Weather people should have their salary attached to how well they do the weather The more they mess up thee more money taken away from
their paycheck 😀
"Once calculated by hand based mainly upon changes in
barometric pressure, current weather conditions, and sky condition or
cloud cover, weather forecasting now relies on
computer-based models that take many atmospheric factors into account.
[1] Human input is still required to pick the best possible forecast model to base the forecast upon, which involves pattern recognition skills,
teleconnections, knowledge of model performance, and knowledge of model biases.
The inaccuracy of forecasting is due to the chaotic nature of the atmosphere, the massive computational power required to solve the equations that describe the atmosphere, the error involved in measuring the initial conditions, and an incomplete understanding of atmospheric processes. Hence, forecasts become less accurate as the difference between current time and the time for which the forecast is being made (the
range of the forecast) increases. The use of ensembles and model consensus help narrow the error and pick the most likely outcome".
Blame God. 😊
No more roads. There should be a moratorium on road building for a few years. There will soon be no green spaces left and although I (vaguely) understand the need for houses, we shouldn't need more roads.
But don't new houses require an infrastructure that includes new roads? It's no good building houses unless people can get to their place of employment. New houses put more pressure on existing roads. We probably need a more reliable and more extensive Public Transport System (though if this is right
More than 11,000 homes in England to be built on land at high risk of flooding
better make it canals). 😉
"More than half of the
UK land area is farmland (fields, orchards etc), just over a third might be termed natural or semi-natural (moors, heathland, natural grassland etc), a little under 6% is
built on (roads, buildings, airports, quarries etc) and 2.5% is green urban (parks, gardens, golf courses, sports pitches etc). BBC 9 Nov 2017" Though there is a disparity between England and the other countries in the UK.
Blame Sturgeon 'cos Scotland's got too many mountains. 😊
