I saw that like a year after it came out I think. I do remember every one talking about it at the time. Actually I might have watched it in a class. Sadly there are people that eat McDonalds or other fast food like every day. Not sure about every meal of every day. I mean it's basically what I expected. If you eat like shit, then you're going to get fat and have health issues. McDonalds no longer has the "super size" option anymore. I do eat at McDonalds maybe like 10 times in a year, I eat Taco Bell more, but I'm sure this movie discouraged people from eating fast food for a while. But eventually people forget and most go back to their old habits.

Don't worry about Avatar, I actually think it's over rated. Didn't really care for the story. While the visuals were great, that only goes so far towards an enjoyable movie.
50 Shades of Grey -5/10
So I finally decided to watch this (although I still have yet to see the Twilight movies). It wasn't as bad as a I thought. The story is kind of boring, Grey feels like a obsessive creeper most of the time. I feel like there could have been a nice romantic story in there some where. Also disappointed by the lack of sex scenes. I was expecting more. But I am intrigued by Christian Grey's past, so hopefully the sequels will give me answers.

Bound 4/10
This one has Charisma Carpenter, and while she's a good actress, it's kind of hard seeing here in this. All I can think is Cordy. lol. Also the guy in this is worst than Christian Grey, he feels more like a rapist or serial killer, at least Grey is just a possessive stalker. I will say that it does not feel like a 50 Shades rip off movie, very different plot, but that doesn't make it better, just slightly more realistic scenario. Perhaps if they got a better guy to play the role, Idk.

Honestly I don't recommend either one of these movies.

You guys are missing the point about Super Size Me, there's more to it than just saying if you eat lots of fatty food you will get fat, its taking a broader look at how cyrical McDonald's promotion towards kids are and that it puts extra pressure on the parents to buy the meals for the kids. Also, it is still pretty eye opening to find out just the amount of fat that is in the meals. Its not true that the film didn't have an impact because it actually made McDonalds more honest about what is in their food, and as a result of the documentary they stopped selling the meal.

Not missing the point at all. Got all that. And I didn't say it didn't have impact. It just didn't have an impact on me because I saw it very late in the game.

Well it was more aimed at FB, but fair point, but you don't need to see Avatar so I can save you that trouble at least😉

So theoretically you'll be 100 years old before you get around to watching the fifth Avatar.

Don't worry it won't get that far as Cameron would have been given the death sentence for crimes against cinema with any luck😀

Like I said its been a long time since I've seen the movie. Whatever impact it had is just lost on me now.
There are MORE Avatar movies? I thought there was just one?
Well.. yeah.. currently there is just the one. Hence the 100 when the fifth one comes out. Three are guaranteed but he has two more scripts written. He is just waiting for technology to catch-up with him.

With a bit of luck people will start to see sense and the next couple won't do as well. And what he calls "waiting for the technology to catch up" I call a 'marketing ploy'😉

Ant Man (2015) 7/10

A mostly fun and inventive superhero film, with some eye catching action sequences, a decent plot and some fine character acting, not least from Michael Douglas, the guy from House of Cards, and Paul Rudd who is very well cast in the lead role. The comedy was a bit hit and miss and the plot a bit slow getting going, but once I got into it I had a good time, and it was nice to see a superhero film not take itself too seriously and not drag on and on like some.

School of Rock (2003) 8/10

Proof that the family film is not quite dead yet, and proof that Jack Black is more than just a comic slacker, that he has the charm and comic timing to actually lead his own film. The music is brilliant, and the interaction with the kids is just delightful, packed full of great gags, but a film with real heart, and instantly quotable, great fun!

Safe House (2011) 6.5/10

One of the more solid and suspenseful horror remakes. Elizabeth Olson is again excellent in the lead role, she is very natural and because she is in every scene you at least care and root for her character. The film does retain a pretty creepy, lo-fi feel throughout, but as the plot begins to unfold it does become too predictable and doesn't have that many surprises, the more you see the less scary, but there was at least an interesting twist in the tale at the end.

Oh I love School of Rock!
Ant Man - 8/10
I was so excited to see this movie, and I thought it was awesome. The actors were great, I love Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas was awesome, and I liked Evangeline Lilly. Some of the side characters were a bit annoying at times. The comedy was mostly good, the action was great, I loved the shrinking power and how that is used. The controlling the ants things was a bit silly but it worked. The plot was ok, but I really liked the father/daughter relationship stories in it, it even made me tear up a bit. It's a smaller scale (literally) than most of the other Marvel superheros which I really liked. It also acknowledges that the avengers are in around, and connects with the marvel universe well, without it being distracting. I really like the Marvel movies and so this is no different, it's better then some of the weaker movies.

