Episode Discussion Game of Thrones, Season 8

I just wish the showrunners stuck to their guns and had Jon and Arya be a romantic couple. That was such a great idea, I can't believe they changed their minds.

Oh I would have not liked that. I like Arya with Gendry
Arya is so full of herself, I cannot stand her. Even more so this season than last season. If Jon and/or Dany doesn't get killed in this battle, there is no way Dany doesn't try to kill Jon.

I really really don't want Brienne to die, but I have the strangest feeling she's going to be one of the first....

I have the same fear. At least she got her moment if she does die.
This was such a good episode. I loved that we got to see them all come to terms with the inevitability that they won't all be alive when this all ends. I think this sort of episode is needed to make the show feel more grounded and more human.

Brienne's stuff was the best. I hope she doesn't die but I am prepared for her to. At this point, I just hope it'll be an honorable death.

Is anyone else worried that people are hiding in crypts when the enemy can literally raise the dead?

Would there be anyone in the crypt that are ... fresh enough to reanimate? It's only for Starks, isn't it?

They don't need to be fresh to be reanimated. The wights left buried at Bloodraven's cave were there for hundreds of years awaiting Bran.

But weren't they preserved in the ice? Unless the Starks mummify their dead, shouldn't the bodies be long gone?

Could still happen. I only don't like Dany because every second child and their dog is named Khaleesi. I'd really like for her to have some twisted ending and taint the name. Maybe Arya can take her out 😉

I also love Arya. In fact I’m kinda obsessed with Maisie Williams who plays her. Seem like all of her movies

I can understand the appeal. I think I am just overexposed to her and the red head. Darlings of the daring tv.

I most enjoyed all the faces part of Aryas story. I have grown to respect Sansa as a character and hope to see her in a scene with Cersei again.

I'm finally all caught up! Wow, first off I LOVED the season 7 finale. Sansa has slowly become my favorite character of the show. I loved what she did, blind-sighting Baelish like that. Sweet! So far this season is off to a good start. Gotta admit though, feels a bit lie fan service, but since I'm a fan, I don't care at this point. I only started watching GoT since August of last year, and it has quickly become my second favorite show of all time. I can't wait to go back and rewatch it from the beginning knowing how everything turns out. I really liked seeing Jon reunite with everyone, Sam telling Jon about who is really is, I was like "yes! it's about time!" Also, I couldn't help but think was that the whole point for Bran becoming the 3 eyed raven? So that someone could tell Jon who he really is? But sounds like there might be more to the 3 eyed raven coming up. Gotta say, I haven't really cared for Dany in a while, and the fact that Sansa doesn't like her, makes me not like her either. But I'm glad Jon told Dany his secret. The earlier seasons would have dragged it out for the whole season, but we don't got time for that this season. So, far, I'm really enjoying this season. I love the little moments, like Davos and Gilly talking to that little girl. (I love Sam and Gilly!!!")

That's a good point. Could we see resurrected Starks? What if Jon has to kill his mom? Interesting, although I don't think they will do that.

Ugh, I hated that part of her story. I was like "thank gosh she killed that terrible girl and left Bravos!" For as drawn out as that storyline was I don't think it was a good transition to who Arya is now. I just don't like the faceless men stuff. I did love Arya jumping Gendry's bones. I was onboard that ship!

I would love to see Cersei and Sansa interact now. I always loved their scenes earlier on. I think Cersei would have a certain amount of respect for Sansa and everything she has been through.

All and all what I love about this show is the character relationships, their character arcs and how they all interact with eachother. I hope Sansa sits on the throne, but my other guess is maybe no one sits on the throne. no more Iron Throne.

I am hesitate to spread rumors now, but a major entertainment reporting website posited that because we never see her actually kill the waif, that the Ayra after that interaction has always been the waif, and that real Ayra is dead.

That is one of the most preposterous things I have ever heard! Well, no, I forgot they also posit that the night king is also the mad king and no one realized that ya know, he was still alive. That was preposterous, the Ayra is the Waif thing is just really bad.

not heard of that theory, but I would hate it if they did it!
Weird episode. I'm lost with Arya now. Can't tell if she's herself, a blank slate assassin or some combination. It's a shame because she was one of my favourites early on.

In enjoyed the gathering around the fire place and Brien getting her moment. Not sure how many in that room will make through next episode.

Daenarys continues to be God awful. My throne! My throne! Won't someone please think of my throne! The army of the dead are hours away she can't even bloody focus on getting everyone through the first encounter with them. King Aegon was damn lucky they arrived when they did otherwise he'd probably have died in the crypt.

Agree with @Mylie absolutely 🖤 this episode! A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms - probably could've been called 'episode with all the feels' 😉
Ghost! 🐺 Would've liked to have a Hound & Sansa conversation, though.
Check out the big brain on Bran...er three toed pigeon three eyed raven. 😀 Actually a pretty good plan. Wonder how that'll pan out.
Flo in GoT! 💚
