Popular episodes like Becoming part 2, Passion, The Body, Lullaby are my most favourite to cry to so I'm going to try and pick my slightly less obvious ones..

Buffy
Series 1 Prophecy Girl.
When Buffy tells Giles she is only 16 and doesn't want to die.
Series 2 Surprise.
When Buffy in her bedroom goes to the cross chain that Angel got her and puts it in her hand and starts weeping and goes to her bed inconsolable.
Series 3 The Prom.
The skewer scene and Buffy crying on Willow
Series 4 Wild at Heart.
Willow crying asking Oz if he doesn't love her anymore
Series 5 The Gift.
Buffy's death. I need to say no more than that!
Series 6 Bargaining 1/Flooded
Giles saying goodbye at the airport. Giles seeing Buffy upon his return to Sunnydale.
Series 7 Chosen
Xander asking Andrew for Anya and being proud of her for fighting to her death

Angel
Series 1 IWRY/Hero
Buffy and Angel crying before time resets and Doyle's death
Series 2 There's No Place like Plrtz Glrb
Angel arriving back home to the hotel to find Willow there. Just one look of Willow's face and Angel KNOWS..
Series 3 Sleep tight
Holtz takes Connor through the portal to another dimension before Angel can get to his son. And when the rift closes, Angel falls to the ground in complete despair
Series 4 Home.
Angel watching Connor with his new family saying goodbye to his son in the hopes his son has a better and healthy life without him
Series 5 When I realise that Spike was going to be in the main cast for this series!! But seriously it's..

I'm going to sound like a broken record here but for Buffy, The Gift and The Body are the saddest for me, and on Angel, A Hole in the World.

Also, on Angel I would say Forgiving is also a sad episode, mainly because of poor Wes in the hospital bed with Angel cruelly yelling at him and trying to suffocate him

For Angel The Trial is pretty brutal. It has to be I Will Remember You though. When Sarah is crying so much that David breaks character and calls Buffy ‘sarah’. Kills me.

Buffy has never managed to actually make me cry only one series has actually brought me to tears, however that isn't saying some episodes aren't actually heartbreaking.

After funniest I'm curious to know what do you think were the saddest episodes of Buffy and Angel?

For Buffy, Becoming part 2, Grave and The Body made me ugly cry the most.

For Angel it's A hole in the world and Sleep tight

What about you?

There are a hell of a lot sad scenes in Buffy. My top 5 off the top of my head would probably be:

1. "Passion". When Buffy and Willow find out about Jenny's death and Angel is watching them through the window.

2. "Beneath You". When Spike is laying across and burning himself on the cross, talking about how his soul hurts, and Buffy watches.

3. "Innocence". Buffy wakes up to Angelus...enough said.

4. "The Gift". Buffy's death. Seeing the looks of everyone's faces is heartbreaking.

5. "Dead Things". Buffy confessing her relationship with Spike to Tara.

"Seeing Red," I've only watched it once. It messes up badly with 4 characters that I really like: Buffy, Spike, Willow and Tara.

Season 2: "Passion": Namely Angelus murdering Jenny Calendar because he knows about the relationship between her and Giles, and because she's also close to Buffy and Willow.
"Becoming" (Part 2) Buffy kills Angel just as Wllow finally masters the Kalderash spell and returns his soul to him.
Season 4: Wild at Heart: Oz leaves Sunnydale, breaking Willow's heart, after killing Verucca.
Season 5: The Body: Joyce dies of natural causes
Season 6: Seeing Red: Warren kills Tara.
Villains: Willow avenges Tara's death and flays Warren alive
Season 7: Chosen: Anya dies, and Spike seems to sacrifice his existence to destroy the Hellmouth

Angel
Season 5: "A Hole in the World": Fred transforms into Illyria.
Season 5: "Not Fade Away": Wesley dies.

(A) The body...Sarah's acting probably the best acting I have seen
(B) Bargaining pt2
(C) Dead things......Buffy realize that she is at the bottom
(D) the Gift.... we never got Buffy truly back after that