Good review! Yeah Evangeline Lilly was good also. And good point about how they handled the whole Avengers aspect it really didn't get in the way, but felt like something worth mentioning. Its interesting to hear about all the behind the scenes stuff going on with this movie with Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish being kicked off mid-project because for the most part it seems to have a pretty clear thread.

Oh and I'm an idiot because the horror film I saw was Silent House not safe house sorry!😱

Crystal Fairy & the Magical Cactus... 3.5/5

Very interesting movie. I genuinely bought into the characters and invested in the story by the end. I wanted to see how it would play out. Cera and Hoffmann played off one another well.

X-Men: Day's of Future Past (The Rogue Cut) 8.5/10

Really enjoyed it, think I enjoyed it more the second time around actually. Plus, if like me, you liked the movie but would have liked a bit more screen time with the original cast... I'd definitely recommend getting the Rogue Cut. Balances it out a bit more IMO.

There's a Rogue cut O_O?? Now I need to get my hands on that.

Yeah, there's basically a whole extra mission involving Magneto, Xavier, Iceman and Rogue that sadly didn't make the cinema version. Definitely worth checking out 🙂

I heard about the scene but heard it wouldn't be released, glad to know it was! Rogue is one of my favourite X-Men!
Fargo (1996) 8/10

A slow burner, but has really distinct characters and dialogue, some odd black humour, and a beautiful look, great cast too. I still think it gets a bit over praised, but that might be just because of how good many of the Coens films have been.

Lonely Are the Brave (1962) 8/10

A very different kind of Western. It has much more emotional depth, and strong male and female roles, it has a very stylish look, and good mix of comedy, action and drama.

i heard about this too but since i dont like the rogue version of the movies, i havent cared to watch it.

Unfortunately the movies did rogue wrong and to make it even worst, they left gambit out.

I think calling it "The Rogue Cut" is a bit inaccurate anyway really.
I mean yes Rogue's inclusion is certainly a notable part of it... but it's generally more time with the present day mutants that appealed to me. Xavier, Magneto, Iceman and Kitty also get additional scenes that are well worth it IMO, we see what has become of the academy in the current timeline, and it intercuts the past and present scenes in even cooler, more dramatic ways than the theatrical version.

While I love Gambit and would love some Rogue-Gambit interaction (especially now Iceman and Kitty are together).... I think they had enough characters in DOFP already. Some might argue more than enough, because there were a few underdeveloped additions.
Surprised they cut so much of the old crew, since it is there last movie, or maybe it's just me that was expecting more when I heard they were making DOFP
I felt the same. The way it was advertised, I definitely thought there'd be more of a balance between the original and First Class teams. More McKellen and Stewart especially is always a good thing in my book 😀

This is awesome! I definitely wanted more of the old cast in the movie, and I wanted to see Rogue. I might have to buy this one.
Basket Case (1982) 9/10

A classic in the body horror/trash genre. A very distinctive look and creepy atmosphere, with some superb creature effects, its wonderfully hammy in the tradition of all the best trash horror films. Great fun, but pretty nasty and disturbing too.

Deadline (2009) 6.5/10

Solid haunted house horror. Brittney Murphy feels a bit miscast as the writer slowly losing her mind, but Thora Birch is as watchable as always, and Marc Blucas is more believable when playing a psycho😉 Anyway, its a fairly interesting plot, with a chilling atmosphere, but as it comes towards the end it becomes more predictable, and the ending is trying to be way too clever, and just feels a bit of a mess.

The Hike (2011) 3/10

What started off as a standard made for TV explotation flick turned into a pretty lomesome piece of filth in the second half, with the female cast subjected to some pretty crude treatment, and overly graphic assaults at the hands of the Male psychopaths, and we get to see every gory moment too, and not suprisely its directed by a male, the twist at the end is predictable too.

Planet Terror (2007) 7/10

Much more knowing, and stylish and gory than Tarantino's boring, sexist, and self-important half of the Grindhouse Double bill. It actually looks like a Grindhouse film too.

Sharknado 3 7/10

Lots of recycled stars such as David Hasselhoff, Iain Ziering and Bo Derek, cameos by NASCAR drivers and Jackie Collins make this a fun send-up of the genre. But does it work as serious cinema?

Oh, hell no!

Haha, yea I like the first 2 Sharknado, and can't wait to see this one, they're not good movies, but just cheesy and fun.
