i uh forgot when i...the uh...the lines in the bible. there are quite a few lines that church leader ppls have said to ignore, but the man one they still...it's still good to them..weird but...
the unconditional love and judgement always threw me, how could they preach that and then turn around and say hate gays, they're sinners, they're almost doing the same thing that was done to them years ago, smaller scale, not quite as bad but still....how hypocritical. to preach unconditional love, then turn around and say "well see what we meant, is unconditional for straight ppl. everyone else burns less they act straight get married and totally ignore that part of them" so very exclusionary and discriminating and damaging, but its prolly their major battle now, no gay marriage.
seperation of church and state is hard, i know it is, specially when the pledge (didya know that was rather recent? least the 1900's maybe late 1900's?) one nation united Under god.
any public office or swearing in, guess who's there, So help me god. i'm not saying he's bad, but church is very intergrated into life and gov't. its discrimatory atheists, ppl that call god something different, a lot of the religions have a lot of similarities its just the way they go bout it really....
church shouldn't meddle in gov't and gov't shouldn't in church...well...human sacrifice prolly isn't...but other than endangerment of ppl let em go. they allow cults, why not marriage? it gets them money doesn't it?
sanctity...church type thing again? im not sure but....adultery breaks it, a lot of things break it, and straight ppl do it a lot. not all,, and not all the time, but divorce rates and....i don't see how allowing same sex marriages, that the sanctity of marriage would be destroyed...
if you had enough money you could buy a church pardon for anything, once upon a time, an annulment, absolution...
tanks for the welcome frenchy....hope i hadn't offended anyone...i meant to mention somewhere, cuz i hate offending less i'm trying and then i fail but...i dun like insulting and offending...then again with this topic...i'm not against religion or anything, just how some ppl use it.
see now i'm even more glad i dun like soda....lot of ppl have tried using logic along that lines, but the sept 11 thing? mindblown. never did like the dude, i'm sure there are a few others that agree with him but...me, i can't fathom how one could ...(i uh forget words regularly...its a me thing...give me a sec an....) advocate would be an ok word, that...its...i dunno...i really dun't
that prolly will happen, cuz there are prolly more close minded ppl, or ppl that follow those ppl than there are open minded ppl...
everyone is entitled to their own opinion, i do quite agree with that, and i didn't mean to say one wasn't....sometimes i can understand why some ppl don't like gays. i'll never ever agree with them unless i'm brainwashed for a few years, and i hadn't before but...i can sorta see the standpoint. i just wish ppl would be more openminded, less judgemental, more accepting. and less brainwashed. its very hard to go against something you've been told your whole life. especially from a young age. if you're told from the get go that...say... monkeys live on mars, by someone you're supposed and do trust, someone that usually doesn't lie, someone you respect, chances are, you'll grow up believing it. and security is highly valued, and lots of ppl dun like change they like things the way they are.
a change like this, will have monumental conquences for quite a few ppl. big boat rocker.
some ppl started this cuz of fear and because the church wanted more control...william blake...the garden of love,,,against organized religion, in teh beginning its all peaceful, then he grows up, goes back to the garden, chapel, cool with him, likes god quite a bit, but gets there, locked, and "Thou Shalt Not" writ upon the door, gets him upset, turns to the meadow for comfort, graves. priests binding his joys and desires with thorns. he didn't want the church dictating his life. controlling it. unpopular view for the time but...he's not bad.
i don't think that the kids in my school, even know what the ramifications of what they're saying are. i really don't think they know what it feels like. its a very white, coal region religious old fashioned town. i'd say it had values, but 84% of kids admitted to getting drunk....lots of drugs and gambling, so ....a lot can prolly be attributed to ignorance. they simply put, don't know. or care. or they get off on it. or are afraid.
one of the scariest things, is the unknown, things you don't understand, and not knowing can be very scary so they turn and take it out on others, to try an feel better, to try and kill their feelings,
and im sure there are other reasons that i don't know of, and that i can't think of. some i can understand most i can't.
i have a very very hard time getting near anything that resembles hate. i can dislike and thats it. i don't understand hate. and i don't get hating someone for who they like or how they act...well...maybe the act....i can see hating a serial killer who killed your friend cuz...but thats a diff thing....thats a thing for me, i can't quite understand hate, and there's a lot of other things i don't get, but it doesn't bother me. sometimes it does but...most part, doesn't hurt me, close friends or family i'm usually gonna be ok with it....
its a very painful insult, even when its not directed at you. and it is unbelievably common. some ppl who are actually rather open minded and try an get their friends to be the same, still say ;oh my car was being gay today. wouldn't start.' its become so much a part of the school, it'll take so much to get it out, to overcome it, and here...i'm not holding out much hope.
one of my classmates....its hard trying to describe cuz...to all but 2 ppl's eyes we're good friends. we're not, cuz shes so very borderline phobe and i'm so very nearly gay(i'm bi, but i'm not interested in guys, attracted to them yea...enough that i can't say im gay in good conscience,...i really reallly hate lying, i can't so...). she'd hate me. the look of disgust on her face at the mention of it...its just...it kills me. so im nice, i dunno how to not, she's nice, the only prob is the me not being straight thing really. and i can't tell her that, without it getting all over the school, so i'm stuck. to say that i'm friends with her...is a stretch....
its prolly not that rare of a situation, keeping something like this from a supposed friend....it's very hard to smile at them when inside you know they'd hate you, be disgusted by you and you can't do a thing bout it. it eats at you, knowing that you're hiding something that will make someone hate you, and still being friendly with the person.
but like everyone's said, marriage isn't neccesarily (sp?) a religious affair, it doesn't need to be, cuz atheists would be outta luck then too. and theres this other arguement. that gay couples can't have kids, which you need to be able to do in a marriage....that gets me too....infertile couples aren't married to that logic. and i don't ever remember reading in the bible that marriage was Just between a man and a woman....i might be wrong, its been awhile since i looked at any of the bibles....not to keen on them or church anymore. i guess i just didn't like the idea i was gonna rot in hell just cuz i thought something....and this was before i realized i wasn't straight. that just made me like the church less....
a lot of countries still have a long way to go with discrimination. long road, lots of obstacles but maybe one day...
rambled on a bit again but....didn't mean to offend anyone...but...yea....
