Shows You Gave Up After Seeing Several Episodes/Seasons

Teen Wolf - watched the first season and the first few eps of the second season,
but there were no female characters I actually liked and the show didn't seem to be saying anything to me. This show is so homoerotic, I found myself wishing they'd just get it on, not just stare longingly at each other and fight with their shirts off 🙄

American Horror Story - Liked Murder House and Asylum, couldn't get through Coven so stopped watching until Roanake, which was okay but not great and I doubt I'll even attempt Cult.

Nooo I had such high hopes for Roanoke!! Every time a new season comes out I honestly believe it will be as good as the first two and then I get incredibly disappointed.. 🙁

Angie Tribeca (2 episodes. Rashida Jones is awesome, but the style of humour is too over-the-top and inconsistent for me.)
The Simpsons (Sure its been pretty bad for the last 20 years, but I did keep seeing the occasional episode on TV to see how bad it got. Don't even do that now.)

It's mostly the so called "prestige" shows that I find myself slugging through. I couldn't get passed the second episode of Mad Men, could barely get pass the first. I think the Sopranos is okay, yet overrated as hell. And as lauded and critically acclaimed as The Wire is, I didn't even finish the first season. It's not bad per say, I just find the pacing to be a bit slow, and I found myself distracted by other things while watching it. I feel like I need to complete The Wire though, especially since it tells such an important story about the plight of American inner city life, something I know a thing or two about. Maybe that's the reason why I kept stopping while watching the first season. I live in urban America. I know the rules of the game. It plays like real life, and for that, I could just walk right outside.

7th Heaven. Mary dissapered, Lucy married a tool and the Camden house filled up with a bunch of freeloaders.

Breaking Bad. It is really good, but sooo depressing. I like Better Call Saul much better.

Arrested Development. Weeeeird show. Too many cheap gags just draaaaged on.

Peepshow. Couldn't handle the awkwardness. Love Mitchel, Webb, Coleman and Super Hans, though.

I think the Sopranos is okay, yet overrated as hell.

I havent seen the last few eps of TVD, I feel like its tortured me for long enough, but I'll likely see it for closure one bored day.

I went back to Shield (left it mids2 and picked it up again about mid S4) and was glad I did. It has the Joss style humour.

I also got lost in S2/3 of BSG and was glad I returned.

Eureka - but I intend to finish this when I find it

Better Call Saul - What was I just watching? Some guy doing a job he doesn't know how to do.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D - I saw the first episode and thought if any of the actors forget a line I could cue them. It seemed like an amalgam of every other show I had seen with the same subject matter.

There are so many shows I've abandoned, due to crappy writing, redundant storylines and the writers just losing the plot (pun intended). Here are the main ones:

1. Supernatural - stopped after Season 5, because I felt the show had reached its natural conclusion and hoo-boy, was I right, the series literally goes round and round in circles these days and is basically fanfic come to life.
2. Pretty Little Liars - stopped mid-Season 6, this show slowly started to unravel over Seasons 3/4, got a little better in Season 5 and then completely lost it during Season 6.
3. Once Upon A Time - stopped mid-Season 3, basically as soon as they killed off the amazing and integral Neal Cassidy to make way for the forced and toxic ship that was Captain Swan, ugh.
4. Arrow - stopped at the beginning of Season 3, pretty much once FeFe Sue started to get pushed to the forefront, Sara died and the Lauriver ship was abandoned. Still contemplating going back but I pretty much know everything that happens.
5. Scandal - stopped after Season5, I marathoned the first five seasons, fell completely in love with the show, then realised how crappy it actually was and abandoned it completely.
6. Smallville - stopped at the beginning of Season 8, the show had just gone for too long, two of my faves were gone by that point and I was starting to get exhausted. Still haven't finished it.
7. Grey's Anatomy - stopped after Season 5, picked it back up, stopped again after Season 8, this show has just gone for too long, I was getting tired of the constant rotation of characters, and my faves kept dying/leaving, so I just gave up.
8. How I Met Your Mother - stopped after Season 7, the show was getting repetitive and I was really starting to notice the annoying/problematic/gross aspects of the series too much.
9. Criminal Minds - stopped after Season 8, the show was becoming too much for me, it was entirely too comfortable showing (in graphic detail) a lot of the violence and torture the UnSubs put their victims through, and it just got too dark for me.

So many! I've reached a point where I drop shows pretty easily. Just to name a few...

