Watching YW right now and I was thinking how they should have kept her around until the end of the show instead of just having her die again and have everyone forget about her waking up.

So do you think that they should have kept Cordelia around for the final 12 episodes of the season?

As a Cordy fan, of course I do. They should've brought her in even earlier. And of course they should've had Cangel instead of Nangel. Especially with fred also gone for the last few episodes, there really was something missing, although the episodes really had something.

There's only one point I'm a little worried about...Angel going 'bad', ergo being 'corrupted' by the firm (which he did to get into the Order of the Thorn). I don't know if they could've pulled that off so easily with Cordy around. Especially with Cangel.

They could have pulled it off still. Infact Cordelia could have helped very easily. She could have thrown a big fit about how they all changed and how she cant trust them anymore and she "leaves" and then joins back up in the final battle.

I LOVE Cordy so I WANT to say yes.... I think she never should have been gone at all. She should have been there for all of S5, but had she been, it of course would have been a completely different S5 than the one we know... As it is though, I don't think it would have worked for her to have stayed on from You're Welcome on. The one big thing from her appearance in that episode, which we find out later on, was the vision that Cordy passed on to Angel through that last kiss, it was that vision that led him on the path and guided his descisions for the rest of the season. Knowing that was her one chance to guide Angel was why Cordy was there essentially... so no, I don't think it would have worked it she'd stayed on from that point on 🙁

Cordelia sould certainly been used more in Season 5, but most likely things would have worked out better if she had been there for the first half, then somehow killed/put in a coma. Cordy was pretty much the anchor in Angel's crew, keeping everyone else focused on the big mission. Her loss at mid season might have even made more sense, taking away that stabilizing force that would lead to the confusion, loss of perspective, then finally refocus, new resolve, and desperate retaliation that ended Season 5.

I think it would have benefitted the show to HAVE gone a totally different direction in season 5, since it was a very cold, uninvolving season. I agree that the S5 that was actually made would have been thrown off considerably by Cordelia's presence, but I think the gang taking over W&H in general was a bad story idea, and season 5 proved that. Had Cordy not been put in a coma, I don't think the move to W&H would have been made...for she wouldn't have allowed it...and Angel would have listened to her in the end.

I think her time was up. I really hated her evilness in season 4,and even if she was same old cordy, i just didn't see how she'd fit into wolfram and hart. forgive me, i have a bias as i miss original bitchy Cordy on BTVS.

season five was awesome and, as much as i love cordy, it wouldn't have worked if she was there. She's had some great moments in the comic.

Wait huh?! Cordy in the comic? After the Fall?! Is that a spoiler? DAMN IT!
I don't like the way Cordelia went. And I'm not talking about her leaving in season 5, but in season 4. I didn't like the fact that she went bad and then into coma. Of course I didn't like hr dying. And she was my favorite character on Angel at first. Because I couldn't stand Angel. He just seemed kind of mean, and Cordy was there with her lightness and humor. It was all missing in season 5. But I have to admit when Fred came in, she was my favorite along with Cordelia. But then I liked Fred more than Cordy, because Cordy's character went dark. So I think his is when they killed her. Not in season 5. I keep thinking that if she were on season 5, this season would make a better season. Don't get me wrong, this is my favorite season. But it could have been much better with Cordy in it.

I think pretty much everyone agrees:

YES.

BTW
I love your banner. I just bought a Buffy-comic themed skin for my laptop. 🙂

She got pregnant, and they had to adjust the plot aorund that. And it all just went downhill from there.

Damned babies lol j/k

I haven't seen much of Angel yet, but I have seen everything of season 5, and I'd say, no. YW was very sweet and everything, but part of Angels troubles in the season was missing Cordy, like he also said somewhere (if I'm not mistaken). He wouldn't be able to pull of the Black Thorn infiltration with her around, I think. And it would really have ruined the story if Cordy survived and she just told him about her vision. Now, with the kiss and all, it was way more mysterious. Which fitted nice with the rest of the season.

Personally, I was amazed by cordy, especially her beautiful exit in S3 and then they destroyed her is S4, I think they should've left her as a higher being. She coulda still probably done "you're welcome" thats just my opinion.

I couldn't stand Cordelia in Buffy. In Angel, she started growing on me, up until the point where her and Angel "fell in love" and then that whole her and Conner thing. She was undoubtedly great in the series, but I was kind of glad to see her gone.

Of course they should have kept Cordelia for the whole show!!! She was fantastic in AtS, and Cangel was adorable and amazing.

Conner? Yes. I agree, her getting together with him was an awful and disturbing storyline I could have lived without.

From what I understand, they had to do something with her character due to Charisma's pregnancy. Sometimes things just happen with actors. I don't think Joss and C. wanted to butcher her character like they did.

I think that if Cordy had been around in S4, she would have very strongly opposed to Team Angel taking over Wolfram and Hart. Anyone agree?

Thing is, Charisma got knocked up during season 4, which is why they changed/made the whole Jasmine storyline (not sure how much was going to be done pre-preggers or what-not). Then, in season 5, I guess she would have wanted to stay at home with baby rather than be acting on a show where most of the shooting is done in the evening (night-feeds much?). I'm glad she came back for that episode though 🙂

Since Cordy is my favorite character, it goes without saying that i would have liked her to stay. I didn't really enjoy season 5, but things greatly improved after You're Welcome. It was a great send off, and it was nice to see her again. I would have liked to see one more appearance for her. After Illyria appeared, I hated that they said that Fred's soul was destroyed. It was a horrible, sad ending for Fred. I always hoped that Cordy, as a higher being would appear to Wesley, and tell him that she had saved Fred's soul and that Fred was at peace. That would have been nice.

Cordelia is my fav character, but I think it's true, she couldn't have been a part of the season 5 we saw. She would have opposed team Angel working for W&H completely...
Maybe instead of Your Welcome (don't get me wrong I loved YW), Cordelia could have actually awoken (not a PTB manifestation) in 'Power Play' and been around for the last couple of eps, then at least she wouldn't have died, and she could have been in the final battle with Angel. Also, this way, the problem of Cordelia opposing W&H and the others working for it happily wouldn't have existed, as by this time, they all knew they'd made the wrong decision moving to W&H...
I would have loved to see some Cordy/Illyria scenes.
