Spoiler! Extremely spoilery: Buffy #34 Soliciations.

If all of this is, indeed, reality and not some kind of hoax, then I just have to ask, and though it might sound Spuffy oriented, I assure you that it is not, where is Spike during this,(as well as Connor, Gunn, and Illyria, for that matter, but I can understand that they wouldn't be able to cross over easily,) and why isn't he doing something to help? (Or do you think that maybe he will show up somehow?) As of the moment, in Angel's own magazine, they seem to be getting along pretty well, and in fairly close contact most of the time. If something like this were happening, Angel's people would have had to notice something going on and either tried to stop it or tried to warn the Slayers.

Basically, what I'm asking is, why, if this really is the actual Angel, not a clone, doppelganger, robot, or any other kind of fake, why hasn't Spike, or at least someone from Angel's crew, tried to warn Buffy? Is he, in fact, dead? Held prisoner somewhere? Dropped off of the face of the Earth? Barring something like that, I simply can't envision anything that could possibly keep him away, regardless of any resolve to let Buffy live her own life.

You make great points.
That's thing, isn't there, like, an eighteen month time gap between the comics? If Twilight really is Angel, then I imagine something must have happened in his world, to his friends and family, which is pushing him into doing what he's doing now.

You know what? Eff it!

I have been absorbed by these characters since I was ten years old. Any dark periods of my life they have seen me through. I believe in them individually and even more when they are together. I have faith in them and I refuse to believe that this is how their journey ends.

The fact that the reveal is part of the second last arc indicates to me that Twilight isn't what we should be worried about.

There is an integral part of this puzzle that we are missing. So I am going to take Joss's advice and trust the tale and not the teller because the story I have followed all these years DOES NOT end like this. It can't.

You're much more positive about this then I am. Joss is sadistic.

Since we know that there will be at least a Season 9 for Buffy, and it appears that Angel's own comic is still going quite strongly, it would be a safe bet that neither character's journey is over quite yet. Also, as you have pointed out, we have that last arc yet to run, AND we have Dark Willow still around up until Fray's time. I'm beginning to see the hint of a connection in all of this.

To me Buffy and Angel becoming these people would be the end.

Willow is integral to this, I'm just not quite sure how yet.

I'm gona try and figure out how this is all her fault 😀

Don't you dare! :P
I actually cried when I saw the pictures for the first time and I really don't know what to make of it all. I really do hope this is an elaborate hoax. But I'm also trying to reserve judgement until I have the issues in my hand (and probably the issue after that and the issue after that too), read the story and see where it takes us.

You hate Willow. You'd try to pin the whole bloody apocalypse on her!

Well, honestly? I rather it on her head than Buffy or Angel's. It would at least make more sense with the whole Future!Dark!Willow.

I have two opinions on this.
1.Could be a shark jumping moment that just exists to shock and not to provide any devolpment that will result in heads exploding and babies crying all over the world
2.That maybe it's going to be entertaining. Let's not forget the last time angel was a big bad. Hey even people who dont like angel tend to like angelus.

But the problem is,while im optimistic, and I want the best for buffy season 8 cause when it comes down to it past all the anaylsis I do mentally of their motivations and their personalitys and generally aspects nobody but us on the board probably care about,I simply just love the comic and the show...I keep on coming back to 1. At worst case scenerio,This could be something angel cant walk back from. Which nulifys about everything angels been since he went to L.A. But,at the same time,on first impression i might of thought the idea of making angel a villian in season 2 was stupid or that the kid from i was made to love you being a big bad was shark jumping. And warren and angelus brought me some of the most entertaining moments ever. So im just curious to read what happens next.

Maybe Buffy can make a deal with the Powers That Be so that this arc never really happened, and nobody but her would ever know. They could call it "You Won't Remember Me."

that would be more than a day
I agree full-heartedly with everything Kean has said.

I feel as if I know and live with these characters. They have always been there, and almost every time they have not let me down.

I don't like Angel that much, to be honest... the only thing that I find really unsettling is that Buffy is kissing Angel. It could be that she doesn't yet know he is Twilight, though, and he's just dressed regularly.

Although whoever said they both look like S1 Buffy and S1 Angel is correct. They do.

As far as I'm concerned, with this reveal the series has not just jumped the shark, but raped and murdered it on the way past.

To save it from crashing and burning completely will take the best plotting and writing of Joss's career. THE best.

I've said in the past that Joss was the best storyteller I know. At this point, in order to keep me as a fan, he needs to prove it.

All I can say is this freaking sucks and Im not going to spend my money on it. It looks terrible. On second thought, you guys can read it and then tell me if it sucks, just so I know Im not missing out. I swear to Glory if Buffy is honest to goodness getting it on with Angel/Twilight I may loose all love for the comics. 🙁 They definitley jumped the shark and I think it was such a silly move to release these covers (or even make them. They are gag worthy. Chhhheesy!)

Gosh. Well. I honestly don't know what to say. I spent all say at work today freaking out about this since I found out yesterday, and I ran home right after and got right back on BB.

I honestly can not believe Joss would do this. What, is he a sadist? Make Angel, one of his most prized and beloved characters, one he's worked years at creating, who has fought tooth and nail for his redemption...into a VILLAIN? ...Again??

This. Makes. No. Sense.

This has nothing to do with Bangel. Or Spuffy. This has to do with Joss ruining his two most popular characters. His heroes. His cultural icons. The characters that have had a large hand in creating the massive and devoted fandom he has. WTF IS HE THINKING?

I am so upset I can't even handle it. There has to be an explanation. This doesn't "fit." This is the worst thing I could ever imagine, honestly.

If Joss is trying to alienate and majorly piss off his fandom, he has succeeded.

I have nothing else to say. I feel ill.

That put it better than I did. Kudos.
You know Joss has made a mistake when Andrew isn't defending the comics. Honestly Joss hasn't been great to me in years, other than Dr. Horrible. I find Dollhouse boring on all levels. The season 8 comics have been mostly weak close to two years now in my eyes, and I'm still not over the vamps being popular garbage.

Why in the world would they reveal Angel is Twilight? If it wasn't a big deal to them, why not tell us a year or two ago? This is all very annoying. I would have liked to find out on my own with the turn of a page in two months. All this build up, at least to me, and this is how it plays out? Great. Just great.

People that get the TPB, and avoid the spoilers still get spoiled by the trade covers, like with Dark Willow on the cover of the Time of Your Life arc. And now Angel on the cover of the Twilight trade. Seriously, WTF are they thinking? Hopefully somehow, this is a fake out. Yeah I choose denial over despair.

Talk about being surprised when checking up on things! Have no idea how Angel could be twilight. Like already stated this is totally where the series jumps the shark unless Joss can pull something AMAZING out of his butt.
