Xander is outside with Dawn when big boom happens.

Which means he can't have been the one who launched the missile, he can't be in two places at once, can he? and we've only seen Twilight fly, not teleport, he wouldn't be able to get there in time and change.

I'm telling ya, it's Angelus

Or Caleb, more evidence in Time of your Life points to Caleb. I mean, it would be him coming full circle, blow up the Watcher's Council, blow up Slayers to go with it

what do you mean by that? I think I missed something...
I'm still under the impression that Twilight's existence is related to Dawn's, but an idea came to me that perhaps Gunther is involved. Gunther knows the Slayer history and Slayer psyche...

I just can't see Hank Summers being in any way involved with the supernatural of the world. He seems like a guy who would shun it's existence (and we know he has, since we know he was partly involved in the decision to put Buffy into a mental hospital back in L.A).

I disagree for a few reasons:

1. We don't know anything close to enough about Hank Summers to make any substantial case on "what kind of guy he is." What kind of guy he actually is is completely up in the air.

2. His reasons for locking his Slayer daughter away in a mental hospital could be for the exact same reasons that Twilight now wants Buffy dead. In other words, the surface reason of Buffy being crazy could have been nothing but a cover.

3. Anything could have happened with Hank Summers since the last time he was present in Buffy's life (which was several years ago).

I'm not saying I'm right on this at all; I'm just saying he can't be discounted based on what little we know about him.

A friend of mine (who gets me the Buffy comics) is quite sure Twilight is Giles. He's been cut off by Buffy and he hasn't appeared much at all (except during the Faith arc) or Angel.

I can't see Hank Summers being Twilight either. He doesn't even know Buffy is the vampire slayer...does he?

From what Buffy knows--no. But that doesn't necessarily mean she's right. We don't really know anything at all about Hank Summers, or what he's been up to, or who he really is--which is why it's a possibility. The character of Hank Summers is practically a blank canvas.

Giles I can see. That's an interesting idea. I don't think Buffy cutting him off has to do with him being Twilight though. The seed has been planted for Giles to go somewhere darker though--he brought in Faith to murder another slayer (although he was doing it to help save Buffy, so it doesn't exactly work out too well), and he's exiled from the group.

There's no way it's going to be Angel or Xander though. Nothing about either one of those makes any sense whatsoever.

I still think that whoever it is,he/she/it hasn't been seen yet.

Yes,I know that this sounds like the BtVS version of Occam's Razor-"the simplest explanation is the best". But,oh well...🙂

The person who betrays Buffy and the person who is Twilight could be two different things altogether. I'd be interested in knowing what that naked-snake lady did with all this information Willow gave her.

Well, if you are going that route, Twilight wears a very familiar duster.
So, by your theory Twilight is Spike since he fits the parameters of knowledge needed and expressed in the comics and Buffy met Angel in NY - in secret as per usual.
There ya go Keanoite! Dream on that one.

Occam's Razor is nice, but sometimes it slices at bit too deep.

From what I've seen, plus some speculating on how he might have both caused and worked to keep expanding the rift between Angel and his people and any of the Slayer force, I'm actually beginning to think that the big bad behind Twilight's mask is Giles.

B
Blondie Bear
O.O Wouldn't THAT be interesting.
Something else!

I think it might have something that links to deep, dark powers..... maybe even the Shadow Men or some spirit or ancestors of them, who are trying restore the balance of the Slayer

I find it mildly interesting that Twilight even needs Warren's help to destroy a building.

I'd be shocked if it were Giles. In the 3rd issue, he was inquiring about who Twilight is as well. If anything, I think Giles will be one of the main contributors who can eventually defeat Twilight... he and Faith helped gain possession of an apparently very powerful book bearing Twilight's mark. He's actually closer to defeating him than Buffy at this point. It would be a HUGE curve ball to have him as the villain.

well didnt willow put up protection on the castle for magic but not technology. if so then maybe twilight cant get close to the castle and need warren to make that missile

By "we haven't seen he/she/it yet",I mean someone totally new to the Buffyverse.

Personally,I think we can rule out Giles and Xander.

This would mean that Willow's magic is powerful enough to stop/slow or potentially defeat Twilight....

It's Willow. Kennedy will die, somehow for/because of Buffy, and Willow will go dark again, and won't be stopped this time.

I thought Willow and Kennedy have broken up?

Willow didn't love Kennedy as much as she loved Tara. And besides, Willow's already been the big bad...it gets old.

No, Willow and Kennedy are still together. Willow reveals in 'Anywhere but Here' that the reason that Buffy hasn't seen Kennedy for a while is because Willow's been keeping her away, because the people she loves always seem to die around Buffy.

UnKle
Which has just gotta do wonders for Buffy's already high self-esteem...
Has anyone suspected that twilight may just be excess from Willow's spell to activate all the slayers, Spike mentioned there us always a price to pay.
