Top 10 reasons I hate Kennedy

Kennedy should have died instead of Amanda, especially instead of Anya, but anyways, that would have been bad for Willow since she already lost Tara, which sucked.
10. She is the most annoying person every
9. Did I mention annoying?
8. She thought she was better then all the other potentials because of Willow
7. She is rich so she thinks everything is about her, lol...not that all rich ppl think that
6. She thought she had to be in almost all the scooby meetings cause of Willow
5. She is not Tara
4. Bossy
3. Annoying...again, cant stress that enough
2. She always had to input, even tho no one wanted to hear it
1. She is the main reason Buffy was OUT! Darn her!

4. She kicked Buffy out of the house (That made Spike sad 🙁 )

If Kennedy is responsible for this then she would be a good thing, Buffy need to be kicked out of the house. She was acting insane and was in need of a lesson!

She may have been acting insane, but it turned out she was RIGHT. That doesn't excuse her manner, she could have been more understanding of the feelings of the potentials. She'd been dealing with this kind of stuff for years, so I think she didn't take in to account that the potentials were newbies, she just expected to command and they follow. Still, I think they were wrong to kick her out, not just Kennedy....but Dawn, Willow, Faith....all of them.

I think Buffy should've kicked all of them out.First of all,it was her house and she was just trying to train the potentials. If they didn't like it,they could've just left.If it wasn't for Buffy taking in the potentials into HER house, they would've all been killed by the bringers. And to have Dawn kick the person that literally gave her life for her was just awful.I was really angry at all of them when they kicked Buffy out.Like I read in some message board,Buffy should've have said,"If you guys don't like the way I'm running things, you can stop the apocalypse yourself.Sucks for all you who don't have superpowers."But Buffy is noble and she would never do that.

Well, I definitely don't agree with you about Buffy being noble. I think she was often selfish and "holier-than-thou." 😉

But anyways, back on the actual discussion topic, Kennedy was very egotistical and was pretty mean to everyone. She was really rude and thought she knew everything. How annoying!

My feelings on Kennedy have mellowed since first watching s7 when it aired on tv. Then, I guess, I did actually hate her but only as much as most of the other potentials. Now she merely annoys me.

She's a spoilt rich girl who expects to get her way and for everyone to pay attention to her. She never seems to learn that its not the way to be because stays the pretty much same throughout the season. At some point the writers should have had her learn some humility and respect for those that have been in the slaying game a hell of a lot longer than her.

My biggest Kennedy related issue is her relationship with Willow. I don't mind the fact that Willow found someone else coz it was months after Tara had died and she didn't just fall for Kennedy, it was a process. I just find it hard to believe that Willow could see anything appealing in her (besides her looks, I guess). Oz and Tara were both very caring, giving, humble people and Kennedy is none of those things. Yes, she's confident and maybe Willow needed that at the time, but Oz was confident but in good way. There's confidence and then there's egocentric bullying and Willow should have been able to tell the difference. It seems to me that the writers were just intent on creating someone different from Oz and Tara for her to fall for without considering whether it actually worked or not.

Yea I really hoped kennedy would have died also...plus like she said she was too old to be a slayer..anyway..so i gues the point was willow hasnt been with anyone...and she needed to just feel like she belonged to someone

Ohhh i heard on a different site that Kennedy was there due to Amber Benson......
Apparently Joss had a plan for the 5 to last episode...
Buffy was to get one wish(through something Demon or summat)....
After hours of deliberating Willow walks into Buffy's room and sees her standing in some new Shoes.......Willow tells her off for the shoes, saying the wish couls have been used to save the world.....Buffy tells her that the shoes were a gift, her wish was standing behind the door....Willow turns around and BAM...Taras alive....

But Benson was busy, so Joss made the decision.....

I dont know if its true,.....but i would have LOVED that

Oh that made me cry, stupid Benson and her being busy-ness....that would have made me soo happy, and obviously, i dont care much for Kennedy, so that would have made the end so much better.

That would have been really corny. Even though Buffy's about supernatural stuff, it's always been acclaimed for the way it handles real feelings, emotions and situations we go through as we grow up and dealing with a loss is one of them.

I'm glad Willow moved on, it made her happy and that's all that mattered really.

I'm sorry, but that sounds so incredibly lame. Thank goodness for Amber Benson. She saved Joss Whedon from regressing the story.

TOP TEN REASONS WHY I LOVE KENNEDY

1. She wasn't another version of Tara

3. She was capable of great compassion.

Those two are antithesis of each other. Tara was capable of great compassion and Kennedy wasn't another version of Tara, therefore, Kennedy was NOT capable of great compassion.

8. She was not embarrassed about her sexual preference.

Who was? Willow? Please...

9. She was a charasmatic character who made a lot of friends.

Who were they? Xander? Giles? Buffy? Because last time I checked it was their show.

10. She questioned Buffy's authority and didn't become a mindless pushover.

She was a pushover; she abruptly changed sides; she didn't have a firm belief of what's right and what's wrong. She waited to be told. And plus to that she wanted to be a leader. She questioned Buffy's authority because she doesn't know how to behave, what is right and what is wrong, where-am-I-and-what-am-I concepts.

Apparently, you never saw "The Killer in Me" or have forgotten that Kennedy was willing to go back to Willow, despite what happened between them in "Get It Done".
Who was? Willow? Please...

Again, your memory seemed to be failing you. Have you forgotten that Willow was reluctant to admit to the other Scoobies that she had started a lesbian relationship with Tara, back in late Season 4?

Who were they? Xander? Giles? Buffy? Because last time I checked it was their show.

