should i watch angel?

Yeah, by Batman I just mean Superheroics by night. The pilot episode is a lot more proper dark night detective, which basically gets dropped, you are right. I probably should have just said Highlander Nights; With a lot less Queen.

it doesn't really add to the plot of Buffy after season 1, but if you don't feel like watching the whole series, watch s1e8 (I Will Remember You). In my opinion it's really important to the plot of Buffy.

My friend... you sound just like me 13 years ago when I first signed up to become a member on BB. I literally pondered the same thing and had the same doubts as yours because I disliked Angel on BtVS.

Just know that I'm a little jealous of you getting to experience the show for the first time. It took me six episodes, but I eventually got into it. I can almost guarantee you that once you reach the final ten episodes of the show, you'll be looking back at this thread and will want to slap yourself in the face. 🤣

The show is just more Buffyverse goodness. You'll get to experience the incredible growth of certain characters. Enjoy, and see you on the other side!

I love Angel. On Buffy he is simply Buffy's boyfriend, but on his own show he becomes one of the best and most complex characters on either show.
And while the show has the same DNA as Buffy it has its own unique feel. Heck individual seasons on Angel often have their own unique feel !
I hope you enjoy it but at the very least you will love the crossover eps like I Will Remember You, Sanctuary etc
And I prefer the characters that appeared in multiple eps on both shows in their Angels eps rather than their Buffy eps even Faith and maybe even S5 Spike

Omg yes! I started watching Buffy season 4 and Angel season 1 right as they premiered and they go so well together; and Angels series adds so much to the Buffy verse. It’s over 100 more episodes of Buffyverse content how could you not check it out if you love BtVS? Also Angel is so much more likable on his own show! He’s much more funny…. But it’s not out of character, he just isn’t surrounded by the melodrama of Bangel.
