Anyway, we have Spike saying it post souling, but also the demon who returns his soul may have done a dramatic pause when he makes the announcement but he says it in response to Spike telling him to give him what he wants in addition to that

We could spend weeks discussing Buffy's "I Love You" but that has been done in several other threads.

I absolutely hate it when Spike stans say Buffy's last line was "Spike" because it anviliciously implies that a throw-away comment is something Spuffylicious.

What was the line before "Spike"? It was Giles stumbling out of the bus, viewing the crater and asking "What did this?" [Buffy] "Spike".

Nothing Spuffy like at all.

Yeah, that's odd. I actually saw that for the first time last year, making a big deal out of the fact that her last word is 'Spike'. I don't read into it. Remember the look on her face? Smiling, Spike all but forgotten.
Clearly devastated that the man she apparently 'loves' has just died. 😄