I realize that you would prefer to forget that the Potentials were on the show during the second half of Season 7. But . . . Kennedy did manage to make friends with most of the SITs . . . aside from Chloe, I suspect.

Boy, now you've painted Kennedy as someone lacking in morals. Where did you get that idea? I admit that she was aggressive and temperamental at times, but I certainly don't recall her behavior succumbing to what you had just described. Or would it have been easier for you if Kennedy had turned out to be some one-dimensional, placid "good girl" who obeyed Buffy without any questions and was flawless in every other way?

I really like Kennedy I though she was a good character to add to the mix, and I think you are very wrong in your last point. Kennedy was far from a pushover. She questioned Buffys authority because she is not afraid to, and because she has her own opinions not because she doesn't know how to behave.

Wow, when I watched season 7, it seemed like all the other potenitals hated her, probably because she was such a bitca to everyone.

And you keep on saying that Kennedy is a good character because she isn't "perfect" like the other ones...what character ISN'T flawed? Everyone is Buffy and Angel is pretty screwed up.

Yeah, its odd having an opinion the same!!!
You only want 10 reasons......damn.....
Kennedy was obnoxious, rude, arrogant, pushy, presumptuous, uninteresting, plain, 1 dimensional, boring and uncharismatic thats 10 for you.
Now thats not the actors fault, Iyari Limon did the best with what she was given(PLUS....have you seen her...yummy).
Now as a Tara fan, people may assume i disliked her due to her Willow relationship, and truthfully, yeah, part of me hates that.
Tara, for me, was not just a love of Willow's life, like Oz, she was THE love. To see Willow move on so quickly after her death, just felt wrong. Now i'm not suggesting Willow stay celibate for life, but Kennedy was 'with' Will within 6 months. Now i know that people have different times to mourn the lost love and relationship, BUT for us viewers, the writers didnt give us enough time.
Hecks, in Conversations with Dead People its evident that Willow is in no way ready to move on, but just two episodes time, she has this Kennedy character flirting(again not an issue) but its only a couple of Epis ofter that, inwhich Willow and Kennedy kiss(The Willow Turns to Warren piece of Crap).

Now Kennedy as a character OUTSIDE Willows relationship still annoys the holy heck a doodle doo out of me.
She wasn't particularly liked by anyone, there was no visible screen time where she even attempted to ingratiate herself with the group...just Willows panties...and the second she saw the gang go one way, so did she...Kennedy was a sheep.....
When Buffy left, she thought she would rise in power among the collective. Why?
What possible reason could she believe her opinion mattered in this group. She wasnt even a Slayer. All she was, was the lover of the Slayer she just helped oust's best friend. Faith had every right to cut her down to size.

Dang i hate that Witch*

LadyLavinia while you do raise interesting points, some of which i will go along with, i do have some issue with some, and your subsequient rebuttal.

1. She wasn't another version of Tara
That was one of the reasons i was hoping to actually Like Kennedy when i knew of her. The idea of Willow experiencing the full range of the Gay world was interesting, i mean Tara, though IMHO transcends sexuality to just being perfect, isn't a true representation of Gay culture, but, and i partially loathe myself for saying it, falls in the Stereotype Lesbian bracket.
I was hoping Kennedy would be something edgy...What a waste of so much potential...hehehe...i made a funny....lol

She was a strong-willed person who did not hesitate to pursue what she had wanted.
I dont think so. I believe she was stuck up, from a rich back ground where she believed she had a right to everything she wanted. This isn't will, its the hypocrisy of wealth, as we know she came from a priviledged background. She shows no sign of being strong willed to me, just ready to go with the group.

3. She was capable of great compassion.
In a limited way she did show compassionate skills, but i could never ever justify the use of great.

4. She was flawed and very interesting
Flawed yes, as is every other character on the programme, but interesting, again nothing showing. She showed all she was interested in was sex and the slaying, nothing more....one of the downsides of so many potentials...no back story really.(writing issue not the character to be honest)

5. She was a kick-ass Potential, who became a kickass Slayer
Well again, she rose in the ranks to a level of team leader, but we never really got enough time of her combative side to attrribute kickass to her, i mean, the only one i could claim kick ass would be Amanda, and thats because she showed her potential before any training.

6. The didn't become some bland, near perfect character that many fans had demanded that she should have been./QUOTE]
You are very correct, she became this bland uninteresting character that fans demanded dead in the finale, just so she would be apart of something interesting.

7. She was a loving partner to Willow.
From her many faults, the character did seem to genuinely care for Willow, and had she been developed more, and it been even just 6 months later, i, and many others, would possibly have accepted her.

8. She was not embarrassed about her sexual preference.
You are correct, and this was one of the things i was hoping that would be targeted.
But you make a comment later about Willow not being the same because in season 4 she was nervous about telling her friends, nee Family.
There is no point there. Willow did tell them relatively early on in her realisation. Its one of the hardest things in the world to tell someone something like that, no matter how close you are, for fear of rejection. Buffy even initially proved those fears accurate with her immediate reaction to Willow, she was nervous and edgy. From season 5 i would say that Willow was definately in the 'I'm Gay and Proud' catagory.

9. She was a charasmatic character who made a lot of friends.
Don't mean to be rude, but what show were you watching. Her relationship with Willow kinda made her stand out of the group. Not a Scoobie, but above the potentials. She didn't have screen time with people other then Willow really. No one said they disliked her granted, but no one seemed enamoured by her either...obviously except bad timing Willow.

10. She questioned Buffy's authority and didn't become a mindless pushover.
Only because the group had. If she really wasnt a push over then why, when Faith told her to shut it, did she whinge behind closed doors. No she only had the courage of her convictions WHEN she had back up.

Sorry all....i ranted
