I do understand you find that creepy and I would honestly prefer that this scene doesn’t exist.
What I don’t understand is, generally, people who use this argument are Spike’s fan and when I see « Angel is a pedaophilia and I love Spike « in the same comment I’m always wondering who this person is kidding ? Because if they really think what Angel did is pedaophilia, they should think the same thing of a man who build a robot of the women he loves just for having sex. I’m not attacking you, I’m not attacking Spike, but can we all agree that these people haven’t logic !

When Angel first saw Buffy he already had a soul so we expect more of him. When Spike built the Bot he was still a soulless demon. You can't hold them to the same standard of behaviour unless theyre in an equal state. So you can compare Angel sleeping with Buffy and the morning after stalking her friends, murdering Jenny and killing willows fish etc to Buffy and spike's behaviour in mid S6 where his big morning after faux pas was saying the only thing better than killing a slayer is doing a slayer. I find Angels behaviour worse in comparison. But hey, that's just me.

Spike wasn't attracted to her in Season 2. Retroactively people could argue it, but in reality the writers had no reason for Spike to be attracted to Buffy. He was all about Dru all the way up to the end of Lovers Walk at least, if not In the Dark. Even then, the majority of Season 4 was frenemy territory, Spike was happy enough to lead Buffy into a trap which would've resulted in her death.

Sure he was, he just didn't know he was. To the best of my recollection James Marsters even mentioned playing it that way. Whether there was supposed to be or not is a moot point, there was an attraction.

I don't think it turned sexual until later. Later in the season, mind you, but initially I thought it was more attraction because of what she was.

Spike woke up in Out of my mind S5 and found hen was in love with Buffy, he had previously in the episode tried to kill her. JM said he did stalk Buffy S2 as a sexual predictor although that was not how it was scripted

I think its because of that one flashback scene where Angel sees Buffy for the first time and she's sucking a lollipop, it's kind of creepy. I'm more bothered by a TA sleeping with a student but we all have our preferences and pet peeves.
Still picking Spike though, they look great together, they're an amazing team and they have a deep trust between them. When Buffy needed help she went to Spike and he always helped her.

I never understand how people see Angel as a pedophile.
It's not like he stalked her (for anything other than protection that came from the orders of the PtB).
He didn't do anything to her against her will.
I guess in some states it's illegal because of their age difference, but I'm sure a girl who had the weight of the world on her shoulders was much more mature than most 16 year olds. They do live in a supernatural world, not a humans law world.
Idk I just don't see pedophilia with them...

Maybe .....but I can't get a 240 year old in a relationship with a 15 year old even if he looks mid twenties ....surely he would be looking at a more mature woman than a child.
That said I think being Buffy first and only love ( not sure if she ever loved Riley ) there would always be a connection

But when Spike had a soul over on Angel he seemed to think that building a sex-bot was still okay- in 'Lineage', where he's all 'people shagging bots is totes cool', so the aurguement still holds 'Spike-with-a-soul' should've been ashamed but he wasn't. So = creepy.

Could we just say this, and let it go at that? Buffy has to have a boyfriend who is as much more than human as she is. Buffy is the Whedonverse version of the supersoldier concept, but, barring a Buffy/Captain America crossover, an ensouled vampire is the next best option. Nah, probably not. Okay, here goes.

Which Buffy?

High school, Harlequin Romance Buffy needed a handsome, mysterious, heroic lover with a dark tragic past, who is struggling to come to terms with some traumatic life changing experience. Added icing to the cake would be that she would be his first true love, and the cherry on top would be that he falls in love with her at the first moment that he lays eyes on her. Every young girl's dream. The perfect first love. Angel.

More experienced, somewhat jaded Buffy needs someone who has that same dark past, but has learned to accept that past, and is determined to move past it and concentrate on the good that he can do now, rather than the bad that he frankly can't go back and change. Like her, he has loved and lost, and isn't really sure whether that loss was for the better or the worse, but knows and accepts that it is over. He is better with her than without her, she is better with him than without him, and they both know it. He's a man who lives in the present, because the past is gone, and the future is a mystery. He might not be the "long haul" guy, but he's definitely the "right now" guy. Spike.

I dig Angel's hairstyle, it's nothing special really but impressive for a person who can't see his own reflection, you can see he put a lot of effort in it, he really cared! Spike's is just lazy ya know, what's so hard about slicking your hair back and bleaching it, i can do that with a blind on! Gee! But Angel on the other hand really tried, like maybe that's part of him that really wanted to be human you know, deep down, maybe he even looked it up somewhere what's fashion forward these days or whatever. So. 1:0

True, also Spike seems to be more aware about his clothes size. But I think he does stop painting his nails at some point and using eye liner too... I wonder what happened there. ( Btw I think they used to share eye liner with Angelus hm.)
But, I think Angel was a bit better at accessorizing, I mean all those neck chains and bracelets Spike used to wear looked like the once you see on commercials on TV, you know the ones that are supposed to increase potency or something.
