I agree Wood had a vendetta, Giles didn't, what's his reason for a vendetta against Spike, other then protecting the house full of helpless teenage girls from the vampire that could loose all control of his actions?

Since I've already answered everything else several times, I'll give this one a shot before going back out.

At least we can agree that Wood had a vendetta against Spike for what he did to his mother. Hopefully, we could agree that, like Angel and Angelus, Spike with and without a soul are pretty much different characters sharing the same body.

As a matter of fact, I think that I'll just leave the whole thing right there for tonight and not subject you to any more of my "bull" for awhile. We've beaten this back and forth so many times that we have discussed and dissected every pertinent point at least twice without either of us apparently being able to make any headway in proving our respective positions. We've gone past facts and opinions, and are now moving well into useless rhetoric, which might be great in a political debate, but has no value in something like this.

Anyhow, I have some pressing work that needs to be done before tomorrow, and I've put it off for way too long already.

This is a huge underestimation of Giles character. If he didn't apologise it would have nothing to do with the fact he always hated Spike. It's hardly an unjustified emotion to have towards him so I think it's unfair to come down on him for it. It makes him sound incredibly juvenile and petty and Giles is not that man. If he hasn't apologised then it will be because, despite the outcome, he felt he was right in his reasons for doing what he did at the time and he shouldn't have to apologise for that. He would never be so pathetic as to pretend for so long just because he doesn't like Spike.

Spike is a person I firmly believe has always and will always be on Giles' sh*itlist. You're right - Giles hatred of Spike was not the sole reason he never apologized. He never apologized because he didn't believe he was in the wrong in attempting to get Spike killed.

Who did Giles hold a grudge against and not easily forgive? The only person I can think of who Giles would have changed his feelings about is Angel, post-Angelus and killing Jenny. But even though he may not have felt the same way towards him, he does help Angel in Amends and again in Pangs which doesn't strike me as the actions of a man who has the attitude you've described. Faith does not do anything directly Giles, but she is another character Giles could possibly both hold a grudge against and not forgive, but he does. So from my memory, I can see little evidence of Giles being that guy.

And even with Spike, apart from trying to have him killed, which as far as I'm concerned was because he saw him as a threat, does he actively show he holds a grudge against him other than continuing to see him as a threat no matter what Buffy says? And that's a genuine question because it's a been long time since I've watched season six and seven.

Quite simply, Buffy's reply of "Spike" was all the answer that was needed. "Spike wearing the amulet" wasn't needed because everyone knew he was.
"Spike, the guy you tried to have eliminated" wasn't needed because Buffy knew she was right about Spike and so did Giles at that moment.
It all wraps back around to that oldest of plot devices where Buffy is concerned. I call it the "Let's all doubt the Slayer" plot device.
Of course, the show would have been less interesting without it.
