was already out of Willow's sight.
Nick pummeled the vampire to the floor, and the two began to struggle with each other. Willow ran over. The vampire had Nick pinned to the floor, but he quickly kicked him off. Slamming into the brick wall, the vampire screamed.
"Got a stake?" he asked Willow, hectically.
"Don't need one!" she replied. "Incinere!" she yelled. A ball of fire developed in her hand and she directed it in the direction of the vampire. In a flash, the vampire was on fire, screaming in pain. He then dusted.
"You ok?" asked Willow, putting out her hand to help Nick up.
He didn't take it; instead he just stared at her. "I'm fine. But I want to know how the hell that is exactly. I know you know, and I was gonna be polite about it, but now I officially don't care." Nick paused and ran his hands through his hair. "What the hell is wrong with me?!"
Willow stared, and tried to be empathic, but she couldn't really find a problem in the situation. Nick was probably the strongest human male alive, where is the problem in that? He didn't have to take his calling, there were enough Slayers now. The new ones didn't need to take on the calling if they didn't want to, there was a choice.
"Nick," Willow said with a pause, "You're a vampire slayer."
"A vampire slayer?" he asked, sarcastically, "well that answers all my questions, I'm a vampire slayer everyone." he shouted out sarcastically, waving his arms around. The alley they were in was disserted, so nobody saw.
"Look Nick," said Willow in an agitated voice, "If you want answers, let me speak, if you want to be a moron about this I'm going home because I actually have work to do right now." She stood with her hands on her hips, waiting for a response.
Nick could see she was serious, and as much as he wanted to tell Willow exactly where to stick it right now, he needed answers.
"Ok," he began, "I guess I'll co-operate."
Willow nodded her head. "As I was saying you're a vampire slayer. There was one, born into every generation. She would fight the vampires, demons and every other form of evil. So you can guess that one slayer fighting all the evil in the world wouldn't live that long. When one died another one was called, ever since the beginning of humanity - up until the year before last that is."
Willow paused. Nick had a blank look on his face. "You following?" she asked.
Nick nodded, "Yeah."
Willow continued, "Anyway, I mentioned the hell mouth before, Sunnydale. It's down south of here, or it was I should say. I grew up there, and when I was a junior in high school, the Slayer moved to town, her name's Buffy."
Nick cut in for a minute, "Is she still alive?" he asked a little hesitantly.
"Yeah," began Willow, and then thought for a second, "Well she is now, but she's died twice."
Nick just nodded. All of this was a lot for him to take in.
"Where exactly do I come into this?" he asked.
"I'm just about there." stated Willow. "So Buffy and a group of us in Sunnydale fought evil over the years, until the year before last, we finally closed the hellmouth. That's where all the slayers came into it. We couldn't do it on our own. You see all around the world there were thousands of girls with the potential to become the next slayer if the current one died. I was able to channel the essence of the Slayer into every single potential slayer in the world "“ which means that around the world there's thousands."
Nick cut in again. "Hey wait, you talk like the Slayer is supposed to be a girl right?" he asked.
"It should be." said Willow. "Ever since the first slayer, there's never been a male slayer. In every piece of literature about the slayer, you'll find it refers to a girl. Nick you are the first ever male slayer."
Nick laughed a little in disbelief, "Why me?" he asked.