• Once Upon A Time – Season 3, after Neal was killed off; I had wanted to drop the show for a while but I persisted because Neal... so in hindsight, I'm glad he was killed off just because it freed from the show.
• Bones – Somewhere in season 8, I think? I was very unimpressed with the way Booth and Brennan got together and just got bored of the show. No scripted show should go on for that long.
• Game of Thrones – After season 4. There are just too few characters that I care about and so many characters in the show... I can't keep up.
• Teen Wolf – Season 3, after Allison was killed off.
• Grey's Anatomy – During season 9. It got so repetitive! Again, no scripted show should go on for this long.
• Haven – After season 4. I really loved this show during season 1, still liked it during seasons 2 and 3, but by the end of season 4 I disliked Nathan too much to care about tuning in for the last season.
• The Good Wife – Somewhere during season 6. Season 5 was pretty great from what I can remember, and I didn't even particularly love Will but without him, the show really didn't feel the same.
• The 100 – The beginning of season 3. I don't even remember what was going on at the time, but I didn't like the direction the show was taking. Also, the characters that I didn't like kept sticking around. No thanks!
• I never watched season 8 of That '70s Show – well, I watched the premiere and the finale – because I was warned of how bad it was.

TVD (post S6 because Elena was my fav but I watched series finale cause she was back)
OUAT (post S6 cause Emma left but I wonder what it's like now)

How did they get together? I've watched a handful of episodes here in there in no particular order. I found the show pretty boring and I couldn't get into it but it's not really my type of show. I don't like the Bones and the Castles and the NCIS type shows.

It was at the end of season 6 after one of the interns is killed, so I guess tensions and emotions were high, and Booth and Brennan sleep together. Then the episode after this is the season 6 finale and the last scene is Brennan telling Booth she's pregnant. And then... they're together forever. It doesn't sound that bad but it just annoyed me that I endured six seasons worth of will-they-wont-they (after waiting for so long I kind of stopped caring about them even getting together) only for them to be together so suddenly; it felt jarring to go from that long-established dynamic to 'they're in love and having a baby.' In addition to that, it felt very anti-climatic to me because the buildup was lacking. I think season 4/5 would've been a better point to pair them together.

I'm usually the same in regard to shows such as Bones, Castle, and NCIS because procedurals bore me after a while.

They were "not together" for 6 seasons?!? I'm impressed lol.

I once came across an angry rant from NUMBER of Bones fans who complained about how towards the end of the run of the show Booth and Brennan never even slept together and they were upset about the show's decision to make them look boring and like a boring old married couple. I have no idea if its true but I thought it was funny how upset they were about it. I mean that would upset me too I guess, but they are a middle aged married couple - what do you want them to do?

I got fed up after S6 TVD, not enough Katherine
Game of Thrones got real boring, the little chickadee that played with fire was an interesting character, that and I like dragons but the rest of it was crap.
Sleepy Hollow failed during season 1. The writers were real not up to it.
Being Human UK was bad value for money so I bought Being Human USA season 1 and 2. Season 3 has yet to be released.
I've went and bought the films From Dusk To Dawn 1, 2 and 3 and season 1 of the series but I'm running out of vampire stuff to get, I've got over 200 DVD's of vampire stuff.
Werewolves are next I've only got 18 DVD's of them.
And maybe I'll get mild horror films like Ring 1 and 2, Exorcist 1, 2 and 3 and The Messengers. A good one is The Haunting with Liam Neeson turn the sub woofer to max the film went from so-so to scary real quick. The volume setting on them so called scary stuff can vary so much with the volume setting.
And I do like War of the Worlds stuff.

The volume is the only thing that makes many of the "scary" movies actually "scary" That is one reason why I dislike so many of the modern horror films.

That aspect I like... I just don't like when they go with the JUMP SCARE!!! and make it so loud. I hate the sudden loud noises in them. They purposefully decrease the ambient sound just before it happens to make it more startling. But you aren't being startled by what's on screen rather than what you hear. Anyway, that's off topic.

The old films had to make you afraid as the volume button didn't go high. It was the sighting of the figure in the woods that scared you whereas in modern films its the bloke who shouts boo really loud. The visual effects seemed better as well. IE in the early Hammer films when Dracula bit someone you didn't see a flood of red stuff down the neck and all over Dracula's face.

Being Human UK was bad value for money so I bought Being Human USA season 1 and 2. Season 3 has yet to be released.

Oh Being Human US is so so very terrible...

I think I plan to rewatch All of Fringe at some point since it's been so long.
