Feminist reboot of Charmed

It might be fun to see who takes the parts of the 3 sister witches, as stated in the first episode the Charmed ones were 3 sisters but in the final episode
the 3 sisters could include 2 blokes.
Given that the writers actually present the three sister witches as feminists, who would you like to see as the re-booted Charmed ones?

No. No, it won't be fun. I own the original series (S1-5) and I'll stick with that. I really hate re-boots.

I liked the first series . I really don't think they could do it justice with a reboot .

But I have one actress I like in it . Molly Quinn.

Could they do it justice?
Yes, they might care to learn what being a Wiccan is, all that doing unto others stuff, getting the bad stuff shoved back at you.
It didn't happen to them much.
One of the good things would be that special effects are much better no than they were when the series was made.
And the big mistakes of prop locations could rectified.

But the term Feminist Reboot is confusing. I thought Charmed was already pretty Feminist 😕

That's what I thought too, but clearly it was only about getting laid. I guess the new one will be about not getting laid because of men not respecting feminism.

I'm sure they will get laid. But hopefully it won't be in the context of "I must find love, I must find true love. I must find love. Love. Look I found love, true love... now I can nag about all of his flaws and how he doesn't love me enough *nag nag nag nag nag*", then start cycle over again 😛

I have to admit I had trouble watching the last few seasons because of that. It wasn't even about sisterhood or magic anymore. The first 3 seasons managed to find the right balance though imo

Its like you're channelling my city friends.

If they are being witches, I wana see some man hating spells, naked moon dancing, hairy armpits and pms chocolate binges. Peeps I can relate to.

Oh, so it was like a reality show then?

Phoebe's quest for "true love" was incredibly dull. I just didn't CARE about it. (Too bad, because she was really interesting in S1-S3)

The show did have a feminist flavour, but it died with Prue. Its not a coincidence that after Shannen left, things became a bit tedious.

They could probably do all sorts of housework using magic spells, not just limiting themselves to the kitchen.

Oh great. Three little Willows running around. Can you say snoozefest?
I fornicated with a witch that casted a spell to fix their leaky plumbing.

Proof! We require proof of this alleged incident.

I have deep, dark, emotional scars from that one. Don't know if that's proof enough. I could tell stories!

Are you being just a bit kinky or perverted? Do you want details of the fornication or the plumbing being fixed?
Wasnt there a plan a while ago to set this in the 70's? I think I'd have preferred that over a modern day reboot. Will they keep all that elders stuff? Will it fit with the shows finale and time travel stuff? Will the sisters look alike again?..

Yes, they were going to make it a prequel. And have the events of that lead up to the start of the main series. They ditched that plan and rebooted it so there is no connection to the original.

So is Holly pitching a fit because its a rip off rather than reboot? Promoting it with no Charmed connection might give it a better chance at attracting a fanbase. Are college towns over there all like mystic falls and point pleasant?

For me the best solution, better than a reboot or remake or any other wacky ideas doomed to fail, would be to make a series centered on the children of the sisters. They could pick up the actors who played adult Chris and Wyatt, and then the sisters could appear as a guest sometime. This would be the best way to continue Charmed's story without distorting it in any way. I do not even understand that they do not think about it. Of all the other possible solutions, I find that it is the one that has the best chance of succeeding

Shannen Doherty doesn’t seem to mind, except for the suggestion that the original wasn’t empowering. But then she got out while the show was still decent 🙂

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
*screams in horror at the idea of MORE screentime for Chris and Wyatt*

Too dramatic? 😛 Perhaps, but their stories were not entertaining and for the most part didn't even make sense. The idea of a series centered on them, *the horror*

Give me fresh faced girls in a college town any day over the Halliwell welps.

I second the Scream of horror & would rather take the college girls.
