There should be a law against bullying in schools, if it were a police issue (which it should be) then it would happen less. I'm sorry but you shouldn't just be put into detention or expelled or whatever for mentally scarring or physically harming a person. The police should deal with you.

Whilst I completely agree in principle, in reality it would be incredibly difficult for several reasons:

1. In most cases, it's just one person's word against another and unless there is physical marks, then it would be difficult to prove because the bully is going to deny it.
2. If the bully is operating as part of a gang, then they are going to use their friends to back up their story so you have several accounts saying one thing, and one account saying another.
3. Some bullies like to make out they're the victim and would likely use the police threat against their victim.

Bullies are cowards who pick on those they perceive to be weaker than them so a police threat could make them double down on their efforts to keep their victim quiet.


There should be a law against smoking in public places which includes outside areas and apartment corridors. It stinks and, particularly if you're a non-smoker, why should you have to breath in the smoke and smell the stench of somebody else's cigarette. Instead they should make tobacco injectable, that way if someone is that desperate for a cigarette, they can stab themselves in the arm. They can poison their own bodies without inflicting it on other people. Alternatively, they should just ban smoking altogether. (Apologies to anybody reading this who smokes, I just hate the habit. It's the smell, if it didn't have the smell it wouldn't seem so bad.)

That's definitely true for some occasions but I know of countless times where it's pretty much the opposite. Outright abuse often happens in front of teachers and a classroom of like 30 students. Nobody says or does anything (even the person being bullied) because they know it will likely achieve nothing because there's not adequate punishment for that sort of thing. That's why there's a perception of bullies being powerful and connected it's because there's nothing to protect the person being bullied. It's really odd to think about because school is surely supposed to prepare you for the adult world but if you were to be pushed around at work or in the street that's not shrugged off like it is if you're someone in school. It's probably not legally punished much because the offenders are under age but that should be reformed imo.

But no one messes up on purpose. I am sure everyone messes up accidentally. And what if they are new and not living paycheck to paycheck, would it be okay to dock their wages then? Of what if they've been there for years and accidentally make a mistake, but they are living paycheck to paycheck, should they not be docked then?

You can't have a sliding scale that seperates, and treats, some employees different than the other. Then the people that don't live paycheck to paycheck would feel victimized by having money. Moreover, how does the employer know that you are living paycheck to paycheck? I don't want them knowing my finances.

I thought we were meant to be going greener, less cars, more buses and bikes and feet. Fix the roads we have. Fix the derelict houses we already have. Support from central govt for local councils to buy houses to rent, and maybe we won't need to build so much.

It reminds me of visiting my parents' friends when I was wee, who lived near Thurso, and how the drive was an epic adventure because driving through the Highlands is an experience to say the least. Certainly not an easy way around those solid volcanic mountains lol.
