Audible released a clip on Twitter but it only lasts about a minute so not sure if there is a bigger version as well

Just one week to go until the 13th season (with the real actors) in the Buffyverse.
I might give it a try but it would take more than what's on offer for me to consider it the 13th season 🙂

Late to first impressions about the news, but I'm here for it. Maybe it's because I used to wish for the Buffyverse to encompass the entire Slayer historical narrative--and I used to read apocalyptic and crossover Buffy fan fiction back in the day--but I really don't mind the AU.

So Buffy was never born in the reality where our revived characters came from according to that interview. No Buffy presumably means no Dawn.

I wonder if that means Willow, Xander, and Giles ended up dead instead of Tara, Cordelia, and Anya.

So, James is definitely the narrator. That does make sense, given it's something he does already.

There's also this article:
Reading that it seems like it’s going to be very much the wish fulfilment Mary Sue versions of their characters to be honest

Also I couldn’t tell if that meant they were ignoring AtS? I totally get ignoring the comics but ignoring AtS doesn’t seem right

Oh, I think I have finally worked out why Christopher Golden's name sounded familiar. I have some books by someone with that name.

Yeah, he's wrote a bunch of buffy books
I don't believe Amber when she says that she only wanted this set of characters because she wanted to focus on characters that were underserved or such.

To be fair, Charisma is by far the cheapest option, the Paul McGann of Slayers. Sarah is too expensive, Eliza is married to a billionaire, nobody cares about the voice actress or Kristy, and Kendra can still find real jobs. So, shadow self it is.

"Underserved" is not really a word I'd apply to Spike...

@nightshade These aren't Buffy books; that is likely why I didn't twig to it immediately! Laws of Nature, The Lost Army (when did I buy a Hellboy book?) and a couple from the Prowlers series.

I saw that Charisma had posted about this on Instagram yesterday. Due to this, I may actually give if a try! I'm not big on Audiobooks, but this is intriguing and exciting.

I wonder if Audible has a free trial period...

It says it does. In the UK, anyway.

It doesn't sound like they're ignoring Angel, it's just that the events of that show are really only relevant to Spike in this series.

It's not the same Cordelia, it's not the same Drusilla, it's not the same Anya or Tara and those two barely knew Angel in our universe to begin with. As far as we know Clem and Olivia have never met Angel. Jonathan and Amy may know Angel but we've never seen them interact on screen.

So, really, of all the returning characters only Spike and Giles have any sort of significant relationship to Angel or his crew.
