I like all the Big bad in Buffy, so.......... Gloria, Angelus and Dark Willow/The First are memorable for me
To be fair, the show never claims to be an accurate depiction of Wicca. Like most supernaturally-themed shows which involve witches, Charmed takes liberty with its portrayal of witchcraft and Wicca. That being said, you can see the Wiccan influences in the first season and the Pilot episode does reference the and it harm none, do what ye may aspect and there is a strong emphasis that their powers cannot be used for personal gain (and we see them suffer the consequences when they violate this rule). The sisters also stopped referring to Wicca after the first season and refer to themselves as witches instead.Being a third generation witch I had some interest for the show when it began but it had the Hollywood level of intelligence.
The girls kept referring to themselves as Wiccan which they were blatantly not, where does it state that killing demons is ok?
In the magical world magic is magic and there is no good and bad, only what the person chooses to do.
So where was the 3 fold law? For every demon killed by them the act should have been thrown on them 3 times yet it wasn't.
Was that the film crew saying there is no 3 fold law or the rule of Wiccan does not exist
I looking forward to seeing how they change it myself . Hopefully they give it more background itself . One thing I didn't like is you didn't see them relating with other witches like they should have been . I really liked Pru in there myself . Lastly I would have loved to see something that connected Buffy to Charmed since they were the same network even though I probably the only one who thinks that.Being a third generation witch I had some interest for the show when it began but it had the Hollywood level of intelligence.

The Source was the shows version of the devil, who was a Christian thing not a magical thing.
So if there is a reboot it is likely to have the name charmed to get the ratings. Hopefully the show has writers who know a bit about the subject, this time.
They could make it interesting, forget the feminism thing, forget the being good thing, lets have the reboot be a time of their descendent children getting their own back on Pipers death, a few of society at a time. Hopefully though Auntie Paige is no where to be found for the whole series, she was so bad an actor and sister he used a full stop twice..
Yet who was the biggest Big Bad in Buffy TVS, it was the scriptwriters.
Men and women aren't equal, sweetie.
Seriously, if you were trapped in a burning house, pinned beneath a heavy refrigerator, who would you want to save you? A 110 pound chick, or a muscular dude weighing 250 pounds? I mean, would you say, "No, I'm a feminist and I want the girl to help me...even though she couldn't pick up a dictionary without breaking her back. Go away, strong man! I'm into girl power! Even if I end up looking like a tiki to torch, I refuse your manly help!" 😛
I haven't read all the responses here yet, and I'm not sure it's worth getting into it as no one is likely to change anyone's mind, only leave with hurt and bitter feelings. I got some long responses, essays too long to read, to other feminist threads here on BB that I never posted which explains just some of the problems I have with modern feminism that has become too popular and more still I could bring up. I marvel that women have the power to confront men about "manspreading" (but never mind fembagging) to the point they even change the rules and policies yet can't reform a system in need of reform or confront men who do much worse. I could talk about how disempowering a lot of the so-called empowerment is, or how it's actually more degrading to women. I could tear apart the "women get paid less" as well, certainly as any universal statement of social reality. But I see that as a waste of time. (And many of the problems I see with modern feminism also plague anti-feminism and a great many other ideologies.)
However, I do feel the need to waste my time telling you that you are entitled to your belief that women look out for women while men do not though that is not a world I've seen at all. As I've linked on BB before, a father forbids his daughter from having her genitals mutilated and her grandmother takes her in secret to have it done (her father was trying to protect her). Male judges called out the female judge that slut slamed a child and said she was not all that innocent in the violent rape that an adult male confessed to (and though she had consented to sex earlier with this adult, she could not legally give consent, and yet the woman judge felt as the child consented earlier then not only was it okay for an adult male to have sex with her, but then he could violently rape the child after she wanted nothing more to do with him). Another woman threatened a jury to find her nephew innocent of rape. I don't feel like looking these links up again and you'd only forget them later if I did.
As for myself...long story made VERY short...a high school boy sexually assaulted me when I was 13 (in a mental hospital, though many of us were there over an insurance scam) and it was upsetting, but I got away before he did too much, though it sucked I felt I had to stay on the girls' side rather than going into the game room share by boys and girls. But it got so much worse when his high school girlfriend and her friends came in and beat me bloody, because she was jealous and wanted to make me too ugly for him to ever sexually assault again, and did other lovely things like rub toothpaste through my hair. Every single day. I acted out to be put into isolation cell because it was the only escape from those girls.
Later (skipping more lovely stuff) a man sexually assaulted me, I got away more by happy accident (though he did worse than the high school boy), another punched me in the gut so hard I couldn't breathe while my wrist was bound, and I was carted to another building where a woman that those men called "ma'am" answered to, and that woman was a demon. She had me tortured (men following her orders to do so) by UN definitions and pumped me with serious drugs that did horrible things. She traumatized me so bad that after I got out I had a nightmare where I went to Mom in bed and saw that doctor's smiling face and literally woke up screaming.
I literally blacked a lot of it out after my grandmother told me to forget about it until Mom and Dad brought it up in the divorce trial (in trying to get me to choose one to live with, which was a battle of child support). Ah yes, after Mom got rid of the male creep lawyer she got feminist lawyers that I loathed (though I'm glad they got the creep lawyer in trouble), and long story short they knowingly and willfully lied on the stand and got me to live with an abusive mother, and I think they literally hoped Mom and I would be killed by Dad (almost happened) so they could use us as martyrs for their cause. In any case they were evil enough to knowingly place me with an abuser (women abusers are okay in their book, even if her victim is a little girl those feminists silenced).
Most weren't this bad, but generally speaking, females were worse to me than males, and its females more likely to slut shame than males, though many feminists like to pretend otherwise. Sure I met a lot of creep males as well. But also many good males and females. Later as a runaway on the streets I again bonded with many races and genders. Boys get sexually abused and exploited as well, sometimes by their own mothers. In short, I learned to bond with males and females and people of all races, but learned to be wary of all of them as well, which means I can't say "this demographic good, that one bad."
Getting too long (though I can go on for much longer) so I'll just end with that for these reasons I can never join your Cult of the Woman that thinks women good, men bad, or believe that women have my back while men are my enemies forever seeking to dominate me. This does not mean I therefore think men good, women bad. Life is more complicated than that.
Yeah, and misogyny will be wrongly blamed as political zealots see everything warped through their ideological lens and assume everything is measured by ideology. If the description is accurate then I may find it unintentionally hilarious, but expect it to flop fast because the characters and stories will have the appeal of gruel, in addition to the annoying preaching.
OTOH, this could be creative marketing. Bringing up feminism, especially in such a context, is like mentioning "gun control." Word will spread like fire and even many who would hate it will watch it just to take it apart in videos, which will cause an equally knee jerk reaction of getting others to like it because say "red pill males" (among others) don't. That's free advertisement, and controversy has long done more good than harm to new movies and shows, and outrage gets people talking and sharing like nothing else, thus drawing people in more than any other emotion. So this could be brilliant and cynical manipulation of us all to get people buzzing and preparing to watch even if only as a political statement (for or against). Advertising space sells all the same so they make their money. Google (whose biz is advertisement) has long exploited outrage to draw in viewers (and thus sell ad space) by infuriating people (through others, of course).
But it could also be yet another bait and switch, promising one show and giving another that has nothing to do with smashing the Patriarchy nor have anything to do with the original show beyond the paint job they gave their generic story knowing this will attract more viewers than if they tried to promote something original (though riddled with the usual tropes and generic story lines, but given a few names, places, and references to make it look like it's part of a more familiar and thus appealing show or series to make it look like something familiar, tap nostalgia factor, etc). People will have such low expectations (those with high expectations because it's about "smashing the patriarchy" will be such a small minority that the network and advertisers won't care about losing them) that their barely passable story then seems much better than it is simply because everyone was expecting so much worse.
Virtually all TV and movies is about advertisement and consumerism, especially in the USA. Of course they've learned to expertly push our buttons to make it work for them. They've been doing it for years and it keeps working. And they're not the only ones.
Trust me, I had met men and women who have abuse me throught my life and I am in no way saying women are better than men. But the problem I think is that the world as we know now is not safe for women. It is not about creating a Cult of women (We are not American horror story) or bringing down the men or even creating a matriarchy as this would result in the same problem as we have today but in reverse. I do not wish for men to feel our pain in retaliation, I just wish to reduce the pain women are experiencing in the world because of old ways of life that are reducing women to procreator and sexual objects.
What, and not D'Hoffryn?
Completely off topic.
As my picture less avatar states I am the Druish Pervonian Wizard, and as such I can fly as a few of the early druids used to, so catching up with you will be easy.
The real reason why I have not uploaded a new avatar is because I haven't found a good enough one you. I would never admit to what is after the three dots
after ahem.
I'm a bit confused by what you said *laughs wildly* *puts on trainers* *runs away*.
Thing is you say, 'puts on trainers'. But you didn't specify puts on trainers what,
do I take that to mean you put on the trainers running shoes? And since when could you afford a trainer?
Some how I thinks you is fibbing, I'll believe you if you give me an avatar.
Thanks for doing my avatar ABK or should that be ATVBK.
How did you know I'd like that avatar, and how did you know about my connection with the avatar?
